I'm here again now. I've been whole foods plant based for about 9 months now. I've lost weight and--my doctor just confirmed--have gotten lots healthier. I would check in here regularly if I knew other people were. Feel free to friend me!

I just joined. I am a raw vegan looking for others who focus on a healthy diet just as much as they do fitness.

Hi,
I'm trying to make a life time change in attitude to food and exercise. Been vegetarian for four months, vegan for one. Love fresh, healthy home cooked food, organic where possible, and getting out and about in the fresh air, walking, cycling and gardening.
I can't believe how much better I feel since turning vegan. Lots more energy, sleep better and a better shape although little weight loss (yet).
I'm in the UK. Just wanted to say hello.

it is nice to see people on here chatting.
I just got back from a two week vacation. It was great, my husband is eating pretty much everything I am this time around. It sure is a big help. I was able to prepare most of our meals so things went very smooth and I didn't come back having to start all over again.

Nice to meet you!

I'm not a fan of grains for breakfast... Oatmeal is not my favorite. I love granola/cereals but I quickly over eat and the calories in those items add up quick! I'm usually very busy in the mornings so I make a smoothie with a banana, an apple, kale, and flax seed or I will have avocado on toast.

I am trying to stick to a whole foods plant based diet but I'm the only one in my household of 9 trying to do so... Some days are so busy or tough that I just have what everyone else is eating but I try to eat extra salad or veggie to fill up on. I find I quickly over eat meat and then feel yuck. I do eat eggs a couple of times a week because we have chickens that give us plenty of fresh eggs daily. :)

I'm here!! Nice to meet you! I'm working very hard to keep my eating whole and clean. It makes an enormous difference in my life.

I'm having a lot of stress in my life, job, family, etc., so keeping the balance with food and exercise really is helping to manage it and keep it in perspective.

What is your favorite whole food breakfast? I eat a lot of eggs because I was recently diagnosed as diabetic and I am working hard to lose weight to control the diabetes with food and weight loss. I can't really process carbs very well so I rely on protein and fruits and veggies mostly. I'd love to be totally animal product free, but since I don't think most breakfast grains will work with my sugar issue, I'm a bit lost as to what else I could eat. So, I'm just gathering ideas from others!

Have a great day!!

It's very hard to eat vegan and clean when food is being catered for a general audience. I think next time I will literally bring a cooler and food with me so I can eat balanced healthy meals in my room. I got very tired of the same salad for lunch and dinner for nearly three days. :)

I'm glad to be back in my routine! Healthy balanced food makes such a difference in my outlook on life!

I just joined this team and I'm also glad to see that it's actually active. I am a returning vegan trying to get healthy and bring my weight down. It's amazing how much vegetarian junk food is out there!

I have a business trip coming up next week and am also concerned about eating healthy while there. we all eat together as work caters the food. It's usually horrible and I live off of nuts and fruits from my pocket.

That would have been great but I was relegated to eating what the company offered in the hotel as we had all of our meals together. I did my best, but I'm glad to be home and eating normally again!

Tonight I'm going to make a big spinach salad and something warm to go with it. Maybe a quick veggie soup. Yum!!

When I'm away on trips, I like buffets. I can pick and choose from a variety of foods and make my own concoctions.. (rice mixed with steamed veggies, green onions, beans and sprinkled with soy sauce, or pasta with steamed veggies, mushrooms, olives and topped with marinara sauce, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruits, baked fries, baked potato/sweet potato, vegetable sushi, etc). Just takes a little imagination and my plate of food does look odd but my taste buds and tummy are happy!

I have one relatively active team, and that's because a core group checks in every day to chat and support each other. Without responses to posts, there isn't really much activity on a team. I was so glad to see your response here! I've been away at a business meeting the last few days, but going forward I'm going to come here more often and see if we can't have some interesting activity here!

Speaking of the business trip, it has been amazingly difficult to eat well on this trip unless I want to eat salad for every meal. I'm looking forward to going home to eat some wholesome food!!

I just joined this team because of it's description but finding an active team has been discouraging. I'm not much of a chatter but I'm making it a habit to check in often and lend support but it's a shame that it's seldom reciprocated. Hope there are supportive team members still active here. Have a great day! emoticon

If you are currently active or trying to be active on this team, would you respond to this thread so I could find a few like minded folks to share ideas with? I find a lot of teams with interesting names, then I join them, only to find out they aren't active.

If we could just get a small core group of like 10 people posting regularly and helping each other, I think that would be great.

I hope to hear from some of you!!!
