My nephew called and was in town, so I met him and took him to my son's house to meet the babies. I am only six years older than my DN so you can imagine that I thought he was my own personal baby doll. We had great fun as kids. I was the only one with enough energy to keep up with him. I did not realize how much I missed him.

I got an email from a childhood friend who is worrying about the Cascadia fault line off our coast. It is due for another big one. I however, immediately thought about her tornado's and all the old missile silos in Kansas. Then I thought of all the car accidents on the highway below my house. Life is always a risk. We just have to have the grace to appreciate what we have.

I continue to pray for all the people who are experiencing tragedies.

I cannot even imagine what the people of Japan are having to deal with. We weren't complaining about the snowstorm we had here yesterday...not too much at least. The cleanup would be completely overwhelming! I'm glad that you did not see any effects from it. Glad to be home for March Break. A different pace will really nice. Have a great weekend.

Southern Oregon was hit hard, but Northern Oregon got 2 foot waves, so not much different than the sneaker waves we have to watch for. I can't imagine why our county had an alert. I wonder if my source was mistaken. The tide was out, if it was coming in it might have raised the water level.

I used to think the Native Americans must have been awfully strong to paddle upstream in their log canoes. Now that I have kayaked the Columbia I imaging they mostly just waited for the tides to change and floated up river. It is weird the ocean tides are so strong they send the current backwards as far as 60 miles inland.

Step Daughter got a papillon puppy given to her today. It will be a nice addition to her family. They are such good dogs. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Have you been watching the news about Japan. My prayers are for them. I live 50 miles inland from the west coast on a hill over the Columbia River and we even have a tsunami watch for the River in our county. The highest waves are suppose to hit late in the afternoon at the beach.

It makes me want to garden even that much more if we are going to be hit with series of earthquakes. Glad I have an orchard and sheep. At least we will eat if the economy takes a hit from all this.

Everything in moderation! emoticon I too am past the sugar and caffeine binge of last weekend. Water is my drink of choice. Graham crackers and peanut butter for snack. (Great as long as I stop at 3!) My progress is making it easy to resist things these days. March Break is next week and I look forward to having time - to work out, to plan meals, to eat, to rest!

Today, I had prune juice for Happy Hour. It was a nice natural sugar treat. Just remind me that moderation in prune juice is important.

Cooked flounder, spinach and sweet potato for supper. Mostly the sugar cravings are gone again. It really does not take long to stop the cycle, but it sure takes determination.

I played with grandson today. GD wanted her Dad. She clung to him.

Since yesterday was Fat Tuesday and today is Ash Wednesday and I am starting my sugar and wheat fast, I indulged in a zinger and giant chocolate cupcake. I am up 3 more pounds.

Serves me right. However, today it will be green tea, moderation and humble pie. I like feeling healthy. All that chocolate and late night snacking kept me awake till 2pm.

All the dogs are barking. I guess I should see what the problem is. I really need a rest break. I already, took them out, fed and watered them, mopped the kitchen floor and did the laundry for the geriatric dog.

Gaaaaak!

Glad you are feeling better. McDonald's is a BAD trigger for me. I love their fries. Fortunately we don't have one on our side of town! I am suffering from a sugar/caffeine crash. After the weekend, when I ate too much sugar and drank much more diet coke than usual, I am finding it hard to come down off of it. I have headaches and no energy. I'll bounce back, but it is taking longer than I expected! Drinking more water.

feeling much better today. Able to accomplish quite a bit.

I stopped at McDonald's on the way into town and got a grilled snack wrap and a cup of water. I don't know what they put in the snack wrap, but by the time I got to the bank my joints were swelled and my thumb and both feet had numb spots. I haven't experienced that in quite awhile. Then I had sugar and carb cravings like crazy when I got home. I think I will just stick to water at McDonald's from now on.

Very fatigued today with CFS. Hubby took one dog to town and all the rest of us are trying to nap.

I need more fluids. The soup is wonderful, but I got into the trailmix again and have trouble stopping.

Drinking water. I have to bottles upstairs with me.....

All my Twilight movies are at Step-daughters. She is watching them with one grandson who enjoys fantasy and sci-fi. Hope I get them back some day. She used to pass my movies or clothes that she borrowed on to her other friends. Hopefully at age 40 she won't do that.

