You're right...I tried looking through the fitness center and couldn't find anything that led you through which machines to use, I could have sworn there was *something* there. So what I would suggest is use the principles that you find in the articles to design your own program: exercise each major muscle group (chest, back, legs, calves, abs, shoulders, biceps, triceps) with an appropriate machine or non-machine exercise 2-3x/wk with two sets of 12-15 repetitions. When you feel comfortable with 2 sets of 15 you can increase your weight until you can comfortably do 12 and work your way back up. Most machines have a description of what they work.

Another option is to go to the Fitness and Exercise message board and ask other people what programs they use or have found online. There you'll get input from a lot of members with specific programs. Sorry for sending you in the wrong direction and thanks for explaining your frustration.

I read it but must have mis understood what you were asking. When I do gym workouts, using the machines. I usally count it under cardio as circuit training because I go around the machines 3 times. But no they do not have a way to log strength training other then the home extercise ones.

Sorry I misunderstood your question.

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

Ehm. Sorry, when I read my own message it seems really angry and hostile! That's not what I felt, but a great big frustration. There's no use for me discussing here if I cannot explain a simple thing like what I'm looking for and get two answers that both got me wrong :-(

Hmmm... as I'm not a native English speaker perhaps I couldn't make myself clear. I did try to write that I DID FIND the dumbells, balls and bands excerCises (I'm not a total dummy on webforums you know).

I said, I didn't find any gym programs... to use at a real gym with the gear there. ONLY home excercise.

Now I'm really curious did you read my message and I just write so poorly, or did you just look at it quickly, pick the key words and guess what I wanted?

Kalla, if you are looking for home exercises that use bands, barbells and that kind of things check out the strength training exercises. There are lots there and you can chose it then look at the demo's if you don't like it just click on the name and you can pick something else.

Let me know if this helps, Otherwise click on the add cardio tab and browse through and see if there is anything that will work. Walking is great extercise.

For exercise programs try going to the "Healthy Lifestyle" and then "Fitness" section to find a lot of articles, some instructional videos and lots of ideas for exercises to do.

Hi Jennie! I have the same problems you do, being here for the first time (well I started on sunday and have visited three times I think since).

I came here looking for ideas for a moderate, gentle GYM program, I just bought a gym card. I didn't find them (yet? are there any? links?) - just home excersise (lol I don't know how to spell that important word) with dumbells, balls and bands.

Also, I had not thought to start any diet, just try and eat a bit healthier than before and see where that takes me.

I feel a bit overwhelmed on all the programs and tools here :-o

But the weigh in is something I certainly am going to use! I looked for a LONG TIME today where to give the digits (I didn't actually weigh me on sunday so gave a wrong number then). Found it on my own though :-)

*proud* ;-)

Jennie the site is very useful and takes a lot of playing around to get use to. If there is something in particular that you are looking for feel free to ask, because I am not sure what you are looking for.

Hello,
My name is Jennie I'm new here and I am trying to go about this the right way, I am wondering how do I weigh-in? Basically, what I am trying to say is that I would like some pointers on how to use this site in general all this is so overwhelming and new to me, but it is also exciting.
