Today we are decorating our tree and house, although it has been a crazy day. Lots of errands, and kids needing rides. I need a nap already and I haven't even gone for my run yet! Yikes!

today is serenity saturday........ a day to be calm = peaceful and untroubled.
We all worry about so many things................ take a day to be worry free and just to count your blessings and enjoy everything around you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all ... we are still waiting to throw our "feast" in... at the moment i was through with preparing and cooking our kids felt asleep wherever they where (couch, our bed, floor) *lol* ... now we are waiting for them to be back on power (i guess it will be a very late night today for us).
I agree, i was thinking forward and back ... today i am not counting calories.I had no time since last night anyway to count any steps or calories or put in my meals and snacks, so my trackers today are messed up already anyway. ;o) But of course i still keep an eye on what and how much i am eating, i cooked pretty healthy anyway, tons of veggies, low on fats and sugars. I will just enjoy this one meal without counting and tracking today.

this is an interesting holiday for me. First time in 35 years I am not cooking and having all the family to my house. Some family has moved away................... both my daughters now have their own apartments - and so have their own late evening plans.


This year for the very first time ------------- we are going out for dinner = then coming home for coffee and dessert only. Not sure I like this..................... going to miss the smells in the house - and clearly the left overs. As the kids grow - traditions change a little.

Wishing everyone a great holiday........ and blessings to all of you and your families.

Kimmie - loving that 1 mile per day run challenge. It just starts a great habit -of getting out there daily. I may join you on that one.
I just returned from Florida............... 80 degrees was hard to leave. Got off tht plane here and it was 30 degrees. I like 80 better.

wow, that is dedication! I signed up for the Runner's World Run Streak, it starts on Thanksgiving and ends on New Year's Day, and you have to run at least one mile per day. Seemed smart on a 65* day, but today it is 30* and I am seeing a glimpse of my future lol.
I will keep you posted on my pull up challenge!

Kimmi you made me smile ... ;o) power sports, that's my thing, my hubby always is hiding if we are going for a workout at the ymca because i pull the weights and lift my buddy more than the most males in there. ^^ But just like with the cardio workouts, here also i struggle more and more and more with my ROA and i push me on my limits faster and faster ... I so hate having this stuff and being pulled to my limits ...

By the way, last night my hubby told me that now i am officially lost my mind ;o) After i finally had those wild ones asleep, at 10:30 PM i still was willing to do my daily walk... 60 minutes in the middle of the night surrounded from our woods here through icy cold weather with freezing wind pinches and snow falling down ... i am just not so 100 % sure if i really wanna do this the next months through the winter season every single night, it's not a walk to enjoy at all. ;o)

pull ups are hard! I have managed one whole pull up and i felt like a boss, lol. My goal for next year is to do multiple pull ups!

I've been running for a few years now. Actually 11years as I started right after I had my daughter and I needed a vice to help me quit smoking.
11years later....I haven't had any desire to have even 1cigarette, and running hasn't really gotten any easier. Lol!
By I push myself every week, running about 10 miles a week, and one long run on Sunday, which the mileage varies.
My new thing is pull ups. My goal, 15 unassisted pull ups by March.

After 6.5 miles really running i didn't wanted to have any pizza or beer anymore ^^ All i would ask for would be life support. *smile* I can walk for hours and hours and hours but running, i am like dead after 10 secs, as kid already, running ruined all my good A's and A's+ i usually got in gym and even sports-doctors (how do you say for them this days???) couldn't figure out why i just wasn't able to breath at all soon as i tried to run (well ok, it was in East Germany in the 70's, i am sure there are completely diff better ways this days to figure it out).

But you're doing one fantastic awesome job, keep going!! You def have my cheer.

Yesterday I ran the Train Run, you take the train from Asbury Park to one of 3 stops. We chose Spring lake, because it is 6.5 miles but you can do 2 or 4 miles as well. The you run back to Johnny Macs and have pizza and beer. Win!
It was a great run, a great time, and the hubs loved the beer lol. We also went to Confections of a Rock Star for cupcakes. Yum!
Today was power yoga and hopefully a walk at some point, it is beautiful out there!

Uugghh...I have a food hang- over today...
I used yesterday as a "free day" in order to get some cravings out of my system and today I feel, well, sick to my stomach. It's not even guilty sick, it's like yucky sick.
So its back on track today, and hoping to feel better tomorrow.

best wishes for your move to the shore and the new beginning ... upper east coast had so much damage the last years from those storms, we all hope and pray they will stay away from us now for a long while....

We got our 3 little rascals to dine out in chilis today (i was honestly scared bc those are 3 firecrackers, loaded with ants and bees in their pants and a double set of energizer batteries each single one of them ^^), but everything went well and i am so proud of my self ( i never could stay away from those spare ribs, cheese nachos etc.). I only took the caribbean salad with grilled chicken (shared all together) plus some broccoli from the kids menu and i really was able to stay on my 1200 cal / day today (usually you are over that already with one meal from the menu *lol* ^^).

