I am looking forward to getting back to the C25K this week--I miss my interval runs! Spent the last 5 days doing at least 2 hours a day of hard physical labor for work as well as running around to job-related events and client meetings. My body is tired.

But I finally got a decent night's emoticon and I'm taking it easy this morning. So I might run later today.

Let's all have a good week! emoticon

The Kenai's beautiful. And the weatherman was totally wrong. Now it looks like we'll have nice weather all week...not warm, but sunny. I guess I can live with that.

Thanks for the comments. I decided my 3 days will be T, Th and Sat. Yesterday I got a cheap ($17) mp3 player and downloaded a free set of the C25K podcasts so I can just run/walk when cued - if I can figure out how to use everything!. I live in central Pennsylvania, so the weather is finally nice enough to run outdoors. We also have a 1 acre lot with a cabin on it on the Kenai peninsula, so I know a little bit about your tempermental weather. I only get there every other summer.
Weights for me too today.

Hi MC! I counted for all 3 days of my first week. Now that I'm finally on week 2, I have bought a watch so now I actually know how long I'm jogging, and how long I'm walking! I feel like such a techno-geek! emoticon

The weather reports are for snow again, but I'm not sure I believe them. Anyway, today will be a weight training day, so I guess I don't care all that much.

Hang in there!

Hello,
Just heading out to start day 1 week 1. I'm a little behind you all, and haven't figured out how to post, just reply. Don't have a smart phone or ipod, so going to count instead of time. Wish me luck. I hope I find this group again to see how everyone is doing.

I'm going to start week 2 on Sunday. If there's too much ice on the ground, I'll use an indoor track.

I live on the southern coast of Alaska, by the way.

umm. Apparently there is a tiny little on/off switch under the motor of our treadmill...and our 5 year old turned it off. emoticon So, the good news is I can actually start the program tomorrow as planned for Monday... YAH emoticon Thanks to my wonderful hubby who found the switch and didn't laugh at me about it emoticon he just smiled emoticon "it's all good honey"

Vicki,
Anyway you want it to, though I was thinking of just checking back in here after starting on the same day. My treadmill won't turn on, so I guess that means my driveway is my new treadmill. Did you start again, Vicki? One day I just was over obligated and ran out of time to run, the next day my treadmill was on the fritz and a thunderstorm blew in. We are about the same weight, and starting over, I though it would be good to feel like I'm not alone.
Chris

Hi Trixie! I'm sure you'll do great. Hang in there!

I've decided to take this week off even though I just started C25K. We've got about 8" of new snow, and it hasn't stopped yet. In my current condition I would probably fall and injure myself again. I already did that once this spring.

I was only 1 week into training when I developed pneumonia! I am finally starting to feel well enough to get back into exercising. I was really loving the running and am dying to get back to it, but I know my body isn't ready for it yet. I'll start with walking and if that goes well, try to add the running back in.

Vicki, I need a running buddy, intended to get on that treadmill today, and too many things on the list and I didn't get to the treadmill. If anyone else is starting over, I'm lacing up Tuesday, April 9 at about 11:20-11:30ish. Would love it to have a running buddy.

I've stopped and restarted twice, I'm on another break now. I've gotten up to week 5 and then the 10 minute intervals get to me or the 20 minute running at a time. I keep starting over at the 5 minute intervals, then I get weary and don't run for a month.

CHRISTINALOVES,
I wish you the best in starting the program. The key for you I am sure will be listen to your body. It will let you know how you are doing. If you need to repeat a week that is quite normal. This is a journey and not a race and I look forward to hearing about your first 5K.

The furthest into the program I've ever made it so far was week 3, run 3. Then I have fallen ill, eventually found out this was due to hashimoto's hypothyroidism, with a gluten allergy and a weakened immune system from it that just couldn't handle the added stress of working out. Ready to lace up and try it again. Have always wanted to do the Shamrock Shuffle as my first 5k, though from starting now, it maybe that it is something in June. Prayers please, as I am hoping my immune function has improved and that I will be able to motor on through the entire program starting Monday- on through to June, and enter my first 5k. Thinking that starting now, will hopefully be less likely to 'catch' a cold in April.
Plan is to get on treadmill as soon as our 4ker (little cutie) gets on the school bus at 11:20, by then the chores etc are all done and I should be able to do well with that timeline as a trigger for me. Seems to be the way to best get things done for me, having a set routine.
