Happy to report the scale is moving down once again. That is a good thing. I am also in a dress size 1X which I could not wear a month ago.....guess things shifted! LOL

Way to go Pam. Have fun on the cruise. I'm learning that listening to my body's signals is the way to go. Last Dec. I was on vacation and was able to maintain. My in-laws fed me so much food at lunch, that I skipped dinner on most nights and I really did't feel deprived. Find what works for you.

Well glad to report I am still here.....sad to report I am still the same weight as I began the year at! Lost a bunch, gained it back, lost it again and I pray it will stay gone. Will be traveling the month of September into October and then over Christmas a 14 day cruise.....so that will tell the true story. I am hoping to be at 200 lbs come Jan 1st 2014....okay maybe not the 1st, I will still be on the cruise ship, but by Jan. 15th I hope to be at 200 lbs. Then I want to maintain it for about 2 months and then get it moving again. One day at a time, that is how I will do it.

I'm very pleased with my efforts in June. Since I'll be away for a week in July, I'm sure I won't do as well this month, but my goal is to continue doing as much as I can to work out and eat right.

My husband and I get up at 5:00 a.m. to go for our daily walk these days. This does help avoid the extreme heat of Southern Arizona, but I have a very difficult time getting enough sleep. While I like the longer days of summer, I am looking forward to when I can push up our waking hour -- at least until 5:15. LOL

I am pretty proud of myself for going to the gym three times a week most of this year -- to say I'm not a "gym rat" is an understatement. But, I certainly wish I was able to lift more, etc. Very slow progress.

Since we have several pools in our area, we are doing quite a bit of swimming -- I really pat myself on the back if I do all three -- walking, gym, and swimming. I love how Sparkpeople lets me track my fitness. It is a big motivator.

My "new" thing is trying to make healthier, more varied lunches. I have a weakness for potato chips, so I'm trying to prepare meals (salads, etc.) that don't "require" potato chips (which I normally have with a sandwich.) I'm also trying to reduce my cookie and candy consumption -- I don't overdo, but with all the wonderful fresh fruit around, I should not need cookies or candy often.

Ok, the year is in it's apex. How are you making it great? Now is the time to make sure the year goes on to a great December. Plan now, and you'll feel awesome!
