end of our April challenge......................

I have to say I started strong - and kind of punked out towards month end...............

May is going to be all about nutrition for me...................... will post a May challenge and will keep it simple.

Lets try to end this one together..................... May is right around the corner and I have an end May goal........................ special event.


Scale is showing its discountent too.



On a good note............ did some food shopping and honestly purchaed meats and vegetables............................. a very healthy balanced diet. No juicing or cleansing or any of those crazy fads for me.

ok ----------------------------------- kicked off today posting my food here on SP. I know it will tell me what I already know........................ I dont eat right...... BUT not just too many calories or too many carbs.

I have anemia - and need to change my eating to get more iron consumed. Will track iron too. Do you all know you can select the things on the nutrition tracker that you want to see?

PostalJo - that turtle is starting to be my mascot also! I realize it took me years to put this weight on and I'm trying to be realistic about it taking me years to get off and keep off. Trying to build up those better habits and lose the bad one.

Still drinking - will have 8 glasses done by bed time

JAZZ, my Sparkpeople carb. range is 278 to 458, I usually don't hit 250! My nutrition and fitness trackers are shared on my Spark page.

I'm guessing because of your sex and weight your range is way lower than mine...sorry

got 30 minutes/1.5 miles of walking in this morning, knee was bothering me so didn't want to push it too hard...MIL trip to Manalapan this morning, then a Jewish Deli, then the Sparkvideo this afternoon, then bowling tonight...when did I ever find time to work full time???

Should be 4 for 4 tonight, low carbs has been the easiest, I almost never hit my low range number.

Kept within my calorie range, did the video and posted on the main NJ board. The only walking done was spurts at work so I'm counting 3 of 4.

Di- I am notorious for the "all or nothing" train. That train only served to get me injured. I have taken to praising myself for every accomplishment no matter how small. Some days it may be getting out of bed. It's a habit that has helped. Slow and steady! emoticon

took the bike out again today and rode to the gym. worked out hard rode home. Waiting for Comcast to come to fix the ongoing problem of tv-phone and internet just konking out sometimes..................... they were here for 2 hours and replaced some things in the house - something hanging on the outside of the house - and went up on the pole.......................

AND my phone konked out again about an hour ago.................. the saga continues

there are good days and bad days in a challenge for sure. I have not been doing as good as I should with eating................ youve all heard me whining about it.......... but Im doing great with exercising because I just love the walking and the working out.

in Summary - 2 months into a challenge- and I have not lost a pound............. Ivee probably walked close to 50 miles in those 2 months - and have been at the gy a min of 4 days per week - most weeks 5. Not even really eating all that horribly - but clearly not changing the eating enough to lose weight.


May is going to be all about how I eat............... the walking and working out is almost second nature at thi point, for me. Ready to get the bicycle out for some long distance riding..................

I swear I wish I could staple my mouth shut.

So - each of us have diff challenges................... going to make May a challenge that may mean something diff for each of us... but will be about change.

lets stay together for moral support.

Got in the video this morning. Have my low carbs for the day put together. Posted here. Hope to get in a walk after dinner with DH. Glad to have this team challenge to keep me mindful of my daily activities and choices!

my knee is really acting up so I think walking is out for now...will try to bowl tonight and I'm heading down to do the Spark video...carbs good...may be trying the recumbent bicycle tomorrow if the knee holds up during bowling tonight...not happy!

walking is definitely the least expensive thing to do at the casino - double smart

rainy day - so walking may have to be tonight at the gym on a treadmill or video at home later.


Eating is my new focus................... like doing less of it - and healthier choices.

lots of walking today - outside yard work.
ate reasonably low carb

scale remains firm at 138. Simple truth is I have not changed my eating enough to move the scale.................... AND i know it.

thats the issue I need to conquer. Im getting better - but not enough yet

Hi All!
Not quite sure how all this works yet. I just joined yesterday. So far this week I got two workouts done with my personal trainer and one on my own. Today I have my 1st 1:1 with my reformer Pilates instructor. I plan on joining group classes very soon.

I'm pretty fit physically...well. It's my eating that I have to get a handle on. My goal is to check in here daily.

spent the weekend in Pittsburgh................ loved it.

Did very well staying in the low carb range and grabbing a water bottle when I wanted to snack. Major accomplishment for me 3 days in a row.


OK so - back to the walking - working out - video schedule - and hoping Im adding low carb eating. Took 12 days of this month to get me to kind of conquer this one. Great team support...................... and tired of looking at the scale not moving down.

Seems sometimes even when we know what the right thing to do is -------------------- we dont - or cant - . Sometimes takes a few tries - to get it right.


So dont give up ----------- take one element at a time if you have to ............. emoticon

I got 120 minutes (more like 180 but I'll only claim 120) of intense yard work, raking and filling 9 bags of leaves/sticks and 2 landscape containers.



Will most likely walk tonight around 8:00 pm.

Been hitting the food part.
The exercise part has been challenging due to family emergency but got in 30 minutes today.
Just picked up computer to enable me to check in.
Video tough due to surroundings. 3/4 not bad.
Knowing I'm part of this challenge has kept me mostly on track.

Challenges are called challenges because they aren't so easy. Not impossible but clearly a stretch. I have the exercise piece down pat ........Even miss its when I don't get to it but eating???????? My challenge for sure.

Pleased at least that one piece is now a lifestyle so going to do my best with the eating part. I can do this
