Thank you so much for your prayers, ladies. I certainly do appreciate them. The viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is on Thursday. Depending on whether the place we stay has Internet or not, I may not be able to check in on those two days.

That's wonderful, Connie! Yay YOU!! Keep up the good work. I rejoice that God has placed the truth of hope within your heart. That makes the grieving process so much easier to bear. He is SO faithful! Becca is in my prayers. What an exciting thing for her to be doing. How is she liking it there?

Good morning!

I had a victory this morning... I stepped on the scales and I'm down 3 pounds. Of course you can't see the difference but I can sure feel it. I feel so much better since logging my food and faithfully exercising. This is a good day!

I will pray for Don's family. My daddy died 5*5*07 from kidney failure and my sister (she was 55) on 5*24*08 from breast cancer that had gone into her brain. It was a relief for them to no longer be suffering but the pain of missing them is still so great. Saying we are blessed to have the hope and promise of heaven is an understatement. I was with both daddy and Jan when they died, I was grateful for that but sometimes that picture in my mind is hard to see over and over.

How is Laurie doing? What an awful situation for the family. I will pray.

I would encourage you to go to www.deathisnotdying.com and listen to Rachel's story. What a testimony of God's grace. What have I to grip about?

I would appreciate you prayers for my daughter, Becca. She is in Africa right now working with a team from the university she attends (LeTourneau University in Longview TX). Her job is to study how the African people learn so better teaching materials can be made for the prosthesis's that the other part of the team makes. Thanks loads....

I hope you all have a grand day. I still need to go to each of your pages to get better acquainted with you. I will do that soon.

Blessings ~ Connie

It's so good to see the victories and struggles of your lives. I thank God for you! Yesterday was the first time I've hit all the nutrition goals at the same time. I'm usually under on at least two. I got outside and walked, which is no small deal for me. I've spent the last 20 years in front of my computer, often transcribing well into the wee hours. Getting up to walk, other than to go tinkle, is a huge work of God in my life. I am rejoicing in His creative power that makes all things within me new!

Praise the Lord! You are so right. We can always find someone who is in a worse place than we are can't we?

Yesterday was a very emotional day. I kept ever turning to the Lord for comfort. My eating was affected, but I won that battle.

New day! emoticon

Great day yesterday - no soda, 8 cups+ of water, no sweet treats at all. I'm excited about another day.
God is so good. He is "mind full" of me. WOW!

My Heather went to see Laurie yesterday. Her magnesium levels are improving. Her memory is improving. The hospital may actually send her home with a defibrillator vest that she will have to wear 24/7 for three months. Your prayers are making a difference in this young ladies life. Thank you ladies. My problems - such as we need to finish painting around one of the outside windows or we need to put up baseboards in the living room -are really nothing compared to what others are going through. I think I will take a break from whining today. emoticon

The last few days have been very sad and trying for me and my family, and it's not over yet. My youngest (still over 50) sister-in-law, Laurie, was found dead in her car by her husband on Saturday.
Needless to say (I think), my food intake and sleep have suffered seriuosly.
Please be in prayer for my family as we make final arrangements and attend the funeral, but especially for my brother-in-law, Bill, his daughter, Amanda and Laurie's mother (my mother-in-law), Mary.

SavedtoServe, my heart goes out to the Smith family. They continue to be in my prayers. A timer is a great idea! Id begun to do that to cue me to get up and MOVE out of this chair. It works!

JanetElizabeth, the goal keeper?! TOO funny. Twins, no less. What a double blessing for you! Bug bites are so miserable. Are your bites less inflamed today?

A huge thanks to all of you dear sisters for sharing your lives here. You bless me.

Thanks Janet. The thing is I thought I was eating in moderation, but the food choices were extremely heavy in calorie. I cut way way back on portion size and drank more water when I dropped that weight back off. My own cooking has been so lean for so many years that I can have larger portions and still either maintain or lose. When I get into trouble is when I can't seem to leave the nuts alone. I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian. It was wonderful to have a change of tastes in foods, my sister-in-law Roz is a wonderful cook, but I am very very glad to be doing my own cooking again.

My sister Leslie brought all the fixings for my Corn/Lentil Chili. I gave her my recipe. I often create recipes, and she wanted a healthy choice to take to the reunion. (she broke her ankle in seven places in March and couldn't stand long at a time)That gave me a healthy vegetarian food choice at the reunion. Isn't God good? I took a large bag of apples for my dish to bring. That soup has only about 63 calories a cupful. Leslie has been using it to help her lose weight. She's lost 44 pounds since January and is still losing slowly... even while sedentary. She's eating a lot of low calorie soups.

Roz got to try my soup when I made it and loves it. She now has my recipe. Isn't that cool. Letting my light shine. :^) ....Spreading the health.

Another cute one! Kid's say the cutest things. Smiles are so good. emoticon

PS. I am praying too.

Peggy, welcome back and glad to hear you're back on the wagon again.

