We are all in this together but have a powerful God who is on our side. I'm praying for His intervention in all of this.

My son had offered to shop for us. Today he told us his girlfriend's co-worker has the virus and they used the same phone. Since his girlfriend lives with him they are both at risk of developing it now. I hope they don't. What really bothers me is she works in a vet office. The vet said since she was the only one in the office with her she only contacted her. None of the people that came in. They have another office so they told her to work at the other office by herself. That office is closed. She is the manager of inventory. My son has been working from home. Lot of good that did him. My older daughter is working from home but her husband is working out of the house. I hope he doesn't bring anything home to her. She has auto immune issues. My younger daughter and her boyfriend were in Pennsylvania visiting his parents but they are now back in Florida. Florida seems to be getting hit hard. Both of them have auto immune issues. So many people getting sick. I even read a 6 week old baby died. So sad. The Chinese should have come clean when it first hit them and not have let it spread.

My mother is getting weaker but still hanging in there. None of us are going over to see her as we don't want to have more people come in contact with her then she has now.

My husband and I are both high risk. I might have to go out shopping next week or the week after. We both have heart and lung problems. I also have diabetes which is not in a good place right now. I know a lot of you have health problems and I pray for us all not to get this virus. I have a friend that is a widow and she has been going out trying to get toilet paper and other paper products and Lysol or something. She went out again this week and was able to get the little tiny toilet paper. Couldn't find much. I've tried ordering for pickup and there was never any available times left. Now there are available times but they don't have a lot of things you can order. The high in demand items are you have to come into the store only. That is not good for the older folks or ones with health problems. Last I heard up here in our rural area there were 17 cases. All in the town that is 10 miles away where the grocery stores are. My husband and I were out the beginning of last week shopping. I just hope that trip was okay. They say if you get it you can show symptoms in 1-3 days and usually 5 days. They still have the 14 day limit to make sure though. The infectious disease Dr said it will probably go away in the summer but come back in the Fall and he doesn't think there will be a vaccine for about 18 months.

Prayers for everyone. Hang in there. It is all in God's hands. Liz

It is an interesting time of life now. We went to the grocery store and saw people wearing masks and gloves and others talking and laughing together definitely not using the 6 foot rule between the three of them. When I got home I washed all my produce, washed my clothes and took a shower. Hopefully that is enough to prevent any virus coming into our house. I would rather be over protective than not enough!

The President just extended the quarantine, so I guess it will be a really strange Easter. How are you all coping.

I am doing well except for the fact that more money will have to come out of savings. We had just arranged to start taking $ out of our retirement accounts, but advisor doesn't want to take it out until the market goes back up. Praise God we had a good cushion in savings! We are doing OK.

Made some masks. Will finish them and drop them off at JoAnns Fabrics. Maybe pick up milk and eggs and bread. Supposed to get allergy shots Tues. Will see if they are cancelling those or not.

Going to get old photos figured out and purge/organize some more. Slowly cleaning out the freezer.

Please pray for the grocery store clerks, first responders, fire, police, and our medical workers! They are tired and on the front lines. Some living in tents in their garages so they don't infect their families!

Hi CheriAnn,
The churches closed in Denver last week. Ski areas are closed too and we just got over a foot of snow and are expecting more. Businesses are closed. Work from home if you can and over 10,000 people applied for unemployment in one day just yesterday. Restaurants can do delivery or pick up but no one inside.

My mom's birthday is next week. She will be 92. With the Parkinson's she deals with enough. I pray nobody in the house brings the virus home. My sister is diabetic, her daughter in law is diabetic and then my mom and her problems. I had to go out shopping last Thursday and it was packed and not a lot to get. I am going to have to go out again for stuff. They are doing Seniors, high risk and pregnant people special days and the first hour after the stores open. The first one the store was already wiped clean from the day before. It's been that way everywhere. I was ordering online to be delivered but now they say out of stock. I can't find cat litter anywhere and cat food is in short supply. I ordered some of the cat stuff but don't know if I will get it. Of all things my husband is concerned that he is running out of Pepsi.

My brother in law had an accident with his mountain bike and just got out of the hospital from having a hip replacement. My sister in law, my husband's sister, has stiff person syndrome and she has problems of her know getting around. Now she is taking care of him. Was not a good time to be in a hospital either.

My daughter in Florida is visiting her boyfriends parents in Pennsylvania. Both of them are off work until further notice.

The media is pushing fear too much. The President and his staff have press conferences to update everyday and the press just asks the dumbest questions and tries to rile everyone up and panic them. I think that is why panic has set in. We have been living on most things we had from over a month ago that I had bought. We really need to get to the store. We have plenty of TP and paper products. It's food we need and cat litter. I really hate to go with everyone acting as if they need to stock up on everything. I have a friend that is a widow and not in good health that goes to the store every couple of days trying to find TP and hasn't been able to. Her stove is broke and she can only cook on the cook top and people are buying up canned goods now. The produce, milk, eggs, paper products disappear so fast when they come in we wonder if they were even there. The other day everything disappeared in 11 minutes. Another problem is people from the Denver area are coming up here to shop thinking we have more than them. So they are taking what little we do have.

