I've been considering Wii Fit. A lot of my friends rave about it; this is the first time I've seen negative comments. What did you dislike about it?

You'll have to let us know how Wii Fit 2 is. It might be another option during the winter besides my WATP. Course it would be wonderful to take up cross country skiing. But I'd have to do it with the kids for company, and skiis time X 4 is probably too much. sigh

I liked wii fit because it fit where I was at the time. Its very helpvul if you're an uber beginner or are recovering from an injury (I had a broken foot, then foot surgery last year before the 2 this year!!!) That stupid ball game saved me thousands of dollars of PT. However, it did have it's limits. I did buy the Fit Plus with my birthday $$ and it shipped today. I've started back in with the regular fit now but still can't do much with my feet. I boxed for about 20 minutes the other day and it was ok since there are just small steps off the box. My shoulders cried though! LOL

Tami - I am interested in EA Sports. But I bought Wii Fit and was so disappointed with it. I guess a lot of people were because Wii made the newer version the way that the first one should have been. So I've learned my lesson. I am waiting until EA 2 comes out. I know it may be awhile, but I'd rather wait than spend that kind of money again and then not use it.

Please share your opinion of EA Sports once you have a chance to use it.

I'm glad that you are making progress. It's definitely best to take it easy so that you don't have a set back.

I really prefer going for walks. I can do some strength exercises intermittently (arm raises, boxing, hip flexors, wall pushups, squats, lunges) while walking where no one can see me. I hate exercising in front of anyone--unless its a group activity.

If I'm home alone, or in my room, I'll do some aductions and other leg lifts or push ups. At the computer, I'll do seated leg extentions while posting or reading Spark articles (like now). I've got some videos, but don't care for them very much.

Cookies- when the price comes down you should check out EA Sports Active. It has a 30 day program of strength and aerobics you can do which will give you a different workout every day for 30 days. Ihaven't tried it yet because I just ordered it with my birthday money and amazon certificates but I'm looking forward to checking it out.

As for my foot, they have their sore days like today when its raining but I'm making steady improvement. It's been 15 weeks since the left and 7 weeks since the right so I dont' expect to be training for marathons yet. (Probably won't do that when I'm healed either because that takes a BOATLOAD of time! Who has that kind of time?)

My Fitness Coach on the Wii is my favorite. I always liked aerobics but bored easily of the same few workout DVDs that I own. Now I get a different workout each time I do MFC.

And I know it sounds a little silly, but I really do view Maya (the trainer in the game) as my personal trainer. I enter my weight and measurements and I follow the program. I get EARLY in the morning before anyone else in the house and I do my workouts. So far, so good.

And at $29.99 for the game, it is a very economical workout program.

I hope that your foot is healing well and that all goes well with your return!

Thanks for the thoughts. I know that we have family getting a wii for Christmas, so I am looking forward to using it.

Have a great day!

Well, I've actually been not exercising since I had 2 foot surgeries this summer but I just got to start back. I have a recumbant bike and elliptical trainer that I use. I've been back on the bike about a week now. I HATE the elliptical torture device but I use it to cross train when I can. What I can't wait to get back into is using the Wii. I have wii fit, Gold's Gym, Wii sport, and EA Active. I also just pre-ordered wii fit plus. My favorite part of each of them is the boxing. I really feel like I've done something after 45 minutes of boxing and it goes so quick since your mind is focused on hitting the targets properly. a 13 minute segment on Wii Fit boxing FLIES but 13 minutes on the ETD is a lifetime!

I also have loads of dumbbells, a weight bench and loads of yoga and pilates DVD's. Switching up keeps me from getting board. I just can't wait to get back to all of it!

I love doing Tae-Bo and the WATP videos, but I'm always looking for something different to try just to mix things up. I don't have time or $ for the gym, so I like to use videos. What's your favorite ones?