Missy, that was funny...don't they say some funny things! Last Christmas my twin grandsons were to be in the nursery nativity. Alfie said to his his mum "Jack is going to be the goal keeper." She wondered what he meant? It was the Inn Keeper of course!!LOL!!

SAVEDTOSERVE, well done for getting off those sodas, they really are nothing but chemicals and not good for our bodies. I drank my last Diet Pepsi in 2004, had been drinking them since I was 15!
I agree...water is the best replacement and people can learn to love their water. Just build up to getting your 8 glasses in every day. It's the best thing for our skin and bodies (kidneys etc) in general. emoticon

Sadie, how did your check up appointment go? I'm sure all was well. How are the home improvements going...any sign of normality returning?

We're told it's the hottest June on record here...I agree with that! Poor Joseph doesn't feel too well, makes his head feel sore etc. He so wants to work outside but that's not very practical. My mosquito bites are not itchy just feel very sore and swollen, am treating them, especially the one on my face. I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow morning and don't want a swollen face!

Dear ladies,
Please continue praying for Jared and Laurie Smith. Little Logan went to heaven about 9:00 last night. Laurie is back in ICU. Her magnesium has bottomed out and her body does not seem to be absorbing the magnesium supplements they are giving her.
Last night I started a health/life journal. It has been 16 days since I had a Pepsi or any soda. That is huge for me. But I did not replace it with water. I replaced it with sweet tea, flavored teas and extra coffee. Today I am starting the water. I am even taking a timer to work to remind me to drink my water. God is so good and so patient with us. I'm glad His mercies are new every morning.

Peggy,
You're back home now and will right into your routine tomorrow. Today is almost over!
Thank the Lord that you caught 5 pounds and won't allow it to pile up. I do the opposite. Let the pounds pile on before I cry out! Your way is best. I actually should say, "God's way is best" and I know that you'll agree.
In Christ,

Peggy, isn't it wonderful that He knows our innermost beings and still says, "It is good"?! Oftentimes I wonder how that can be possible. I know me at least a little bit and I don't always think, "It is good." Then I remember that His ways are not my ways and His ways are higher than mine. I'm so glad for that!

You reminded me of a cute joke. A little four year old girl was in church with her grandmother and the minister said, "From dust we came and to dust we shall return. We are but dust." The little girl turned to Grandma and asked in a whisper, "Grandma? What's butt dust???"

Hi everybody. Hope you all have felt my prayers. I certainly have felt yours! I'm back home. I did so well the rest of that stay that I have five pounds back off. Got to change that ticker again. :^) Today has been a battle. I only had time for an apple (my last one) this morning before church...then afterward they had sweets for celebrating Father's Day. There was absolutely nothing healthy there. I usually take fruit, but did not have any to take nor time to make something healthy. I took the one with the least sugar, but while I was cleaning up had some after dinner mints... Not good. Boy since I have been back home it's been rough. I made another poor choice, because I'm tuckered and had company. What I needed was a nap not food. I'm going to go do that now. I am back to healthy choices starting this very moment. I've got V8 in my frig. :^) Just remembered. Not even going to have that until later. I am so glad that God knows I'm made of dust and pities me.

Hi everyone,
You're right Sadie, our homes are only on loan to us while we are here!

The picnic yesterday was lovely. We went a little further along the coast to a nautical bay area and there was a wooded area with tall trees for shade, so we parked the car under there and got out the table and chairs...sat and read our books, talked and enjoyed our food. There was a lovely cool breeze off the sea...very nice, thank you Lord.

I know it's Fathers Day for you all and it's also today in the UK too.

Praying for all those sick and needy ones and Oh Cheri...toothache has to be the worst kind of pain! I'd rather give birth!!LOL!! I really hope he is able to get some treatment quickly.

How tragic for your sister-in-law. I pray for her to be comforted by our Comforter. I pray for you to be gifted by God to point her to our strength and light to her at this difficult time.

Poor husband! Toothaches are such all-consuming pains. I hope he is able to get what's causing it repaired so that he gets relief. You hang in there. We are here for you. Be kind to yourself, my friend, just like Jesus is toward you.

Well, haven't been on for a few days...too busy. Fri worked, then Chiropractor w/DH then on to "birthday pie night" at Baker's Square w/the girlfriends. Made good choices~~fresh strawberry pie.

Yesterday the power was out for several hrs. Got ready in candlelight for my neice and nephews Grad party. Sister in law was not having a good day, her father is dying of cancer and wanted to make to make it to the party, but was too weak. She is having a hard time since her mother passed a couple of yrs ago from cancer as well. Had only one piece of cake and did a little punch instead of the soda....

Today DH is not feeling well~severe toothache so I gave in to stress eating a bit. One muffin and a couple of cookies and I still have not made it to my Father's house! Will take my own water and snacked on a couple crackers to try and take away hunger/cravings....

Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Garper, your BBQ sounds great! It's so important that we do not keep this message of redemption inside the four walls of the church. We must continue to be right where Jesus would be... with the lost! Bravo for your church recognizing that! Glad to hear the positive report for your pastor's daughter and her unborn babe. We will keep praying!!

emoticon

Helen, sounds like a lovely day. I'm so glad you had such a grand time.