Prayers for everyone. Those young people on spring break and under 40 think they are not affected so now they are all getting sick and they are the biggest majority that is in hospitals. Plus there are many that barely get sick and walk around infecting others. This generation is a bunch of selfish people. That's what happens when you take God out of everything, tell parents and schools they can't discipline their children. You end up with a bunch of selfish jerks and they are the future of the country.

Liz

As of tomorrow in Illinois we are all to shelter in place. Business owners fearing this could ruin their businesses. Churches are all closed and doing online services. Please pray for our neighbors, friends families and our country. Please pray for those isolated in nursing homes and in their homes.

Nothing happens that does not go thru the filter of God's hands, He is still on the throne! Now is the time to listen, pray, and seek His face.

Prayers for everyone's health and safety. Prayers also for those whose jobs have been affected by closures and healthcare workers who are putting their lives on the line for the health of others. Liz - prayers continue for your financial situation. You and your husband have been out of a job for way too long!

My husband had a job offer if the company got a government contract they bid on. They were pretty sure they would get it. Yesterday we found out they did not get it so no job. He had applied for the same job with another company that bid and they did not get it either. Nobody knows who got it and he never saw or got any calls from anyone else bidding. I was really hoping that would be the one. He keeps applying but nothing is being offered. We are so maxed out on credit cards and almost out of credit to borrow.

We just did our taxes and because of him not working for more than a year and taking the 401K, IRA and very little unemployment, we were able to itemize all of our medical bills, mortgage, etc and we are getting back almost $6000. We only filed yesterday because the one place he worked for a couple of days in December screwed up his W2. We had to wait for them to fix it. Hopefully we will get the money soon. Our COBRA ends the end of May so we need something with benefits soon.

I applied for a job and had an interview on Tuesday. They said I should hear back today or tomorrow. It isn't the greatest pay but it has benefits. My husband had to reapply for unemployment. It took them a long time to approve him again because he turned down a job in South Dakota. It was a two day job and we live in Colorado. The company wanted him to drive there. When they had him work in North Dakota they flew him. They finally said it was okay he didn't take it.

We've been having problems with our cars. If I do get the job I applied for I don't want it to turn into we need a new car. We can't afford one. The engine is going on my SUV. That is what I drive. The Subaru is not running right. Fuel mixture is wrong and we can't afford to fix it. My husband has been driving it occasionally and it hesitates really bad. I told him I don't like him driving it as it could be making things worse. The truck is getting close to 200,000 miles. It's the youngest vehicle we have, a 1998 Dodge Dakota. Bus service is lousy. It's not only bad for up here but Denver is cutting a lot of routes as they can't get enough drivers.

Hope you feel better CheriAnn and get to the Cancer Resource Center.

Sorry to hear about your mother. My mom has the Parkinson's and is getting worse. She has dementia and sees things that aren't there. The other day my sister said her son went in to see what she needed and she asked him who the woman was with him. He was by himself. She's in a wheelchair and getting harder to care for. My sister said back at the holidays she was going to start looking at a place to put her as she needs more care but so far she hasn't found anything.

My older sister in New Jersey is moving. Her and her husband bought a house in the Pocono's in Pennsylvania. He retired and already moved and she is trying to get the house in New Jersey ready for sale. She is still working. She goes up on the weekends to stay at the new house.

Prayers for all. Keep safe. Liz

How is everyone doing? Sherri? Starglow77? Liz?

I am just getting over another cold, I should be better tomorrow I hope to be able to sit at the infusion center at the Cancer building and tell people about the Cancer Resource Center tomorrow. I have been home trying to get rest and meds to kick this. DH has it also.

Finally got to see our financial advisor and pull money out of our investments. DH has been retired since the end of Oct but didn't get a Soc Sec check until Feb, he didn't know it would take 3 months to actually get a check after he filed. He got a check for sick days and unused vacation time so that helped bridge the gap somewhat.

Before I got sick I wrote my cancer story during a class at the Cancer Resource Center and they recorded it the day before I got sick. Stumbled just a bit. I need to continue to work on memorizing it, we are supposed to present them at Survivors week there as well in June.

Still working on organizing my house, getting rid of what I don't need. Slow going with me being sick. I need to get over to my parents house. Mom has something going on..bit of dementia. They are trying to sell their home in order to get a smaller one. She's not handling things well. She had an episode yesterday, things are in storage that she directed us to put there, but she's afraid we are all throwing away her stuff. Bow she wants to go to the storage unit and go through all of the boxes. Wow, my poor Dad he's been covering for her for a while so we didn't realize how bad it was getting. I am praying the house sells soon and we can get her in a house and unpack her stuff. Then we have to work on clearing out the barn.
My nephew's ankle and my daughter's ankle are healing slowly. So much going on. I need lots of prayers.

