thank you for even posting this as I can totally relate. I'm not as far as you, and I am not a consisten runner, but I do love to get out there and do it.

I find when I do those lizards are awful! LOL

really, thank you for the reminder that it can and WILL be done!!

For awhile in my younger days I was an SCA fighter. If you are not familiar with SCA it is medieval reenactment and the fighting is not staged, but uses armour and rattan sticks. Obviously it is dominated by men. So, as a female fighter we used to talk about lizards that we had to fight against in our heads that would pop up and tell us to be a nice lady and not hit hard.

Today, as I was working through week 6 day 1, I realized that I have similar lizards for running. As long as I was not thinking, I was fine...but as soon as a thoughts such as "how much longer for this interval" or "I havent heard my half-way mark", my breathing would suddenly feel labored and I felt more tired. IT IS ALL IN MY HEAD!!!

I have to figure out how to just not think...to just enjoy the rythym of the breathing and the feet hitting the pavement. I have to shut those lizards up!

As my husband said "you like riding, but you love running"...it is true...I am not good at it...probably never will be, but I sure do love it.