I'm trying to stay within the SP guidelines for calories and fat, which are quite a bit higher than I have been eating for fat. It's not easy to balance it all out, is it?! I'm gonna keep trying it for a couple weeks. If I don't lose as I've been losing, I'll go back to Plan A!

Keeping our entire team in prayers for all spoken and unspoken needs. Our Father knows them all as He knows each hair on our heads. We went to our 15 year old grandson's birthday party this afternoon...ate healthy and stayed within calorie range. He had broken his cell phone so we got him a new one that he uses when he is done with soccer practice. He was pretty excited about that...as well as the BMX bike his mom and dad got for him. He said it was the best birthday ever!!! We had a great time just visiting and chatting with several of his friends also. We had one gully washer and his soccer practice was cancelled. Within two minutes of cancelling, the rain stopped, the sun came out and the day was beautiful!!!
Hugs,

Blessings all,
Today we had a BBQ/shower for one of our pastor's 2 pregnant daughters. We had it at church with mostly unsaved friends, relatives and co-workers of theirs. It's the 1st time some of them have ever stepped onto church grounds. We wanted them to experience being around a bunch of christians so that they could see that we're not weirdo's, but just regular people capable of having a great time. And it was a great time! I think several of them plan on coming for the service tomorrow. Christian & Adam, her husband, also lead the worship team so that's also a draw to them. Of course, sometimes the "team" is just the 2 of them! We're a small country church. Some of you may remember my asking for prayer for pastor's other daughter in Florida. (the original post is under general topics, "Prayer for my pastor's daughter") The doctor is happy with the weight the baby is gaining, things are going as well as "the world" can expect at this time. But we know the things our God is capable of! They will be doing a C-section sometime around the 19th of July. They don't want her going into labor, too much stress on the baby. I will keep everyone updated when there's any further word. Thanks to everyone for their posts. I agree with Yatmama, they're encouraging to read! I feel a part of a very powerful community of prayer! Blessings to you all.

Thanks for all those praying for Laurie and little Logan. Laurie was moved out of ICU. Her vision is much better today. She is still having short term memory issues. Of course, they are being very cautious with her heart and blood pressure. Little Logan has a long ways to go. Your prayers make a difference. Have a great Sunday tomorrow. America needs men of God in the pulpit and listening ears in the pews. I love Sundays.

I'm praying too for Laurie & baby Logan, our Lord is Able!

Sadie...I know you'll get through, somehow the Lord brings us through these situations! emoticon

Jan...where are you? Your temperatures sound like ours in southern Spain!! Keep Cool!!

Hi Kate, yes church friends and family are truly a blessing from the Lord, what would we do without Him or them? That was nice to celebrate your friend's birthday with him.

Just off to the coast...packed the picnic & water, hope we can find a shady spot because it sure is hot out there...!!
Have a blessed day everyone.

Praying for Laurie and Logan, for a long, healthy and joyful life together with their family.

I went to a 58th birthday party today for my friend, Don, given by his sweet wife Marion. He is in his final days here on earth with brain tumors and she wanted us all to come and celebrate with them throughout the day. They love the Lord and their marriage has been a wonderful view of how Jesus means it to be. Don's in a hospital bed, mostly sleeping but he did open his eyes when I wished him well. Their home is full of love and peace.

Friends brought food and there was tons to choose from. I tried, but didn't overeat! Probably because of the healthy choices.

I thank God for my church family!

Praying for Laurie and her baby and extended family. Sadie, you sure have a lot on your plate. It's good to have you here to share with us. When I get overwhelmed, I start looking for all the little "gifts" God gives me throughout the day. I live in the country, so seeing a foal gambol in his pasture, a flock of geese flying in formation, a bird sitting on a branch, my cat asleep in the sun. All these small things that make me stop for a moment and savor the pleasure they give me. These little moments of rest and pleasure are all around us, we just need to learn to be aware of them. God is good all the time!

Daily accountability - now that is what I need. Today was not a good food day - quite stressful actually. One of my daughter's friends, Laurie, who just had her fourth baby about two weeks ago, had a heart attack last night and a stroke and lost her vision for about 8 hours. Laurie is only 26. Please pray for her and for her new son, Logan, who weighs just a little over 2 pounds. Pray for strength for the family and that God will calm Laurie a little so her heart and blood pressure can stabilize.

My goodness Sadie, that's so much. I admire the way you get through it all and still keep up SP. Prayers for your appt. and for hubby. I can only imagine having a husband in long term care.

I mowed the lawn this morning at 8, as we had a heat advisory. Heat index was at 105 starting about 10. Brutal, but par for the course around here. I've felt good from the exercise all day! It's amazing! Did well on food, as well.

Good for you. I'll be praying for you as well as your husband. Since I'm now single again, I just sold my house to my son and his wife and they took over with construction, doing it their way. I'm in a condo around the corneer from the grandbabies, and this is just GREAT.