Praying for you as well.

CheriAnn, We've been getting the snow here in Colorado. We have 3 feet right now and we are expecting more Wednesday and Friday. My husband parked my SUV outside and put the Subaru in the garage so my SUV is buried in snow. The Subaru is having problems so I'd rather have my SUV back in the garage and put that outside.

Sorry to hear about your nephew and daughter.

I'm trying to eat better still. My blood sugar has gone sky high and I'm taking medication. I don't want to take more and I'd like to get off of what I am taking. I need to start doing something serious. My treadmill broke the other day. I was just shy of 2 miles when I noticed it had been smelling like burning wires. Then it just quit as I was on it. I want my husband to look at it. If it's the wires he may be able to redo it.

My husband was in North Dakota for 2 days last week doing a temp job. The company pays him peanuts but he an at least say he is working. We don't get anywhere near enough to pay bills. Almost maxed out on our credit cards. I'm hoping he gets something soon. He had a job interview yesterday that took 6 hours with 6 different people. He had to drive in the snowstorm to town for that. Today he was on another interview. One place said they will hire him if they get a government contract with the VA that they are bidding on. They thought they would know by the beginning of February but it hasn't been awarded yet. That would solve a lot of problems. Our COBRA is going to expire the end of May. It would be nice to have benefits and a steady income. Say prayers this comes through or something better. It pays less than what he made but so do all of the other jobs he is applying for. There are 400+ people applying for the same jobs as him. I applied for several and I get emails saying they won't move forward with me. Then it says they have had 100+ - 200+ applying for them. One place actually interviewed me a couple weeks ago in person and I thought it was promising but it wasn't.

Hope everyone is doing well. Prayers for all asked and unasked. God knows what they are. Liz

Well, my good start didn't last long. I did shovel snow a bit, but didn't do well after that first few days. Too much going on. Now my nephew fell, he's too large to have the surgery he needs, so his ankle will just have to heal. Then my daughter finds out today if she broke her ankle. I called my Mother and let her rant on the phone for about an hour. Gave her suggestions to make things easier, but she ignored it.
Today I go to a library and ask interview questions to a friend which will all be recorded. Trying to clear up my dining room, it is where all my projects get done, as we have a large table. Hope to get it completed today and start on decluttering my kitchen. Going to work on keeping my schedule from getting too full. It's all good stuff, but I wear myself out.

CheriAnn, Sorry about your mom. Glad she was okay to go home. Lucky she didn't break a hip or something.

Congrats on exercising. I keep telling myself I need to do more. I hurt all over. With all the cold it really bothers me. Then I have arthritis in my spine, hips, knees, ankles, everywhere. I need to get back to doing something. I sit too much. If I'm not on the computer then I'm watching TV. Used to be I would walk on my treadmill while watching TV. It would help bring my blood sugar down too! All the good it would do. When I do get up I am so stiff.

I need to work on the stress and food. The more stress I feel the more I keep eating what I shouldn't. Liz

Exercised 3 days on a row, now to keep this up! Mom fell and so was in the ER and then they kept her overnight. Oh my, I really do too much sitting, I need the exercise so my back doesn't hurt all of the time!

Goal is to do some type of exercise 7 days this week, and continue that on indefinitely unless there is a very good reason!

Of course all of the other stuff applies as well- more water, veggies, sleep, etc. emoticon emoticon

Thanks to you both for the prayers.

CheriAnn, I know what you mean about hoarding. My husband has taken over the whole house with all of his junk. If he dies before me it will be overwhelming to go through things. The kids will have to come help get rid of stuff with me. If I die before him he will be quick to get rid of my stuff which is in our daughters old room with a lot of her stuff still. Then he will start putting his junk in here. We've been in this house almost 39 years. When we first moved in he put a lot of his fathers stuff under the steps downstairs. Our house is over 2100 sq ft. If it was 10,000 sq ft he would have all the rooms filled with his junk. I can't even clean it. Good luck. Liz

Liz - I am really praying that something works out with the scheduled interview. You have had a long road of financial issues. It is exciting that your husband is also having interviews and a temp job. I hope the contract goes through and you can be less strapped for money.

My husband was gone this week to North Dakota. He worked for the same temp company for 4 days. They flew him out. They wanted him to go out to South Dakota next week and drive his own vehicle up there. It's a long haul from where we are in Colorado. He couldn't do it though. He has two interviews in person and two interviews on the phone. Monday and Tuesday. One company said they will hire him if they get the government contract they bid on. Pray they get it. I also have an interview on Monday. We are on our last two credit cards and they will not take us far. My husbands paycheck from last week in Wyoming came through but they paid it out wrong so he told me not to use the money until they straighten it out. He doesn't know if they will pay less, more of take it out of his check from North Dakota. We're about ready to go under if something doesn't come up soon.

