Thanks Len, I am feeling a little bit better today. Fever broke sometime during the night. I woke up drenched and freezing! Still feel exhausted though, so just rested most of the day today. Looks like that's the plan for this weekend as well for the most part.

Enjoy your weekend all :)

Well, I exercised this morning for 13 minutes even though I felt awful. I ended up getting that "thing" that's going around. 101 fever, congested, not really coughing but my lungs feel like they're on fire. 2 of my patients and their families have it. Even though I was vigilant with the hand washing, when patients cough in your face while you're giving care, well, I guess it was bound to happen. oh well. I'm off tomorrow and this weekend. Hope to be in the pink by Monday. I'm just going to rest, drink lots, gargle, and Vicks it up!
I haven't made up any goals yet for April. I'll have to ponder that one tonight.
Have a great weekend all..

Sometimes old habits are hard to break. I have been pretty good, but not perfect, in my eating habits lately.. resisted a lot of things... so feeling pretty good about that.

Great idea with the water. Just keep it handy, and drink whenever you can. It has to help.

Good luck with your program.. I know you will do well. Have a great day!

Ok so - why do I know all the right things to do - and then not do them? Watmeer has been on my list for a long time and I do not drink enough. Im going to start April with drinking at least half gallon every day - working up to a gallon when and if I can. OK - so thats not such a moneumental change............................. lets see what it changes on my body.

What is it with this weather? It was 32 when I woke up this morning.. What happened to Spring? Oi!
All goals met again today.. The one thing I noticed about the exercise is that I have more mental clarity. My jeans clothes are fitting better even though the scale stopped moving. It's ok, I can see a bit of a difference.. Yippee Skippee! LOL

Sorry you're not feeling well Lester. Try to gargle with Listerine at least twice a day. Also, Vicks vaporub works wonders for congestion and just feeling icky! Slather some on your chest, under your nose, a little across your forehead and on your temples, and if you're coughing lots, put some on the soles of your feet and put on a pair of socks to sleep. I'm serious, this stuff works better than any prescription or OTC cold/cough medicine! Tea and honey also is great. Honey has antibacterial/microbial properties and helps to kill off germs, and the hot tea is just great for congestion. Hope you feel better soon!
Great idea Diane to get rid of the goodies. I really didn't buy any desserts/sweets other than a bag of reeses peanut butter eggs and fortunately my kids ate most of those.. LOL.
Still meeting all of my goals..Yippee Skippee!
Enjoy your evening all :)

It was okay for me. Unfortunately, I got some kind of a cold. A lot of wheezing, coughing, and throat irritation. Oh, and can't forget the low grade fever of 100.7. I was quarantined. Did not want to infect anyone else, so I stayed home. I didn't feel much like doing anything anyway.
Went to the doctors yesterday and he prescribed levoflaxcin (I think that's it)and I'm already starting to feel better.

Sounds like everyone had a nice holiday :) I worked, but I did treat myself to some kielbasi and sauerkraut and home made macaroni salad :) After that I was too full to eat anything sweet with the exception of a snack size reeses peanut butter egg. It is a must to have a piece of chocolate on Easter isn't it? Lol.
Glad the sun came out this afternoon. Most of the vegetable seeds I planted indoors have started to sprout. I can't wait to get into my garden and start planting! I have to roto-till the ground though which won't be a whole lot of fun. At least once that's done, my seedlings can go in after I harden them off.
Enjoy your evening all :)

Glad you got to treat yourself... and know you will follow through and do what you need to do as well...

Went nuts on desserts last night.. got my sugar fix and then some... lol.. but I will be good this week.

That is a lot of water to drink in a day... I know I drink a lot... not sure if it is a gallon or not..

I want warmer weather too... I like being outside more..

Good luck. Have a great day!

well - my Lenten sugar fast is over..................... had two cravings and satisfied them both - ate 2 dishes of ice cream - and a package of funny bones. talk about junk = but now its out of my system for awhile again - and Im back to little or no sweets. Gave everyone all the sweet leftovers to take home.

I would like to make april - water month. Id really like to drink close to a gallon a day - but I cant seem to conquer that. thats alot of water to drink in one day I can do about half - but Im not consistent with it and thats going to be my April change.

hoping for warmer weather so I can get out to the garden

yesterday was definitely a chilly day to work outside. I painted a section of my chain link fence. Thats going to be a project for sure. The one section took longer than. I thought it would.

Ok so - cooking for my family today - nice to have them here for a holiday dinner.

Lent is over so I can enjoy some dessert this time. Just want a little dish of ice cream.
Everyone enjoy the day

going to be a beautiful day - so I think Im going to paint my chain link fence. Its ugly and I got some silver outdoor paint - and that should brighten it up a bit.
Loving how the garden is starting to pop. Time to start working the soil - and get it ready for some plants to go it. Im thinking we are past frost - hoping we are.

Enjoy the day everyone...........

I need to incorporate weight training as well in my exercise program. I've just been concentrating on cardio, but more so, just making it a habit!
I didn't do my second bout of exercise today. I didn't get home from work until a little while ago, and frankly, I just don't have it in me! I will add more time tomorrow to my workouts. Other than that, all goals met!

Diane - I have found using free weights = as the single most successful effective thing I have learned in fitness. Im starting to see muscle definition - and Im definitely stronger in general.

Start simple................ use 5 pound weights - and start with the strength training video here in SP. It will get you started in the right way.

Im still in those 130s. Just a few more days of Lent - and hoping I can keep up the good eating behavior. I think I can.

Aww. Karen. Sorry your knee is acting up! Hope it feels better soon. I'm surprised the shots didn't last! I've heard of people having great success with them. Maybe give the doctor a call and let him know what's going on?

Keeping up with my goals, and increasing fruit/veggies wherever I can.

