SOPHIA - I believ I heard about it on Sparkpeople. I just typed into I-tunes search "Podrunner Intervals" and it is by DJ Smith.

There are couch to 5K - 10 week programs
Highway to 8K - 10 week programs

Just try typing in Podrunner Intervals, I think that is all I did. Hope that helps. You may have to go under the podcast section as well.

I have been running to the podcasts on Itunes for C25K.. they are free and it beats looking at my watch constantly. I enjoy the voice in my ear telling me to start running or cool down.

The Roots or Cunning linguists. Quality instrumentals keep me going. I find when there are words in my songs, I get distracted and go slower.

Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas are staples on my running playlist too.

Here's a couple that haven't been mentioned yet:
Dixie Chicks - Ready to Run
Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to download a few of these!

Cool, what a great thread! I will probably download some of these tunes myself.

I love Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and the Black Eyed Peas as mainstays on my running playlist. Here are my suggestions for more uplifting stuff:

Dare you to move - Switchfoot

Chariots of Fire (lol..cliche but fun)

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor

Get Out of This Town - Carrie Underwood

Storms in Africa - Enya (instrumental but awesome)

Where Are We Runnin'? - Lenny Kravitz

What I Like About You - Lillix

Rooftops - Lostprophets (GREAT build in this one)

Say Hey (I Love You) - Michael Franti

Pocketful of Sunshine - Natasha Beddingfield

Also, the Gomers podcast always suggests songs to run to, and they frequently include Christian and inspirational stuff. Their list is here: http://www.twogomers.com/?page_id=16

Try this: VERY motivating song. Might be hard to find but if you do, it's DEFINitELY worth it. It's called Fasten your Seatbelt by Pendulum. I find the beginning minute or so is excellent for getting you into the mind set, then as the beats pick up you find yourself just fuming to go! so give it a try, let me know what you think. (not many people know of this genre of music, drum & bass, but it is liberating!)

I've noticed Britney Spears seems to be a popular one for the beat.

Also, Pitbull (Calle Ocho) seems to be a popular one also and it is a great pace for the tempo that I run usually.

But there are two songs by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels "Devil With the Blue Dress On" and "Sock it to Me, Baby" Oldies but great beat!!!

If you know of any contemporary christian artists that would be great too!!!

Superchick - One Girl Revolution
Alive
Mary, Mary - Get UP!

I'm so all over the board and always run on shuffle. Many might find this just hilarious but one of my fave running songs is "Sing, Sing, Sing" by the Benny Goodman Orchestra (love old time big band!). It lasts something like 6 minutes so I can really get in the groove. I also like Metallica, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Pink, Kings of Leon, OneRepublic, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas. There's so many!!! LOL

I kind of like not knowing what will play next also, but I do not like if a slower songs pops up while I'm in the "zone" so I have to delete those off.

When I'm not listening to the weekly podcasts (which is pretty often) my new fave album is Jay Z's "The Blueprint 3" (got me through the first 25 minute run lol) and I love Lil Wayne's album "Tha Carter III". I also like house (club)music for its upbeat tempo, but I can't give you specific artists and songs for those, sorry.

good question. I'm a runner to the beat. So if it's slow; I'm slow! I'm liking.. Saviour by Lights. Obsessed by Mariah Carey. Addicted by Danny Fernandes; Body language by Jesse McCartney. Those are my most recent favourites that have me running under 7min/km.
Love to hear what else people run to.

I am searching for some suggestions on some upbeat music while running. No genre is off limits. Just thought it would be interesting to see what songs get us up and going while we're running?

Please include name of song and singer.
