How would you guys like to add some elements to this challenge? I saw a 90 day of negativity challenge............................. Im thinking about altering it a little and giving us a 90 day YOU journey ,----- which can kind of be something different everyday to try.

Anyone interestedd? I would write the challenge daily by starting a Day 1 topic - and you guys can try it - comment - and make suggestions.................... it could be something as simple as
Give yourself a day of NO negativity or negative thoughts.......................... and lets see where it goes.


I cannot send this out as a team memo yet because I can only send one every 10 days aand I just sent a spring one.............. I can try to kick this off April 1. anyone interested?
A 90 New You kind of thing. Let me know if there is interest

hi all.
Just posting to let you know that I did walk both yesterday and Monday. I walked 1.65 miles on the treadmill each day and it took me about 35 minutes. this is a good pace for me so I will probably keep up this pace til I lose some weight but I will increase the time. Have shin splints today so no walking till I get my find my shin braces. maybe tomorrow. so some weight training today.

I did walk again today! Walking dogs at the MCSPCA, Eatontown. Not fast, (can only go as fast/or slow as the dog wants to go),but I was still out there. Over half a mile. (.61) Took me 33 minutes to complete.
That activity is not only good for me, but good for the dogs also. Everyone wins!

I've been away from SP for quite a while but have decided to check back in to see if I can get myself back on track. On March 1 I started walking 10 minutes a day (some days more, but always at least 10), and today I'm on day 24 of my streak. wanted to check out what your walking challenge was like.

Walked today and even jogged a tiny bit. .61 tenths of a mile total for walking and jogging. Not far and not fast (21 min.) But I know I can be determined if I want. After all, you need to have that if you're going to run a marathon. I know because of running the NYC marathon in 1990. (my first time) Then In 1991 I went 21 miles and then got sick. So close, yet so far away. Anyway, that was a long time ago. I just need to get that mojo back again. Whether or not I really do run another one? It's a goal to work towards. If I could just run 1-3 miles, I'll be happy!

headed out for my walk to the gym - and working out on some of the machines. Im into this now.............. a great way to kick off the day. I always feel so proud of myself once its done.

That wicked soreness from my hour with the personal trainer is almost gone. I see no reason what so ever to get almost paralyzed by a workout. I know it was really because she made me use muscles I probably dont normally used - but I was really hurting. I can push myself enough to be reasonable about how Im going to feel afterwards. I really need the PT for is to learn proper form on a few things and how to use certain equipment the right way. Two free one hour sessions came with the membership so -------------- will wait awhile to use the second one.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend - 60 degrees today........ enjoy the day... and find some time to get out - and walk.....

walked about 3 miles outside and then another mile on the treadmill................... then did some strength training. Not as much push as wednesday - have to let my leg muscles heal a little................. they are still very sore.

looks like we have some serious effort going on here. I cannot seem to get motivated to walk when its real cold outside. Going to walk to the gym this afternoon and take a group class. I think I enjoy taking the zumba classes and strength training .
Sitting at this computer looking at snow on my neighbors rooftop ------------- going to have to talk myself into walking................

3-10 to 3-16 FitBit tracked 20.63 miles and 50,216 steps

Not bad if I hadn't partaken in the nacho's & wholly guacamole at that B Day party and put on a extra pound last week : ( along with those 2 bottles of Franziskaner (love that stuff)
All that evil showed up on my scale this AM and now I sound like the crying kid on Candy Crush!!

Didnt make my walking goal this past week. But - today starts a new week.....................so Im ready to get started today. I joined a local gym ------------- and have 2 sessions this coming week with one of their personal trainers. It came free with the membership so I may as well take advantage of it. All I want to do is spend that time learning a proper kettlebell swing. I think that gives the best use of that personal training time. I know enough about being in a gym that I can do most everything else on my own.

Im going to take some body measurements and some "selfie pics" I want to chart my bodys change - and progress.

Yes you can and you are!! How was the weather where everyone one else calls home?
Here down the New Jersey Shore it was a beauty for most of the day.
Pushed myself out for a nice walk arounf the lake 1.42 miles.....We hit 63 degrees 2day!!
How about you guys??
Am I on the right page?? emoticon

Good suggestion, thank you NJJazz. Working on trying to keep my hip level, so walking's still difficult for me if I'm crooked. Appreciate you and the team nonetheless.

last week was the best in a while pulled 50 miles have been doing between 30 and 40 a week love to walk been wearing a pedometer for approx. 6 years and every week trying to beat the previous. Now along with that a fuel band every motivation helps.

kicked off sunday with a 4 mile walk and went to the gym.......... didnt take a class but walked a another 1 mile on the treadmill on an incline. Looked at the strength training machines............ hmmmm emoticon a little intimidating but will try one this week. Later today will walk to the gym for a strength training group class. Its a start.