I also got my Spark Tracker last night *yeah* the day by far isn't over yet and i am already far over 9000 steps... and bc we had to run all our errands plus dining out with the kids today, this is the day i cannot really put a workout in. So i guess my daily life isn't that lazy at all at the end, is giving me some more hope... ;o)

WooHoo. lots of busy Jersey people here.

Im actually dooing well getting in line with some of my goals. Helped younger daughter move to her first apartment yesterday. What a workout. Now my house is half empty since I gave her most of the furniture in my house up north.

Im starting my move to the shore............... house is just about finished. Starting to move furniture from one house to the other. Honestly just a few things................

I cannot wait to be settled in Point. I need the peace of being near the ocean ! Hoping the dam thing stays out of my house this time. LOL

How beautiful to run in honor of your Dad. keep up the good work. I need to get going. Just found out this week why I have no power. All the Doctor told me was to get more rest. Also I am going to try to get on line at least three times a week. Hope the rest of my Jersey friends are heading to there personal goal.

how long do you have to stay now in your almost empty house?? And where to the shore are you moving? We got to the shore only one time this year, it's just a long ride for us and a ton of effort with 3 little ones just to stay on the beach for 2 hrs and pack everything back into the car to go back home ... i am a outside person and love to stay on a beach, in the sun, at the water and i love swimming (ok, isn't so much of that on the blowy windy shore, last time the waves did get way to high for an joyful swim) . But where else you wanna go swim in NJ if you are not a member in one of the expensive clubs. *lol*

Here is it sunny today and almost no wind *chakka* ;o) This makes the cold really very nice to handle, we did a long 2 hr walk to the playground yesterday and the munchkins are still tired from.

Well my youngest daughter is all packed up and moving out into her first apartment today. exciting times....................... Ive given her most of the furniture from our house to take - so the house is going to be very empty after today. Keeping just enough to live here until my move to the shore.

I will certainly get a workout today helping with the move.

I like Zumba - its like going to a one hour dance class. It goes so fast............. and you really can work at your own level. Im enjoying it............ its a good cold weather inside workout.

I havent been out walking as much as I was. I tend to do to the treadmill at the gym right after the zumba class. I do a half hour of moderate walking changing up the speed and elevation to change it up a little.

I saw 134 on the scale yesterday................................ emoticon

Now that was a happy sight.

Ran 11K in honor of all of our veteran's today, with my dad's dog tags clanging inside my shirt. It is my 3rd year doing it, and I just love it. It was a beautiful day for it!

We had it snowing here yesterday (Northern NJ) - i was like jumping out of the clouds ... such a long no ending dry summer, we still walked in the middle of october in short clothes around and now in like 2 -3 weeks winter.

Keep doing my 40 - 50 min walks with the kids but i got to find another way soon ... it is getting just to cold for them outside now and they are freezing after like 10 min no matter how warm and thick i pack them up.

How is your zumba going NJJAZZ?? I hear and read so many people talking about it but i could not get the push to try it by my self. It seems just to powerful with my OA-knees,ankles and back ...

Good morning Sparklers...

this Typhoon at the Philippines looks even worse than all our 3 storms packed together. All my thoughts are with all the people there, more than 10.000 lost lives it's just terrible. Opens our eyes once again.

Here it looks like a cold but dry and finally not soooo windy day ... i so hope i finally can go for a longer walk with my 3 munchkins. The last days it was just to cold for them with all the wind to stay out for a longer time even packed up warm and tight, after 10 minutes they where so shaking we had to go back home in the house.

some days it just doesnt pay to watch the news. Looks like they are predicting over 10,000 people lost their lives in the Phillipines. How terrible.

On a brighter note - its cold out - but sunny. Ive gotten alot of packing done to move back to the shore........................... been making trips down with the car loaded full. Wilol be happy to be settled back in.

halloween=3 new pounds for me. Ugh.
I ran a 5K on Sunday and then added 12 more miles afterwards, the longest I have run since January! I was achey yesterday, but not bad today! This weekend is the Trenton Half, my 13th of the year!

Howdy!!!!
Been busy & ignoring my own body! But, I'm back! Joined an abs challenge with an old school chum; actually DID the exercises today (with my 2 YO next to me on the floor saying, "You can do it, Mom!" and grunting right along with me! Hilarious.
I reentered my goals & such & refigured my calorie stuff (woo, I get 100 more a day!).
So, fellow Sparkers, thanks for being & be seeing you around! OH YES! Also got out today with the kid & raked some leaves, and she jumped in the pile over and over for nearly an hour. Outdoor fun! emoticon

Another new month.................................... for me = no new results although Ive been staying in the course. Up a few pounds and down a few pounds........... but staying in some kind of reasonable range.

Now for body fat - whole different story ------------ emoticon need some work on this.

That holiday season is approaching fast ------------- lots of good eating and parties. Thinking this is the time - to work at toning ----------- in prep for that tough season. Also looking at some cooking and baking recipes that get us thru the holiday without piling on those fat calories.

Come on and post daily............... we sure do have alot to learn from each other.
