I wrote up my first impressions on a conference that I went to over the weekend. I am going to do a little writing about something on my heart. When I get it together I'll post it.

Hobbies cooking, walking, knitting, hospitality. I'm sure I have a few more that are not noticed by me maybe someone else.

Keep an Open Mind and Listen to What People are Saying
Have a Sparky Day!

Hi All,
Rioeen, yes the visit went well.
Since then I did more on my http://freewebs.com/jandante and have made a couple of knitted bookmarks and just about finished my first Teddy Bear for needy children, I hope to do a lot more.
I am staying home now so that I won't catch cold, before my op, a lot of people were coughing in Church last Sunday.
Blessings.

Hi Jan I hope you enjoyed your visiters...I'm sure you will come back from your days away feeling refreshed.
Painting and drawing are always on the top of my To Do List as I'd love to start again but priorities seem to take over but I will let you know if and when I have tried the Folk Art.
I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers especially on May 1st.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rioeen, Hope you get to the Folk Art soon, it is something I have not tried.
Yes, we love our home town. We have had visitors this week, one from Uk and her sister from Sydney way. We will be taking them to their next 'port of call' tomorrow and then having a couple of days away.
My op is on 1st May.
Blessings

Hi there, how lovely to hear about your hobbies!

Corrina I have been wanting to learn Folk Art for the longest time and have dozens of sites saved for whenever I find some free time to give it a go.
WOW you sing and compose too, how wonderful! I used to play the guitar in my teens and wrote several songs then, it's great to know you're involved in music at your school, it must be very rewarding.

Jan you sound like a very busy and organised lady, your interests are not dull at all, how lovely to be so active in such a friendly community. It must be nice though to get away from your commitments in your motorhome. I wish you well for your next surgery and a speedy recovery, let us know when so I can add you to my prayers. Also let us know when you get into those dancing shoes, have fun!

Corrina, thanks for your concern, my life is not in danger, in fact I was bold enough to ask the Specialist if he had ever lost anyone under anaesthetic, LOL. This is the third op I have had with him since November.
Blessings, Jan

Jandante, your interests are not dull at all! I am sorry to hear that these surgeries have slowed you down. I hope you are spinning around in those dancing shoes very soon.
I am also hoping that these surgeries aren't because of a serious illness or condition (not trying to be nosey, just concerned.)

As I mentioned, we are retired, and we have lots of friends drop in which takes up a lot of time. I garden, read, do crosswords, and knit items to give away to trading tables or other needy causes. We have a motorhome and get away now an again. I am also treasurer of our Op-shop and on committee of management of Church and VP of ladies group. This all makes my life sound very dull, but I have had a few operations since last October, and have another coming up end of month so it is quite disruptive. I was playing golf croquet, but have not attended since my first op. We also cycle and walk.
I bought myself some new shoes to go dancing last year, and haven't worn them yet. LOL

I forgot to mention...I started my blog today, so check it out if you'd like! I'll look for all of yours, too if you have one.

Good idea to get another thread going!
I like to paint folk art. Google Lucy Ogletree and you will get an idea of the kind of thing I do--but no flying cats, or anything like that. Just country scenes usually, with children in them. Also, I have been known to turn rocks into animals with paints.
I used to knit and cross-stitch a lot, but don't have time for that right now.
I love to sing, and I am in a choir, also involved in music at my school. I have a piano that I compose songs on--but have no formal training, just "chord around" on it. I also have a guitar and a recorder that I fool around with.
I walk almost every day. I love the solitude and the fresh air.
Reading is a pleasure that I also do not get much time for, so I am very picky with my book selections. I like to read "literary fiction" (i.e. Oprah's Book Club selections are right up my alley.)

I was just asking Corrina about starting another thread and she said to go ahead. I thought it would be interesting to get to know more about each other through our hobbies.

OK I'll go first...

I love crafts, all sorts and would try anything once emoticon
I am mostly into glass painting, decoupage, card-making, re-cycling, computer graphics, home decor, cooking and reading, not necessarily in that order. I have also recently taken up drawing and painting and I am trying to get my herb 'garden' going in pots. I also love walking and reading my Bible daily.
