More housework to do today. I brought my Christmas cactus back outside, gave it a good watering and fed it. Hung a garden flag. Need to bring the rest of my outdoor stuff up from basement, and think about some more plants.

Haven't mulched our beds in 3 years so they are taking a lot, and yes, property is bigger than I want at this stage in my life! I probably have shoveled, hauled and spread 14 CY so far, and probably could use another 12 CY or so...

Gerry - you're dealing with a LOT of mulch!! Big property??

Tracked my Nutrition for today. Had a huge salad for dinner. It was delicious, but didn't meet my numbers anywhere today. Need to start adding more protein to my salads! Hard boiled eggs, grilled chicken, or shrimp are all good choices.

Went to the dr. today. I've been cleared to drive, to have a glass of wine with dinner, and to go to the chiropractor. I go back in 2 weeks for a stress test, and then I can begin cardio rehab.

An early start to the day today. I'm sort of sleeping better, not using the wedge and all of the pillows and sleeping all propped up anymore, but my sciatica has flared up again. It's been awhile since I've had to deal with this, and I'm overdue for a chiropractor visit.

Been tracking every day, nutrition wise. We all try to keep busy as best we can. Why don't we challenge ourselves to try one new SP fitness move/video every week in June? Or maybe just challenge ourselves to increase our fitness minutes by a certain percentage??

getting close to month end........................... so looks like we have some people tracking on a regular basis.

Should we do a june challenge? Im planning to change up my workout dramatically and see how that changes my body. I wlil continue tracking because it honestly helps me stay the course............. and I learn alot.

yes its chilly - but that sun is so bright - going up to nearly 80 today.

Going to get a 3 mile walk in with friends - then considering riding my bike to Seaside........... to visit some friends. Not sure my legs will take all of that in one day. havent taken a long bike ride this season yet................. that may be a bit too long to start with. have kept to shorter 2-3 mile rides. breaking in a new bike from last season and still not completely used to it.

considering a month of weight watchers...................... group support is an important thing - and Im wondering if that will help keep me more on course with eating............. just thinking about it for now

I FOUND IT! Thanks for the help. I have tracked my every food every day since I started. I weigh the majority of my food in grams on a digital scale. One, it keeps me honest to the nearest gram, and two there are variances in weight in such things as slices of bread and some canned foods. The difference between the weight listed on the label and the real weight of the contents has been off by as much as 23 grams in one instance. I also have a bad habit of pushing the limits on "servings" and measurements like 1 cup. I tend to get a little extra generous with that. God knows I need to stay accountable today. I went through the ringer. The bad news: I wanted to go by the store, buy a pint of coffee ice cream and eat it all. The good news: I had no money nor plastic on me so I just came home. My daughter made a chocolate mousse but I only had 50 grams of it. emoticon

Keep trying and trying until you succeed.

spent the day with my Mom yesterday and got alot of her gardening done --------- plus planted flowers at a swim club I manage up north. busy busy day.
Even took Mom for a pancake brunch - AND stayed with low carbs and low end of my calorie range . My eating is getting better..........................

did some shopping at a local farmers market so plenty of fresh fruit and veges in the house. Will be grilling alot............................ also = when I have the need to munch- its on healthy stuff.

I tracked my nutrition again today, Tuesday 5/19/15...not much of a challenge for me since I've always tracked it, but happy to participate nonetheless.

Walked 2 rounds of my 30 minute/2 mile neighborhood walk today/tonight...night walk without the knee support, we'll see what happens with that...

I spent most of sunday out in the yard......................... I did a 3 mile walk - a gym workout in the morning - and the all day cleaning out my shed. Took everything out --- and now its pretty well organized. I can even take out my bicycle -without having to pull out the lawnmower first. Big improvement. Took an old wooden door - and put it on two workhorses - so now I even have a worktable in there. happy happy.....

put together my raised garden forms.......................... will have everything planted by this weekend.

Not sure how many calories I burned but I bended - stretched - carried- cshoveled - raked - carried out to the curb and that kind of stuff for about 5 hours...................


And might I add - proper eating all day - drinking a ton of water.

Diane - when you have those crazy busy days (and we all have them!), jot down what you've eaten in a little notebook that you can carry around in your purse. Then, when you have a few minutes, then you can enter what you ate and drank into your tracker, even a couple of days later!

lots of exercise yesterday going for soil and mulch.............. then coming home and spreading- it and getting the gardens ready to plant. Seeds are started but since the nights were still chilly - I delayed getting the garden planted..................... I should be able to finish the gardens by end this week................... thats quite a workout.

Happy to say the scale says 139 again..................... back out of those 140 numbers.

keep tracking and keep sparking....................... I still want to see 130. Im on a mission

OK, one week completed and only one day over the calorie goal. Still need to tweak the contents of those calories a bit, but 4 pounds off this week. Thanks Jazz for giving me the push I need to start tracking again.

Pretty beach picture Gerry!

Tracked today - wasn't very hungry today, so all my numbers are low.

Went grocery shopping for the first time since my surgery. It was fun being in the store, until I hit the "wall" and had to go sit down. At least I'll sleep well tonight!

Been getting alot of stretching and moving about in the last few days. Working in the yard, painting the deck, planting.

went to Trenton to rally on the capital stairs for the Sandy victims still not back in their homes and not getting much help or support from FEAM - or all the money Christies wife raised for Jersey victims. I hate politics..........



hope to be back to my walking schiedule this weekend - and back to proper eating and a normal schedule for me......................

on a new vitamin regime for my anemia and its making me hungry but I have to stay on them for at least 3 months...................... hmmmmm

going back to food tracking tomorrow.......................... and sticking with it