Hope everyone is doing well. We are expecting snow on Monday and Wednesday. Not looking forward to driving it on Monday. I have to drive out of the mountains and into town for my interview. It's an hour or more to get to.

Always keeping everyone in my prayers and the prayer requests too. Anything you haven't asked, God knows and he will be there. Sometimes I know it doesn't feel like it but I'm not giving up. Liz

Thanks for the prayers. My husband had to stay late in Wyoming. He thought he was going to have to stay overnight again. They had network problems. Finally was up and he started home. Didn't get home until 11:30pm. Moved money around from credit cards. Got bills paid thru the end of the month. Will start working on next months bills as some are due in the first few days. Liz

Starglow77- praying for them both. I am in a group at the Cancer Center that I try to communicate with, and have several family members with it. I am active at the local Cancer Resource Center so I am surrounded by it regularly. It takes a toll.

Liz- Praying for you always.

Starglow, So sorry to hear of all of the cancer in your family. I will be praying for you all.

CheriAnn, Sorry to hear about Linda. Praying for you and your family.

My husband went up to Wyoming on Monday morning to do a temp job. He was in Cheyenne on Monday to setup 6 computers. They had problems. Not everything was right but he did what he could. Then he drove late at night up to Casper to do another one on Tuesday. Well, their network has been down all day so he is just calling and sitting around waiting for them to fix the network. He just called and said he will probably spend the night and have to do it tomorrow. It's already 2 pm. If they get it fixed and he sets up that computer he will end up having to drive 4 1/2 hours in the dark. He said Wyoming is pitch dark at night. Not like Colorado. He said Colorado is all lit up from cities from border to border. Wyoming is dark and desolate and hardly any towns in between. Hope he won't have to drive in the dark and can come home tomorrow during the day. At least they are paying him for staying there. I'm sure it must be boring though.

I was going to go to the store today but I'm wiped out from going into Denver yesterday to help my sister. Nothing important. It's just me and the cat here.

I'm not getting any tests done. I'm waiting until we are in a better position and have a steady income coming in and insurance that isn't on COBRA. We have to met $6100 out of pocket this year since the new year started. So far I have $88 out of pocket I owe for my oxygen. I'm trying to take money from one place to pay another and then figure out where I go from there.

Liz

Praying for Joshua and your family. My 2nd cousin Linda died yesterday from liver cancer. Pray for her family, it progressed very quickly.
I have a diet/healthy lifestyle class at the Cancer center tomorrow. We will see how that goes, then Bible Study tomorrow night. It's every other week. Tonight was our Neighborhood meeting, DH is already letting me know he doesn't like me gone so much. This retirement thing is going to take some getting used to. The Neighborhood meeting is only once a month, so it's really not all that much.

Liz, how are things with you? How is DH doing with the temp job? Are you getting that testing done?

Janet, how did the move go?

Requesting prayers for my cousin Joshua. Josh is unsaved and has testicular cancer. He's had 3 operations having both testes removed and having some lymph nodes removed just in the past one year. He now has been told the cancer is still there and they cannot do any more surgeries on him. The only option left is chemotherapy. Please hold him in prayer. He will be 39 this year.
He is unsaved. Him, his parents, sister and her family are all unsaved. Please pray first for salvation and also for healing for Joshua. I made him a comfort-ghan last year to let him know he is not alone in this that we are praying for him and loving him. Please hold him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

CheriAnn, Glad to hear you are feeling better.

The flu is going around in Colorado. I had a flu shot. My husband never gets one. My daughter had the flu but is doing better now.

My husband was offered a 2 day temp job by a temp agency he has worked for before. It is in Wyoming. The first one is in Cheyenne and is a 2 1/2 hour drive. He will leave early and hopefully the traffic won't be bad and it won't snow. This is Monday. Our cars are all old so I hope it makes it. The second one on Tuesday is in Casper. That is 4 1/2 hour drive. The company said they will pay for him to stay in a motel on Monday night but he plans on driving all the way home on Tuesday night. It doesn't pay much, $19 an hour. He thinks it's fine. I'm not sure. Pray all goes well.

Liz, I really don't know why that care facility was chosen for Sadie....but it sounds as if it's just the right place for her to recover to be able to return home again.

I'll keep you all posted if I see anything else posted on her behalf.

I know that the Lord can take a long time to give us an answer to our prayers....it does sometimes test our patience to the extreme. We've waited at least a year for this place to be available for us to be able to move.
Keep praying and wait for His answer.

CheriAnn, Sorry you have been sick. Praying you are feeling better now and you have a good new year ahead.

Thank you Janet for the information on Sadie. I wonder why they didn't try Hospice Comfort care. It's not for dying but for comfort. They come in and check on the person every week. A clergy member, a nurse, a helper for showers. They also provide medications the person normally takes and can help find someone to stay with the person as a companion/aide during the day. My mom does that. She is getting worse though so my sister is looking for a nursing home for her. My mom has Parkinson's and has to have pureed foods now. She also needs help with everything, dressing, on and off the toilet, in and out of wheelchair. She gets up during the night. Her dementia, which comes as the Parkinson's progresses, is also getting worse. I will keep praying for Sadie.

