I am so glad that some are willing to help a fellow Sparker on the Old Fat Farmer's and Others team, that's what it's for. Just feel free to jump right in anytime.

That will give you plenty of time to research the books and build yourself a chicken tractor. I bet those boys would love to help you with that. Then start sending nice letters about all the benefits of City Chickens to the town council. Good luck.

Well, I'm saving the site to my favorites but unfortunately I have learned that my town doesn't allow chickens at all within city limits. BUT the ordinance is going to be revisited in July, this year.

Here is one on city laws and how to find them if your city is not listed.

Skeeter, I hope you don't mind, but Queen and I need a place to share links about raising chickens. If you have input please jump in. I realize this team helped bring your friends and family together, but I am grateful you were willing to adopt the rest of us too.

Queen, Here is a link to chicken tractors. Of course you would have to get permission from the property owners, but chickens cared for properly are quieter and less messy than dogs. Just don't get a rooster and maybe limit yourself to three till the neighbors adapt. Some cities have ordinances against chickens.

If you have a flat yard and a chicken tractor, you will not have to mow and there will be no bug problems. Just really reinforce the wire so a determined dog or raccoon can't get in.
