I've also had a challenge to add 10 minutes of exercise a day in the past. I used to put on my favorite music and dance in the kitchen or do some strength exercises while watching TV the end of the night.

For me, it's a matter of self-discipline. I HAVE the time and don't use it well. That being said, I've found that there are some things I can do while doing other things, ie: calf raises and some other leg exercises while ironing, extensions while sitting at the computer, etc. These are strength exercises and not cardio, but it all counts and uses muscles that would otherwise not be used.

Studies show that even 10 minute increments are as effective as 30-minutes straight, so just shoot for 10 minutes at a time--maybe while the kids are having lunch. As mothers, we are always trying to squeeze in tasks where we can--just make 10 minutes of exercise one of those tasks. The house will still need to be picked up anyway, the laundry will need to be folded, dishes washed, etc. Work your exercise in between the other things rather than trying to do it all in one stretch.

I used to do my exercise (WATP DVD) at 9 pm while dh watched a show. It left me feeling great, and never affected my ability to go to bed shortly afterwards. I also went walking with a friend at 7 am several days a week for a long time. Unfortunately, we're working now and that doesn't work for us now. :( Time to get back to my DVDs and/or SP videos...

I'm trying to figure out how to fit everything in to my days. I'm not even trying to add in extras! Just the basics: keeping the house picked up, school work and now my fitness routine. I feel like I can only ever get 2 of the 3 done. It's either housework and school work or house work and exercise...you get the idea. I delegate housework to my oldest daughter (the other is only 2) and I have her do as much of her school works as possible independently. Even then I just can't seem to find the time. What advice do you all have?