The retirement seminar was very helpful. Next step is to send a request for an analysis.

I never back up my ticker or hotel floor no matter what the scale says. I am afraid of getting comfortable at the new higher weight. I just gut it out till I get back to my lowest weight again. I am glad you are leaving 210ville. You don't want to get comfortable there.

I need to find another leader for this team before April. Because I plan to be gone by then.

They served pizza and salad at the seminar. I ate the topping off the pizza, but the crust sat there too long and I finally ate it. I had an asthma attack and allergic reaction about an hour later. I am guessing it is the wheat and yeast. I just haven't had much of that since September.

I had water from my beverage for Happy Hour.

With March Break coming, we may have to have a Twilight movie marathon! emoticon My favourite kind of holiday is at home with the family with no obligations or time pressures. It is a total change from our normal hectic lives and is very welcome. One week to go until then!

I made a decision after my 3 mile walk this evening to officially leave the 210-ville team because I am NOT going back.

For happy hour had a diet coke (a treat I only allow myself once I have at least 6 out of 8 of my cups of water in)

Hope everyone had a great day.

Jacob here. I have always been a little enamored with men of American Indian decent, There is an earthy sexiness they have or maybe it has just been some pleasant memories. Hubby is part French Canadian Indian. He has a lovely tan in the summer and had dark hair. Anyway you understand my prejudice. And I absolutely love dogs.

However, Edward is cute as a bugs ear too. I do think that Edward and Bella deserve each other. I am done with their story as main characters.

Jacob and Renesmee are destined for greater things. Tell the girls I think that Leah and the South American half breed will imprint, but not until after he gives Jacob a run for his money with Renesmee. I think great drama will happen in South America and Alaska. I think that the witch twins will wreak havok or at least Jane to the point of annoying Aro. I think Fred will crop up in the new series and he may end up in the Alaska Clan.

I hope Stephanie is not done. I loved the Host too. If she doesn't write a sequel, I may have to write some fan-fic so I can have an ending. Might do it anyway next winter. For now I intend to garden and farm. I am really enjoying the choices.

Cathy - Thanks, the girls will love it. All three of us have read all the books and LOVE the movies - the only thing we disagree on is "camp Edward" or "camp Jacob". I'm an Edward fan and both girls are Jacob fans! emoticon

Meatloaf I made was the best ever. I need to be careful to keep the portions small.

25% with the CFS, so have had lots of lay downs today. I did walk dogs and wash mirrors besides other chores.

I have been happy all day. Functioned at 50% which is pretty good with the CFS. Visited GKs, went to tax place, Edward Jones, bank, feed store and two pharmacies. Cooked a fabulous dinner my husband did not eat. But, I sure enjoyed it.

For lunch, since I was in the big city, and running out of time, I drove through BK and got a six piece order of chicken fries, because they are dry and wouldn't make a mess in the car. I year ago I would have thought they were heavenly, not today. Today they were greasy, too salty and over spiced and the chicken had no flavor. I was longing for and missing my vegetables.

Good food can become addictive.

I had a diet coke for Happy hour and rice, green beans and a small slice of homemade meatloaf. I am going to pay for the coke by staying awake all night. But the caffeine did help get me through all the chores I had to do today. I need to go back to green tea tomorrow.

Hi everyone...welcome Michelle! We are warming up again here in Ontario after a cold, wintery week. I'm pretty done with winter. Last night we had ringette games in Kitchener, took us just under 2 hours to get there and 3 hours to get back in snow, snow, snow! It was a miserable drive. (That's my 3rd miserable drive in 3 weekends!) With the latest warming trend my husband has been driven to "spring" cleaning - I'm trying to stay out of his way emoticon

Hi Michelle, Glad you are here. It really is like a Grand Hotel in that people are here for a short while and then pass on through. I find it very exciting. Hope your stay is fun, productive and short.

I am feeling better, so think I will have peach tea for happy hour and some blueberries and oatmeal for a snack.

I live in Oregon on a wooded hillside and we just let the sheep deal with the leaves. Their little hooves mulch it back into the ground. We got a skiff off snow last night and more is predicted for this afternoon, so I had better get my hair dried and get in to town to stock up.

Hi Everyone!!

