WOW! That sounds great! And I've sensed that NIA teachers are different and not performing at all. Very in tune with the class!

How many people were at your training?? Were there any "old" people?? I'm 61...

OMG Pam, it was amazing. Nia is such a complex and layered system. GENIUS!
I learned a ton! It sort of turned my teaching on it's head, which isn't a bad thing. They teach you TWYS which means Teach What You Sense. So you can't be "on"
like an entertainer (which is what I was trained to do for these types of programs). It is sort of a merging of my yoga teacher training with my fitness training. I would recommend this training to anyone who loves Nia. It's truly amazing. A lot of expressive therapy (can you spell FREEDANCE?) and learing a lot about myself.

Well, I did it, I got my White Belt. Now I am drooling after the Blue Belt. But I have to wait a year and work on being a WB first. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

Yeah, they call it "pre training". We have specific journalling assignments, too. Very interesting. And I like the coloring, too!

Wow! I didn't realize that you had to do all that preparation. I read Fit or Fat years ago too. The Anatomy Coloring book sounds like a fun way to learn muscles.

I am doing the "pre training" right now. They have a workbook and give you the Global Unity DVD. We are also working in the Anatomy Coloring book. They wanted us to read "Fit or Fat" by Covert Bailey, and I read it (again, I read it years ago when it first came out) and found the information to be nothing I didn't already know. That's okay. I will keep yah posted.