Janet, Praying your move goes well and you can stay put for a long time. I dread moving. We have over 39 years worth of junk in this house.

Looking forward to a better 2020. No jobs yet. Credit cards are almost maxed out. I took $500 the other day to pay a couple bills and the bill for that credit card itself is $323. They also charged a $25 fee for the cash advance. The more we take the more we owe. On the bigger amounts I did it all at once.

Prayers for all. Prayers for a better 2020 for us all. Prayers for my faith. My husband has said there is no God and he doesn't bother. I feel like my faith isn't strong enough as nothing is happening. Sometimes I wonder if I keep praying out of stubbornness. I see prayers answered for others and I'm waiting. Liz

Hi Ladies and a very happy new year to you all.

I know I'm not seen here very often but am still very active on SP.

I was getting worried about SADIE, she hasn't been posting for a while so I tracked her down on facebook and read this.....

Good morning Family and Friends of my Aunt Sadie Kelly, I received permission to share this information with you so that you all knew what was going on and you could keep my Aunt in your Prayers.

Some of you may know, since she shared the info before, that Sadie is battling cancer. She was recently in the hospital but because at home, itís just her and her son, there was no one to care for my Aunt while Robbie is at work. It was decided that for now, she would stay at a care facility until she is strong enough to go home.

Sheís doing really well and was glad to have visitors but could really use your Prayers. Oh and she wanted me to let you know that she doesnít have a computer where sheís at so she wonít be on FB for a while.

Please keep her in your Prayers, sheís one very special Lady! Thanks go out especially to my Aunt and Uncle, Kim McLaughlin and Cheo Yniguez for everything that they have done for Sadie but also for our entire family. They really stepped up to make sure that everything goes smoothly for my Aunt.

Thank you everyone!!!

I know we'll all join in prayer for our sweet Sadie.

Meanwhile....an update from me....

So we are due to move on Friday....almost packed up now, been such a long haul as we had the other flat to thoroughly decorate! One room was shocking pink!!
We're moving 5 miles along the coast so not far away. Yes another flat, except this one is bigger with a separate kitchen, but single and double bedroom instead 2 doubles. Hopefully we will be comfortable and won't move again in a very long time. This will be our 4th move since we returned from Spain almost 8 yrs ago.
To get through this work I've been back on steroids since just before Christmas....
Anyway, hopefully all this will soon be history and we can settle back into normal living again...

Blessings & hugs to you all emoticon

Sick all Christmas holiday, still a bit lingering, but am pretty close to being over it. Got to the Cancer Center to try their Pilates and a yoga class today. Feeling proud of myself!

Liz - I am a stress eater too, and I make excuses to eat over the smallest things. But you are going through some incredible challenges. I hope this year is not so difficult.
Itís now back to finding a healthy routine. I have been more consistent in getting into Godís word by trying to get up earlier. Itís amazing how I can read something that I have read many times before and then find a nugget that just amazes me.
I hope everyone reading this has an amazing day!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and safe travels. Enjoy family and friends.

We got together with two of our children the other day. One is working on Christmas and the other flew to Ohio to be with his girlfriend and her parents. My youngest in Florida had her boyfriend fly home the other day. He was leaving to Pennsylvania for Christmas with his parents, she couldn't get off. Then he was coming back and leaving in January for 3 months to work on a Disney Cruise ship.

My SUV failed emissions twice. We took it to a different mechanic for a second opinion on whether or not the engine was bad and he said it just needed spark plugs and ignition wires. It ran better but didn't help with emissions. Took it to the states mechanic for a free check up and they said the 5th cylinder is not working right, which means with the high mileage it probably needs a new engine. He also said the catalytic converter was bad. We are getting the catalytic converter replaced and hoping it will last at least another year. We don't live in an area with other transportation. We have the truck, which I have a hard time driving because of my hip, knee and leg problems. Then we have the Subaru my daughter and her boyfriend gave us. Most of the time it runs okay. Occasionally the check engine light comes on and the codes are emissions related but when we took it in to the mechanic the light was out and the codes disappeared. We just keep driving it for now.

I had a doctor appointment with my cardiologist Friday. He wanted me to go see a neurologist, the pulmonologist and the diabetic doctor. He wants me to come back to see his Nurse Practitioner in February and him in the Spring. He said I have decreased sounds at the base of my lungs. I also had an MRI of my hip and have tendinitis in several places, the Labrum (the cartilage around the hip), is partially dislocated. It helps hold the hip in place. I've been having a lot of pain from my hip down my leg. I have trouble sleeping, laying on that side, sitting, just about everything.

