We almost always have breakfast all together...with the exception of DH. He leaves for work REALLY early in the morning. (Usually somewhere around 3:30-4:30) Some of our family favorites are oatmeal, pancakes, french toast, homemade muffins, cheesy eggs, stuff like that. It's not often, but when we do have cereal it is usually one of the Kashi cereals....just because are SO delicious and the fact that they are organic and all natural makes them that much better! Strawberry Fields and the Blueberry Clusters are the best....mmmm, yum!!! :)

We are big breakfast people here. It could range from oatmeal to eggs, turkey bacon and potatoes. Whole wheat pancakes with fruit are often served. It's actually very rare we just have cold cereal. My dear, dear grandmother, who I had the wonderful opportunity of living with during my teens, taught me how important breakfast was and it stuck. We also like smoothies and fresh fruit is always present. :)

On work days, DH takes care of his own breakfast and lets me sleep if I need to. He doesn't like to eat very much before work but will take enough of a lunch to start snacking midmorning. He's an equipment operator, so eats on the run.

When the kids were leaving the house for school or jobs, they were on their own for breakfast but while we were homeschooling, I usually cooked for everyone. That way, I could make sure they ate well and didn't just scarf down all the yogurt, fruit, or whatever other of their favorites I had around.

Breakfast is usually self-serve at our house: oatmeal, eggs, smoothies, yogurt, toast, cereal, etc. Sometimes my kids will make chocolate chip pancakes for themselves. I've been having smoothies for breakfast lately.

Before I broke my leg, we had started the tradition of doing Sunday breakfast as a sit down meal together with food such as eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, waffles, french toast. cinnamon rolls, fruit, and juice. But that fell apart with my injury.

I'm glad to be back to hot cereal mornings, too. I like oatmeal with blueberries, walnuts, and brown sugar the best. The multigrain sounds interesting! And go ahead, splurge on yourself! lol

I'm into collecting and trying banana muffin recipes, too. The freezer has way too many bananas right now! I keep thinking I can make and freeze a bunch for the kids and dh to grab. Healthier for dh than cookies!

Well, this is my set menu.... LOL
Oatmeal with fruit...
I am trying to lower my cholestral ( and triglycerides) SO instead of just a banana I make myself oatmeal, cut the banana up and I bought some Agave syrup to mix in.. YUMMY!
I did spluge last week.. I bought some a bit pricey different types of oatmeal, I wanted to try them and it makes breakfast a little more special! LOL They are delicious!!! Full of different types of grains .. Sharing- Two years ago, my dh and I went with another couple to NYC. they have a time share on Times Square. My friend and I found this marvelous little eatery in the Village.. We ordered a scrumptious grain meal (LOL) with berries and agave syrup. SO... fast forward... Splurging on some different grainy oatmeals makes me feel like I am dining out every morning! hahahaha

Do you have a set menu or list of things to choose from? Do you fix it or does everyone serve themselves?