Hi everyone! I feel as if I am on track to meet my March goals. I've been pampering my left knee a bit, using Salon Pas patches and Advil when it gets really bad, and making sure I stretch really well after I ride the bike. It's the same knee I had the series of 3 shots in, but I'm no where near the 6 month time frame for how long it's supposed to last. Everyone else seems to be doing really well - great job!!

Congrats on the 2 pound weight loss Diane! Good for you!

Happy to say I'm still on a roll here meeting all of my daily goals.
We got a little bit of snow here in Forked River. It started melting as soon as the sun came up for a bit. At least the parkway was fine for the commute this morning.

Got home safe. Lost 2 lbs on my trip. I attribute it to mindful eating, no late night snacking and daily workout. Hope to keep up the momentum.

Jazz-- just take care of yourself. The other gym-goers thank you for keeping the germs home. Just remember to take it slow a day or so when you do go back.
Whoo-Hoo for you seeing 130-land. I hope to tread to that world soon again (end of April?).

Diane--Great job! Walking is great. Food really is the biggest part but it's great to just keep moving as well.

Phoenix--Great job with keeping with the goals!

there it was on the scale this morning. 139. I have not been in those 130s for a really long time. Its workinbg - those old tried and true things are working . Ive been drinking 5-6 large water bottles each day - eating cleaner - and working out ( although I have not been to the gym in 4 days since Ive gotten this cold. Will be back to it monday.

happy to see the lower number on the scale.

Good day. Stayed on target with eating, including a treat at the smoothie shop.
Knee seems to be in good shape after a few days of easy does it. Hit a record number of steps today.
Now I'm doing the ANTI-SNOW dance. I don't want to see anymore of that stuff now. I'm so ready for Spring.

Yay Diane! It would be great if you can stay off of the medication. Some of these meds cause so many side effects, you have to wonder which is worse, the sickness or the cure! Keep up the good work!
NJ Jazz-the best thing for you to do is rest! If you need to move, gentle stretching maybe would be best, just to keep your muscles and joints limber.

Oh and one last thing. I went to the Cardiologist this morning. He said my blood pressure was excellent. I said that was surprising since I'd not taken my pill for 3 days. Haven't been able to get to the pharmacy to pick them up. He said since I've been exercising and eating better maybe I don't need them anymore. So we are trying an experiment. Not taking the pills and checking my blood pressure on my own every day for then next couple of weeks. It would be great if I could eliminate the need for them. emoticon

I think you are right about the food being the real key Phoenix. But I'm still enjoying the walking so hate to give it up. Good to hear you are still going strong with your goals.

I was able to walk today and did a 20 minute power walk instead of trying to jog. much better idea - thanks Jazz. I hope I did start again too soon. I just couldn't stand sitting around now that I am so motivated to move. I soaked in a hot bath right away and now I am icing my knee. Hoping to keep it happy.

Hope you don't get too under the weather with the flu Jazz!

wow everyone is going great................. so sorry about your knee Diane. I think powerwalking is bettre than jogging at this point. Easier on the body. Heal it before you try that again.

Im trying hard to drink water all day. Two glasses before lunch - two before dinner and two at night..Using a large Dunkin Donuts free thing I got - trying to work my way up to a gallon a day. Just not easy......... but I can feel that I am flushing myself out. and what happens is - you are so full from the water - you snack less. maybe thats the whole key and not the water at all.
Have a bad cold - or the flu so have not exercised in 4 days............... had a fever for 2 and am trying to reover before I go back. Fortunately - not feeling well means I dont have much of an appetite.
Happy weekend everyone

Aww... Sorry you hurt your knee Diane. I hope you recover quickly! Slow and steady wins the race. I think the food thing is 75% of this whole losing weight thing. As for exercise, you can always work your upper body while you're waiting for your knee to recover. Spark has some really great chair exercising videos, and you can modify them for your needs.

Congrats on making good choices PostalJo! emoticon

As for me, I met all of my goals again.. Yippee Skippee!

Enjoy the weekend all.. The temps are going to drop and snow is on the way.. Stay warm!

Hello all. Glad to see so much positive action going on here. Very inspiring!

I'm trying to keep on the positive myself tonite. I have been doing so well. Really feeling good about exercising, so good that the night before last I attempted a bit of jogging. It felt good!

Unfortunately it wasn't so good on my bad knee. I've aggravated something in there. By mid-day yesterday I needed crutches to walk. Spent the night and all day today icing and elevating it. That and some Celebrex and I am walking on my own tonight. But looks like it will be a few days before I can really get back to walking on my treadmill. And no jogging. I'm on the slow track for awhile. And I'm missing my yoga class tonite. Can't get up and down to the floor. Going to try to do the seated yoga workout I have for my mom later tonite.

But I am staying solid with my healthy eating so hopefully the pounds will continue to melt away as a result. Maybe just a little slower.

Great job all, we're getting there for sure! emoticon

All goals met again.. yippee Skippie! Lol. I worked overtime today, and still made the choice to do a spark exercise video, as well as walk early this morning. I think this exercise thing is starting to stick! emoticon

Great job everyone!

I've been to the gym every day this week...will have to catch up on tracking over the weekend.

I've been good on the food. My company feeds us breakfast & lunch...waiting to be the end of the line forces me to limit my choices to fruit & veggies.

Halftime-------- Im actually seein body changes even though the scale isnt really moving. Belly is firmer - leg muscles coming out - a few arm and shoulder muscles....... Im even eating a little better - and its almost second nature - not such a chore.

Hoping march madness leaves me with some new habits................................

We're at the halfway point of March madness! Good job all!

I got back on track today. Exceeded my step count target. Danced my way through conference calls today instead of just sitting still during them. It was energizing!
