I used Leslie Sansone's walking DVD and walked the entire 4 miles. I felt great about it but when I looked at my pedometer, it said I had walked a little over 2.5 miles! I kept up with her pretty well so I'm think my pedometer must be off. I do carry it in my pocket. Maybe I'll try on my side.

Kate: I have an Omron look-alike. It is a LifeFitness made by Omron exclusively for CVS. The instructions say it will work in a purse or pocket, but is most accurate on the waist just above the knee.

Funny Story: A gal on another team wore hers on her shoe. Every day she recorded 10-12 miles. I couldn't believe her weight wasn't coming off. She was younger (not in that 50's stage of natural weight gains) & had a healthy attitude. I just figured a medical issue was standing in her way or something.

One day I asked how she can consistently get soooo many miles?
Her Answer: I wear my pedometer on my shoe & just tap my foot under my desk all day long!

That was the day I committed to myself "To thine own self be true".

Kate, most of my jeans/pants have pockets, so I clip my pedometer onto my pocket and clip the safety strap to either a belt loop or the waist of the pants. Mine is an Omron as well, and I love it! Martha

I wear my pedometer on my waist. I know once I had it in my pocket and it didn't record as much as it was a BIG long pocket. Not sure if it helps or not.
What brand of pedometer do you have? Mine is an Omron. That may make a difference as my ones before my Omron didn't record as accurate. Hope this helps, have a good weekend.

Hah! I wore the pedometer at my waist and recorded 30 for yesterday, even tho I walked a LOT! Wed I wore it on my shoe, got 1310 which was about right, Tues I wore it on my pocket and it read about half.

Where do you wear it? I'm so glad I can ask you sisters dumb questions!

I truly believe that the Lord has provided an alternate type of treatment for my back. I had prayed about it and this just all came together in a way that is more than coincidence! I had my first "decompression" treatment today and will have another tomorrow. It makes sense to me, too!

I am with you Deb. I do very few & few short higher intensity stints & it seems to be gradually building on it's own with little to no additional effort from me. I just last longer if I am consistent. If I back off, I have to rebuild - which is where I am now.

Beautiful morning for a walk! I did 50 brisk minutes, even adding a few (very few!) slow jogging steps for a short (very short) distance.

If felt wonderful to move my muscles and get my heart beat up.

I will keep you in my prayers. When one's back hurts it hard to do anything. Remember that God doesn't give us anything more than we can carry and there is suppose to be an escape. I will be praying for you, for wisdom and healing too. Trust God He will come through for you! emoticon I'm sending you the world/earth as God has it in HIS hands! I am really slowing down. My back is giving me all kinds of trouble and now the pain management doctor is sending me back to the surgeon. I cannot see another back surgery! Please pray for wisdom on my part so that I know what direction to take from here.

820.1+8.8 today= 828.9 miles to date.

Kat...we are not in competition with each other...only with ourselves..... a few extra steps per day makes a difference in how you feel!!!

I take a 6:30 AM walk in my neighborhood...where I pray for the folks who live there...and since I am in a rural area...I pray for their crops....their animals....their jobs their children just any direction I can pray..(including their salvation)
I make habit of never taking elevators for less than 4 flights of stairs....also when I go to the grocery store... I walk the perimeter one time, inside the store,,,before I put anything in the cart. You can march in place while watching TV...chatting on the phone...peeling potatoes....you name it!!! The purpose is not to show up anybody else...just to get yourself as healthy as you can !!!!!
