I've learned that 1) I'm in better shape than my dog and 2) I should probably stick to legit trails when I'm bringing her on a hike! That being said, it was a gorgeous hike around Round Valley Reservoir today! So happy to live in Hunterdon County!

Learning how to do pull ups. Seems near impossible to me right now, and was only able to do 2 today at the gym. But I'm going g to keep at it. My goal is 15

I learned that Bethlehem is all hills, but I can run 22.4 miles there in 2 days without dying. Dopey, here I come!

that not even 30 mph winds will keep me from finishing a half marathon, or scare me enough to stay way...I am going back next year to run the full.

Running alone is not enough! I have added Slim in 6 to my schedule again, and plan to finish out the 6 weeks before moving on to kettle bells! I miss my weight workouts, and am going to stick with them!

What I learned about fitness today is that I need to be more consistent with it for starters! I was never the athletic or jock person and I think that's where my problems began. Also that it's not just the number on the scale but the inches lost that make up the total package. I am starting a new workout plan today, Focus T25 from Shaun T (the Insanity guy) and I've only heard good things about this workout.

Just keep swimming.......

I joined WW on Friday, again. Hoping it helps. 3 pounds gone already, so I guess it is working!

I learned that after running a mile a day for 2 weeks, a 5k PR is easier. shaved a minute off my best time yesterday!

today I learned ( again) that if you want to see the scale number move down - you have to control your eating .... just about as simple as that.

If you want to see a firmer body - you have to workout - just about as simple as that

today I concluded that I have to get serious about my "challenge for turning 60. I want to be 130 pounds on the date.................. 36 days to go to lose 6 pounds . I see some nutritious smoothie meals on the horizen.

Today I learned that Zombies run fast, and mud is fun to play in, lol. 5K Zombie Run in Medford, I ran it with a friend from High School and had a blast! I love mud runs, acting like a kid is good exercise and fun too!

Turns out that all those foods I miss so much, my tummy doesn't!!

Today was my turn at bat to "celebrate life" as we call it in my circle or what is commonly known as "the Birthday". The family comes with the cakes and assorted goodies and their love & hugs too along with the presents.
Do you take the gifts and run? Oh nooooooo can't do that so now I am so paying the piper! My tummy looks like I swallowed a small watermellon and I am so uncomfortable. It's telling me what I've learned already here at Sparkpeople.Com. It cannot digest these foods. Most likely I'm allergic to their content.
Note to self:
Listen to your tummy and enjoy your Sparkpeople.Com success.

I have been noticing lately, that fitness is the small part. If you eat like a pig, you will not lsoe weight, no matter how much you run!

Im learning that Duffdyer is absolutely right. Fitness and being healty is a combination of looking good, feeling good and having healthy habits to live by.
AND emoticon they are all interconnected in a way. If I feel good - I tend to take better care of myself and I look better and then Im aware of healthier behaviors.

I have been taking more care in how I look ----- hair nails. clothes and accessories.......... and so I feel better . Ive gotten some nice compliments about looking nice............. that feels good. It makes me want to deat right - stay healthy and be fit. its a circle emoticon

The lesson that I'm learning is that while weight loss takes time- healthy habits begin to pay dividends quickly. How I feel (physically) is more important than how I look. But looking good sure helps how I feel mentally! I need to LEARN to be patient.

Every little bit helps! Do it in 10-20 minute increments if you need to!
Modify modify modify! If you are doing a DVD and the steps are too hard or you are too tired, march in place until you catch your breath!
Find something fun! Zumba, walking the dog, baseball or soccer with the kids, anything that gets you moving! Walk on the beach for a little extra intensity, the sand makes it a little harder and it is fun! Do squats to pick up sea glass or shells :)