We are still living on credit cards. No jobs. Running out of credit soon. Only think left is two credit cards with high interest rates. Don't know how much longer we will have insurance or be able to pay bills. Thank you all for the prayers. I'm praying for you all. I know we all have our problems. A friend of mine lost her husband 2 years ago and she is trying to deal with everything by herself. She lives up here in the mountains alone. I check in with her everyday to make sure she is okay. Her health is not doing well.

My cat is getting old, he was 20 July 4th. He is not doing real well. He is almost completely blind, has a knee that dislocates, has arthritis real bad. He eats, sleeps and meows a lot. I try to keep him comfortable and he takes CBD oil. My husband misses having a dog. He wants to get another one when he gets a job. My husband went to his pulmonologist and his breathing is worse. She said it looks like he had some damage from the surgery that has partially paralyzed his diaphragm and that is what is making his breathing harder. He still walks everyday and is doing pretty well.

I guess we all suffer from the not so pretty side of aging. I think if I can just lose this weight things would be a lot better off. I also start out well and then something happens and I go off of eating right. I'm an emotional and stress eater. One day I will get it right. For now it's try, try and try again and pray, pray and pray some more. Liz

I have allowed the stress and self imposed demands to get way off track. I keep following off and yet keep coming back - so that is a good thing. Itís Dec 13 and I still havenít decorated for Christmas- but if thatís the worse of my problems, then thatís another good thing.
Liz - I am so so sorry for all the challenges you are going through. I pray that God uplifts you and your husband out of this extremely difficult period in your life.

Well my husband put a lot of money into getting the SUV to pass emissions and it still failed. No check engine light. I don't understand why it doesn't pass. He said no more. We need to use the gas up before the end of this month as the 30 day grace period ends then. Then he needs to clean it out and call to have the same place that took the other car this summer for junk. We might get the money back that we put into it trying to get it to pass. I am so disappointed. I pray and pray and I feel like I don't get answers. We are so far in debt on the credit cards because of no jobs for over a year now. Pretty soon we will have to live in the two cars we have left. I know they say in God's time but unless he brings a job that pays a lot of money to pay off all the debt we have I don't know what will happen. Sorry to sound so depressed but I am. I also have my MRI appointment on Friday. Hope that goes well. At least lets me know why I am having so much pain from my hip to foot and then the rest of the pain in my body has just decided to hang around. I also have a cardiologist appointment on the 20th and mammogram on the 23rd. I'm so tired of it all. I'll keep praying. I need strength and I need others to pray for us. My husband is not a Christian. We've been married almost 39 years, December 23rd will be 39. I've prayed for him all these years and nothing. Liz

Annaram, so sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort and peace for you and the family.

Happy Birthday Liz! Sorry your family wasn't with you during the holidays.
We chose to spend it with Dan's sister's family. My daughter went to my sister's. I missed seeing her, but love spending time with my nephews kids.

Trying to get my house in order still, find places for the stuff that Dan wanted to keep when we cleaned out his childhood home. I have 5 boxes of things to go to charity. He keeps looking in them and wanting to take things out though!
I spent today cleaning the kitchen, straightening the cabinets, scrubbing the floor, etc. I then took a nap, which iui s why I am still up. Need to get to bed, so I am not tired all day tomorrow!

Annaram, Sorry for the loss of the two women. Prayers for those children and all loved ones left behind. Good to know they loved the Lord. I know it's still hard on the ones here.

We went out to eat for Thanksgiving. Our oldest was supposed to go to New Mexico but it snowed and they couldn't make it in their car. They didn't even try. I invited them to go with us but she said they had some food at home and would just make that. I told her maybe Christmas will work out. Her brother is going to Ohio for Christmas. We'll probably just stay home for Christmas. This is the first time we haven't all gotten together.

Still looking for jobs. My husband has two in person interviews on Monday and a phone interview. Hopefully something will come up soon. We can't make it much longer. I haven't had any luck. I keep seeing the same old jobs being advertised and getting the same emails saying I'm not what they are looking for.

On Friday, December 6th, I have an MRI appointment. I've been having so much pain in my hip and down my leg. They are supposed to check my hip and my thoracic spine. Later this month I go for my mammogram.

My birthday was Friday. The year I was born I was born the day after Thanksgiving so it worked out that way this year. We didn't do anything. Since we went out to eat for Thanksgiving we couldn't really afford to do anything and it snowed. Today we went out shopping and there were blizzard conditions. It wasn't snowing but all the 2 feet of snow was blowing across the roads because of extremely high winds. 94 MPH up here. It also knocked out 4880 peoples power from downed trees. We still have power. I hope they can get the power up for the people that have medical devices. We use oxygen and so does my friend. She is near some outages but her power is okay. The highway got closed further up from us yesterday because of blowing snow and mutiple accidents and it is closed again today. A lot of people are stranded and they had to open shelters for them as all the hotels were filled. They told the people that are stranded to stay in their vehicles and call 911 to let them know where they are at and they would send people out for them. Hopefully the wind will quit soon.