Ive been at this for about 3 weeks. Started nothing more than walking at first ---------- a mile - then 2 miles - then little increases as I went along. No real changes to my diet - except that I have given up any kinds of sweets for lent.................... ok so - emoticon jeans already fitting a little differently. Im wearing a pair of jeans I could not wear for quite some time. Not a big change - but the change is clearly there. Made a corned beef dinner for my family and took it to my Moms house yesterday -------------- my daughters and I all ate there. My Mom looked at me and said - you look trimmer............ emoticon and when your Mother notices................. thats good enough for me. My Mom will tell me the truth without a doubt.......

So slow progress Ladies and Gents - but progress.
The scale jumps around as always --- Ive seen as low as 134--------- and back up to 137. Seems to be a range I cannot get out of................ you will hear me hollering all over NJ if that scale ever says 130. I dont even know what my goal is ----------------- but I dont think its a number...................... I think its a look - and I guess I will know when I get there

Wow! 18 miles is awesome!! I did 7 for last week. Not my goal or what I usually do, but just getting back into taking care of myself after months of not doing so. Now that the weather is nice, I am looking forward to miles and miles of walking with the dog :-).

This is a no win proposition - NO ONE gets out alive! Throw the fear and uncertainty to the side and go for what you want, who you want to be.

Im so proud of myselff - have to say.... emoticon I walked 18 miles last week and took my first Zumba class at the gym................... it was great.

I will be going to the gym at least 4 days per week - walking to the gym ------------- taking a class - trying to get in some strength training........... and walking home. I think thats a good spring schedule for me.


Wishing everyone a happy sunday ----------------------- now its time to get out and do my first 4 miles for the week.

ok - looks like a sunny day thats going into the 50's. emoticon No reason not to walk today................................. may get one longer walk in = or two 4 mile walks.

Going to\ cook a corned beef and cabbage today = to take to my Moms for a family dinner tomorrow........................ early celebration but its the only time that works for everyone.

will be heading out shortly to get todays walk in. Will shoot for 5 miles............. and going to take a group exercise class.................. walking to the gym - will take the class.............. then walking home. A good way to get it all in.

Its friday....................... ending to a darn good week. Got alot done this week.

Started - my no sweets or snacks for lent........................ missing my night time cookie or ice cream already -= but will get used to it.

I'm totally in. I started 2 weeks ago with the beautiful weather weekend. I have switched to setting up a desk at my treadmill to walk while I work/play on the computer at home. It's an easy way to log in an extra mile or two each day.

No walking today - had so many errands to do. I did get a free 5 day pass for a local gym and will start tht tomorrow..................... Im excited. Its a trial.

I walked 4 miles today.,.... did my usual and then extended it a little to walk to the dollar store for a few things I needed. Once the ice leaves - I will be getting the bike out to do as much of my shopping as I can - on the bicycle......................

Going to hit a 20 mile goal this week for my walking emoticon My real goal is still 14 miles per week ----------------- but this week Im going to shoot for 20. Right now Im at 11.

Hello all. I'm trying to catch up on my mailings & posts. I'll be joining you in spirit but I haven't been able to walk long distances for a very long time due to my knees. Then I fell on 2/23/14 & fractured my right ankle. Talk about adding insult to injury. Oh well. Good luck to all & may you all reach your goals.

Pat - the walking challenge is simply setting a weekly distance for yourself - and then doing it. Some of us are using the tools here on SP --------------- but you can do it however works for you. My challenge is doing 12 miles per week. I did that for the first time last week ----------------- Im going to try for 14 this week.

Happy you are joining us.................... come and post daily here so we can all encourage each other on..................a nd also learn from each other.

I did not walk today --------------- too darn bitter cold - and it was my OFF day emoticon

I try & get up 2 10,000 steps a day, but I can only get up about 6,000 because of my knee.

Great job everyone on setting your walking goal = and then walking.

I hope everyone knows how to use the tracking tools here - and the reports.

I just looked at mine.............. I walked a total of 14 miles last week. Im very proud.

Have to set a few different routes here on SP --------------- and get going. Will be throwing on my sweat clothes in a few and getting out for my walk. Want to kick the week off right.

I joined this challenge to get me moving and it did. I've not exercised in about 3 months and I thought it would be difficult. It wasn't except I only walked 3 days this week: 1 mile each day. (Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.)
