The words "for the time is at hand" jumped out to me. It is time to be Blessed by His promises of knowing the scripture. Jesus is soon coming and it is for sure time to search the scriptures, share what God reveals and stand together occupying and awaiting His coming

1. Verse 1 Give the name of this book as it is shown in the first 5 words in the KJV= The Revelation of Jesus Christ
A: The Revelation of Jesus Christ

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"? To reveal something and something coming soon.
A: Revelation to me means an unveiling or opening. Shortly come to pass: for me, God is outside of time and space so His shortly doesn't necessarily mean 'right this minute' as we would define time. For Him, time is irrelevant to the fulfilling of His Word.

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John?
A: From an angel to John

4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly?
A: "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."
There is a blessing for those who read the Book of Revelation. I personally think it is because this is the one Book in all the Bible that people are most 'scared' of. It IS a difficult Book to understand.

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"?
A: God wants us to know what is to come to pass BEFORE it has come to pass so that we may "look up! Your redemption draweth nigh".

Our introduction to the book of Revelations is the first 3 verses. They start with the Revelation given to John and stating it must shortly come to pass. The angel bore record of the Word of God and of all things he saw. We must also take it upon ourselves to tell about the things we see and understand. Our blessing mentioned in vs 3 is to read about and learn about the words of the Prophecy, We also need to tell others about it so everyone gets a blessing from this.

If you don't understand how to get the blessing, read the scriptures and learn more about Jesus Christ and His message to the world. By doing this, we will receive our blessings given by Jesus Christ Himself.

Jenny, R2 and Got thank you for stating that it came through Jesus or God and then John in your answers. For God is the one who is in control of everything. It was an angel who told John but God was the one who sent the angel.

And yes, this will not be good for those left behind and how true that we should want to tell others and keep them from going through it. The signs of the times are everywhere and Jesus could come anytime. We should be ready and waiting and found faithful. God, please give us strength and courage to live for you. Amen.

1. Verse 1 Give the name of this book as it is shown in the first 5 words in the KJV= The Revelation of Jesus Christ (It presents the future things and also makes proclamation of who God is. It teaches us about Jesus Christ and how we should live for him now. It reminds us that Jesus is coming again to earth to judge the wicked. As others have alluded to in some answers- the believers (The True Church) will be raptured (Taken up to meet Jesus in the air) approximately 7 years before we return with Him to this earth where Jesus will judge it.

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"?
revelation=It is apocalyptic meaning "uncovered" "unveiled" or "revealed"
shortly come to pass= quickness once events start

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John? From God-Jesus-servants-through John
Through vision John could see and record certain future events so they would encourage all believers.
4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly? I know I feel discouraged with all the wickedness in the world today. I am encouraged to know that God is in charge and we can be assured of the fact that God will triumph. So reading, hearing , applying it, brings a blessing to me and assurance of that very thing.

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"?
Knowing what he tells and shows John in this Revelation will come to pass- for God has always in the past kept his word, does now, and will in the future. It is impossible for God to lie. Knowing this, we can let the truth about Christ penetrate our lives, deepen our faith in him and strengthen our commitment to follow him no matter what happens.

1. Verse 1 Give the name of this book as it is shown in the first 5 words in the KJV=
The Revelation of Jesus Christ

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"?
1st= new information made available
2nd= takes place soon whenever something begins

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John?
God the Father- Jesus-to angel- to servants-through John

4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly? Hear, Read, Keep
(do it and don't take it lightly)

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"?
He doesn't want to keep anything from His Children. It will make us want to live pure lives.
I sure want my family and others to be saved and not live through the chapters discussed after Chapter 5 when it talks about those terrible judgments. I want others to be saved before the rapture which I understand can happen any second.

I am glad we are doing this study, it makes me read the book of Revelation. Some people seem scared of it. Well, I sure would be if I were not sure of being saved.

I liked your answers too because they were thorough and well thought out. I like these questions because they really make you think about things. Just like my online Bible study; there is no yes or no answers. Sometimes he asks questions that have to deal with your faith.

Laura, thank you for sharing your answers. I enjoyed read each and everyone. emoticon

Remember there is a blessing promise all those who read, hear, and keep ..this book.

For others who are going to share, here are the questions you can copy and paste, or if you prefer, just write a few words as to what you got out of the verses. LET"S share and learn together. It will be good to discuss any differences in our thoughts as well. It will challenge us to dig deeper into the scriptures.

1. Verse 1 Give the name of this book as it is shown in the first 5 words in the KJV= The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"?Revelation means something that is going to be revealed to us through the study of the Word and events that happen. Shortly come to pass means that it will happen in our generation as Jesus said. Everything that He said would happen is even now being happening before our eyes. all these things must take place between the time when he went up to heaven and the time after he reigns for a thousand years.

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John? It was sent by an angel unto John.

4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly? You receive the blessing when you read it. It means to me that God will reward me for being faithful to Him by reading His word and applying it to my life. It means that God takes obedience very seriously and that I should listen and obey if I want to be blessed and grow closer to Him. How else am I going to be prepared if i do not read it? I need to be found faithful.

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"? I believe that He wanted us to know what would happen in the end and be prepared. He wanted us to know all the signs of the end times and also He wanted us to know more about what we would find in heaven as well. He knew it would give us something to look forward to after we leave this life. He gave it as a warning to us as well to stay faithful.

1. Verse 1 Give the name of this book as it is shown in the first 5 words in the KJV=
The Revelation of Jesus Christ (not Revelations as some call it. It is the only prophetic book in the New Testament where the Lord Jesus is unveiled. John sees things in the Spirit that will literally happen in the future. John sees visions in Heaven and on the earth.

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"?
Revelation means unveiling something that has not been revealed before. This revelation unveils the glory of Jesus as High Priest, the believers only intercessor unto the Father. Jesus is head of the church, and has all authority over it. Jesus is aware of all that is going on. Revelation also reveals what will be taken place on earth after the church is raptured through His 2nd Coming to set up His 1000 Year Reign over the whole earth and ending with the New Heaven, the New Earth, and the City.

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John? From God the Father through Jesus through His Angel to his servants through John as he is lead by the Spirit to pen down the book as instructed.

4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly? One must not be afraid to read and study this book. It was meant for adhere to it. The messages to the churches show what pleases the Lord and that which doesn't. We must be faithful in our living for Him and apply the first commandment in loving and putting God first in every area of our lives. (This means I must examine myself often to see if I am in alignment with God's will in giving him first place)

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"?
They are instructions for the church to live by. Also, our hearts should be burdened to share the gospel in knowing the fate of those who do not get saved.

2. What do these two terms mean to you-" revelation" and "shortly come to pass"?
revelation= to reveal something new
shortly come to pass= soon as to fulfill something

3. In verse one, what was the process by which this revelation was sent to John?
God the Father- Jesus-to his angel-to John on to the churches of all times

4. Verse 3 is unique in that it promises a blessing . How does one receive this blessing? What does this mean to you particularly? I will be blessed by reading it and taking it to heart all that is said.

5. Why do you think it was so important for God to make sure we received "this Revelation"?
God wants us to know that he hold us accountable to him as part of the church. Also, each church as a local assembly will be held accountable for their witness in the community of which they are located. Revelation also reveals what will take place on this earth after the Rapture. With this knowledge, it should make me want to make sure all my family, friends, and others in the world know about the saving grace of God provided to us through Jesus alone and not based on any works of our own.