Prayers for all. God bless. Liz

In the past 4 days, I attended 2 funerals - both incredible women, one in her 60s and one in her 40s. Both were loving mothers (the one in her 40s has 6 children) and both loved the Lord and were confident in His live. Very inspirational. And we just trust.
I feel sometimes that I I need new eyes - to see life through Christís eyes, to see the big picture, instead of getting mad at the guy who wouldnít let me into their lane. Kinda gives you a different perspective on things. I hope this new perspective stays, but I guess thatís up to me, huh?

CheriAnn, Sounds like you have your plans all set. Glad you enjoy your husband's family. When I married my husband his mother had already died when he was a teenager and his father had just died. I never met either of them. His sister didn't really like me. She felt I was marrying him for his money. He had used his inheritance to buy a rundown house with termites that I refused to live in and to pay off his student loans. We didn't have any money. Luckily the realtor that sold him the house bought it so he was even and she put it as a loss on her side. She did make commission selling us the house we live in now. My SIL later said she was made because girls should get married before boys and she was engaged but we married first. She divorced her first husband and has been married to her second for a long time now. They are both retired and travel a lot.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's breakup. That stinks when the men think they need a younger woman. It's just to make themselves feel better about getting older.

Glad you are making good progress on your FIL's house. Hope you get it finished up tomorrow. Don't do too much. My hips are really bothering me. Actually just the one. Getting in and out of the car or moving certain ways brings a wave of pain that brings tears to my eyes. It takes a while for the pain to calm down. I have trouble laying on my left side and that is where it hurts. My ankle does the same thing. The Tylenol the doctor had me trying helps briefly with the knee pain. I'm a little concerned about something though. I had black stools today a few times and I can't figure out why. Last night my sinuses were draining and now I'm wondering if it was a posterior nosebleed. If not that than I might have to go see the GI doctor. I have had pain and burning in my stomach. Plus nausea. If I don't eat it's worse but if I eat I get nauseous and then I nibble on crystallized ginger. Hope my husband gets a job soon. I may not be able to work. I'll have to talk to my primary care about if there is any way I could get disability. If I have to have heart surgery, knee surgery, shoulder surgery and figure out why my stomach bothers me I won't have time to do anything. If he doesn't get a job soon I won't be able to do anything. We can probably borrow enough to get thru February at high interest rates but then how do we pay it all back? Liz

We are going to my nephews for Thanksgiving. Love playing with his kids! My daughter will be going to my sister's house for Thanksgiving. That's an hour away, and although my parents will be there, I don't get to spend a lot of time with my husband's family so I jump at the chance to spend it with his sisters family.

Christmas we will celebrate a week earlier. His family and then my family. My daughter will be at one or both of those. She had a breakup with her boyfriend so she is navigating a new lifestyle again. He found a younger woman, she's 45. This was totally unexpected and hit her hard.

We spent the day cleaning out my FIL's house. We got a lot done . Finishing up tomorrow. My hips are pretty sore. The heavy stuff is out for the most part. I think we are skipping church tomorrow to get this done.

My husband never got called back about the California job. I'm glad. They said they would fly him out there to start and then he would have to fly himself home if he wanted to be home for Thanksgiving week as they wouldn't be working that week. All expenses would be his and I checked airfare and it was over $600. Then he said he would rent a car that he would have to pay for. They were only going to give him $20 an hour on top of his working hours for expenses, which he would have to use for hotels. Hotel expenses were expensive. All in all I think it would cost us a lot more money for him to do that one month job. I have relatives out there but not close to where he will be.

We are both still looking. I had really thought I had a change at that one job but found out 80 people applied. I was lucky I got an interview. I've applied for several more but nothing has come up. He got one last check from unemployment so I will need some extra money for December but not a lot.

Does everyone here in the US have their plans for Thanksgiving? I'm not sure what we are going to do. My daughter and her boyfriend are driving out to Albuquerque to spend it with his mom and step dad. For Christmas my son is going to Ohio to spend it with his girlfriends family. This will be the first time we aren't spending holidays all together. I guess it's fair. My birthday is the day after Thanksgiving. My daughters is the week before mine and my sons was 10/24 but he was sick so we were going to do something when we are all available.

I went to the doctor the other day. I've been having pain from my hip down to my foot and from my neck to my fingers. She wants me to try Tylenol Arthritis to see if it helps. I'm not supposed to take Tylenol because of a fatty liver. I saw her on Thursday. She said just take it thru Tuesday and then she will call me and see if it helped. That way she will know more if it's from the arthritis. It is helping a little but today I noticed I have black stools. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if it's something I ate but can't think of anything. I know when I was in her office the other day my BP was low. The nurse took it three times. It's actually lower at home at night but never low in the office. It was 110/68. My husband's is always lower than that so I don't know that it means anything. She also ordered blood work so I have been waiting for the results on that. I hate that it takes so long. When I go to National Jewish the blood work is in my chart the same day. They do it right there. My regular doctor sends it out, then they hold the results a few days for her to look at them and then release them to me. I always hated that because she gets so backed up it takes forever. When I was in there the other day they turned some of her appointments away and said they had to reschedule because they were 5 minutes late. I would have been furious as it takes me up to an hour to get to her office. I always leave early so I'm not late but you never know what is going to happen. I even check to traffic reports.

