LOL! Yes, a lot of people think that Nia is weird at first, but when they start to understand what Nia is about and see how they feel afterwards, they change their minds. Nia isn't just an aerobic workout, rather it is a mind:body workout that helps you to reconnect with yourself and to the world around you in a new way. It truly feels like therapy!

My Nia Godmother had me try my first class! I watched some of the videos on YouTube so was a little prepared. Kind of thought it was "weird" at first but I fell in love with it. I consider it my weekly therapy! : ) Absolutely hate missing class. There is only one class a week here in Lubbock. Lucky for me, our Nia instructor also teaches a Zumba class and she uses some Nia "ideas".

That's great! "Opal" is a fantastic routine! I taught it in my classes for about 12 weeks and they totally loved it. I am listed on www.nianow.com and am waiting for Nia headquarters to approve me as an affiliate member. What that would mean for me is that I would be able to give 40% off (one item) coupons to people who love Nia and want to buy things from the Nia store. Upon checkout, all you'd have to do is enter my affiliate number or name and I benefit from the sale as well. Everyone wins! When I get approval, I'll post and let everyone know. Who wouldn't want 40% off a Nia item?
If you love Opal, you should try Global Unity. I'm teaching "Globa Unity" right now and my class went crazy the first time they danced it! They told me that Opal was originally their favorite routine so far, but now, Global Unity is their favorite. It's great and you do sweat...ALOT!

I found out about it this summer from a cousin at a family reunion. Tried it a couple of weeks later and really love it. I do it at home using a Nia Opal DVD.

Nia has been around since the 80's, but there are still so many people out there who have never heard of it. How and when did you discover Nia? What were your thoughts after your first class?
