I'm not sugarcoating this just telling you what I told myself.

If you want it, you have to work at it. Getting healthy and losing weight doesn't happen by magic, osmosis or wishful thinking. Sometimes making changes in how we live is harder than we want it to be. But face it, nothing is appreciated more than something you worked for. If the big result you want means making big changes, then make them one change at a time if that's what it takes. Instead of wasting energy wishing things were different, apply that energy to making it happen.

I know it's frustrating, I know it's disheartening and I know the road to success can be loaded with all kinds of pity party pit stops. Mine sure is and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way. I decided it was time to put the big girl panties on and face the music. I did this to me, I have to find a way to fix it. If you want to be unhealthy all your life, you will find a way to be just that. If you want things to be different and make your life and yourself the way you would like it to be, then DO IT. Take responsibility, take control and don't take any excuses!

Do not despair! You have come to the right place. I have started and stopped more diets then I can count! The promise to exercise has been broken more often than Carter has little liver pills. So many times I have said tomorrow only to immediately break my diet at breakfast.

Some tips that work for me are: look at eating as getting healthy not as a diet, each time you eat something look at it as the start of your healthy eating plan, use the diet and fitness trackers religiously. I was so shocked at how many calories and fat I was eating that it helped me change my eating habits. As for exercise I schedule it on my calendar, like going to work or an appointment. Most of all, don't give up. If I can do it, you can do it. emoticon emoticon emoticon We CAN do it together. Carol

Hello Everyone,

I'm stuck. I've been a member for about a year now. I have yet to truly dedicate myself to being serious about losing weight. I don't know how to motivate myself to get up and exercise, to stop eating junk and basically treat myself better. I don't know how to find this "MOTIVATION". I live in southern jersey. Are there any exercise groups in my area. Maybe I could attend. I don't even know if this email will go through. I don't know if I'm just wasting my time. Maybe I'm just meant to be overweight for the rest of my life or maybe I'm one of those people who need to be damn near on their death bed before they seriously wake up. I don't know. I'm just over it. I don't want to be like this anymore. However, i don't think I'm strong enough to evoke the necessary change.