Anyway I told my primary care that my cardiologist wants me to see a heart surgeon. I told her he said since my cardiac cath was 5 years ago my blockages are probably a lot worse and that he tried to put me on a bunch of heart medications. I told her I tried one of the medications and it gave me bad chest pains about 8 hours after taking it so I'm not taking it any more. Another I found out was a calcium channel blocker and I can't take them. My previous cardiologist knew that after he gave me one and he didn't note it in my file. When I saw the NP in cardiology I asked why he would give me that since I couldn't take it. She said it's not in my file. Then he wanted me to take some other stuff that I've taken in the past that gave me problems. He said I know you had issues with it but try to build up to it by doing one a week, then two. It is a statin that causes muscle and joint pain and I'm already in over my head with that on my leg and arm. My primary was going to order a MRI on my hip and thoracic spine after the blood work comes back. Getting in and out of the car it a real problem. Besides my knee and ankle and foot and everything in between hurting.

Well I bored you enough with my issues. I'm still hanging in there. I did have a problem with eating the last week. Before I go to the doctor I always go overboard on what I shouldn't eat. Nerves I guess. I'm trying to get back on track. I even gained some weight in just a week.

Hope everyone is doing well. Keeping you all in prayer and very thankful you are all here. Liz

I have been down lately, and when I get like that, I retreat. And eat. When I came back today, I am humbled by your posts and what each of you are facing. Please know as soon as I am done checking in, prayers will said for you. Life can be so difficult. I am so sorry for the challenges. We have been promised that He is bigger then our problems, so while you must be exhausted, the ones that can will keep praying.

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all the day long. Psalm 25:5

My husband got a call today about a temp job that would last 1 month. Problem is it's in Pleasanton, California. I don't know if it's worth it. I was looking Pleasanton, California up online and it says it's very expensive. The company said they will fly him out but not home. They said they will give him $20 an hour towards living expenses out there. I saw a room for one night is $121. He would need transportation since he would be flying and a car rental is too much. I don't know where he would be working, if he could get anything close by to walk or how much it would all cost. Food is higher. He was all excited and asked when do you want me to start. After he got off the phone I started asking him these questions and he didn't seem to want to talk about it. I asked him if he looked into how much it would cost to get around, sleep, etc. He isn't looking at it realistically. I finally told him if he wants to do it and it costs more money out of pocket then he makes he will have to figure out how to pay for it.

He got his last unemployment check today. He only got 3 total in over a year. They told him until he works and makes at least $2200 he won't be able to apply for any more.

Please keep us in prayer. If he doesn't come out in the rears I'm all for it. We could use a break from each other. Liz

I am lucky, going to my nephew's house for Thanksgiving. I only have to make cheesecakes. Love spending time with his family, and my sister in law and her grandkids.

Our second snow of the season today. Looks like a few inches, and still snowing. I am hoping we have a bit more good weather to work on some windows before winter is here for good.
So glad I am retired and don't have to go to work and travel in this.

My friends from the Cancer center all went to Greekfest yesterday- too many desserts but not as many as in the past. Felt a bit yucky yesterday and stayed home from church. Slept in. Didn't go to water aerobics, but will do a couple strength exercise videos. Then I will make some bracelets to give away at the chemo infusion center at the hospital. We tell people about the Cancer Resource Center and give away things we make at our "giving back" group that meets once a month. Will help DH shovel when he decides to clear off the driveway.

I am just feeling that, especially with the holidays coming I am slipping! When I first lost a bunch of weight I was so excited, I would do anything to keep it up. Now I am letting the hardships of life (and I say that knowing that I am BLESSED!) really get to me. I am choosing to rest and relax, to take care of myself, rather than exercise, to take care of myself. I am allowing myself food choices I wouldn't have allowed myself in the past. And now with all of the eating holidays coming up, my head is filled with visions of stuffing and pies, lol.

I'm off from work today, will get on the treadmill after a weekend of pure sloth, and then get together my Thanksgiving day food list and grocery list. I have already bought my turkey and some of the canned goods. Now to figure out the rest.

How about you? Are you planning for Thanksgiving? Or will it be a rather quiet day for you?

Praying for you as always Liz.

Gr8fulwoman60- I am the same place you are. I was stressed out pre-retirement, and had to cut out some of my exercise to train. Then I wanted to get my house in order, so still didn't exercise. Now I need to get back to my water exercise, my yoga at the cancer center and pt exercises for my hips. I eat way too much sugar, need to cut back on that and eat more veggies/less carbs. I also am a work in progress, but I know what I need to do. Now to do it!