My name is Michelle. I live in eastern Kentucky. It is cool here this morning, but is supposed to warm up and start raining. We are under a flood watch till Friday morning. I am going to work on cleaning leaves out of the ditch before the rain starts. We live on the side of a hill surrounded by trees. We are continually fighting leaves. On the plus side this is a good way to burn calories. emoticon

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

So you are in the slushy stage. The weather man keeps threatening a chance of snow. I can see it in the hills across the river. But we are just wet down here in the valley

My potted tulip is almost three inches tall.

I went to walmart this morning and got more airborne. I hope to shake this soon.

It was actually easier to garden in Portland. Less critters that helped themselves to my garden. For many years, I would put on a pair of shorts no matter the weather, and go out the first weekend in February and plant my peas. I am still too sick to do much of anything outside, but my first round of peas is going to go in a planter on the porch before February is over. It is a goal. I won't wear shorts, although I do still dance in the rain.

I am out of airborne, so will have to drink green tea for this flu for my Happy hour drink and take a multivitamin for my snack.

Hahaha...we would have to dig through about 6 feet of snow and then the frozen ground to plant our peas. Don't think it's happening this weekend! We are supposed to warm up next week though, which will be a welcome change. Not even thinking about the garden until at least mid March.

I planted my first round of tomatoes in the peat pots. If I feel better today, I will plant the peas outside. They love an early start.

Green tea and Airborne for Happy hour. I still have a sweet potato to snack on.

Well, we had an exciting day! It is -20C and snowing so hard I can't see 10 feet out my window and the fire alarm went. Nothing like being outside without winter clothes with 500 freezing children! After 20 minutes it was determined that it was a false alarm. Despite the soup I had for lunch, I still haven't warmed up! Think warm thoughts for me. emoticon I am ready for spring!!!

My DIL e-mailed me a series of these. This is my favorite.

****OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES******

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget ...

This particular Sunday sermon....'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I seem to have hubby's cold/flu. Luckily he is better and is taking care of dogs and animals for me this afternoon.

Tonights Happy Hour drink was green tea with an Airborne tablet dissolved in it after it cooled.

Snack was a great green salad with yogurt. Of course that may have been dinner too. We will see how I feel a little later.

Sharon,
Has anything sprouted yet? I haven't planted anything in the peat pots, because I thought youngest GD might enjoy helping me. I don't know why I didn't think about doing it with oldest GD when she was here.

I just started a bunch of peppers, lettuce and tomotoes inside. Love to see the sprout and grow.

Had a wonderful weekend playing with oldest Granddaughter. She taught me how to use the paint program and I taught her how to use Movie Maker. She made two movies with her cartoons.

Feeling fatigued today so resting.

I miss happy hour, because it helps me with my planned snacking. Got a little carried away last night. It was popcorn and ricecakes, but too much quantity.

My plan for today is a teaspoon of frozen orange juice in my water and a half a microwaved sweet potato.

I will rest and think happy thoughts. If I feel better, I may go visit youngest grandchildren. I have some seeds I want to start indoors and GD, might enjoy doing that with me.

Cheers!

I have an easier time at home than work, because I actually cook and sit down to eat. I feel more satisfied. Of course all that snow and I suppose stress over not working does not make it easier for you. Two years ago we were snowed in for three weeks. Couldn't get out of the driveway. I had to slip and slide down the hill and catch rides to town to just go grocery shopping. That was the longest three weeks of my life. although the snow was pretty and I got lots of spring cleaning done.

For Happy Hour today, I am going to add a tablespoon of frozen orange juice to my water. The refrigerator is getting a little bare, but I still have sweet potatoes, so think I will microwave a half for my snack.

May our day be healthy, happy and wholesome.
Cheers!

Had a crazy snowy day here (and we weren't supposed to get this storm) over a foot of snow since last night! Managed to stay on track. It is much harder for me when I am at home than when I am working. Just finished my water, so will sip on a diet coke for happy hour. Really happy to be in 200-ville and really looking forward to leaving. emoticon

Visited with Sis on the phone for an hour this morning. I also did ten minutes of yoga for the second day in a row. Drinking water for Happy Hour and think I will nibble on the rich and yummy squash for a snack.

How are you all doing?
