Didds - Don't worry, I didn't give up carbs altogether or even go "low carb" but its stuff like I've noticed that my lunch for school everyday doesn't revolve around a nice big bagel like it used to, I bring leftovers almost every day which usually is a pretty balanced meal. Or that we make more meals that are a protein and a veggie side and a salad and not have rice or pasta. Its like just by trying to eat healthier, the carbs pack too little punch for too few calories and I just said its not worth it to load up on them as much as I used to.

Not just eating to be eating is a HARD habit to break and I have been utterly unsucessful so far. Instead I snack on raspberries, mango, and carrot sticks instead of potato chips. I just don't BUY potato chips because I know once they are in the house they will be in my stomach. I don't really want that. I only think I do.

Making sure I drink 8 glasses of water a day, knowing how much a portion is and sticking to it. Not eating just to be eating.

I consistently eat 3 meals a day. I was big on skipping lunch and then eating like a madwoman when I got home.

Like Diddsie I was a one dish person for dinner (when I ate a real meal!) just a piece of fish, just chicken...now I am also adding more veggies.

I've gotten into a really good habit of whining about having to exercise :)

I would actually like to get into a better habit with exercise. My golf league starts April 30 so that's automatically one day of walking/week. (on a super long, hilly course!)

And food well...I need to bump up the veggies a bit again, and cut down on the carbs. Growing up, EVERY meal had a starch (or 2) and its been hard to break that habit. Its like my meal isn't complete until I eat bread.

i'm on spring break and haven't been to the gym by my work (a good commute away) since last friday. i miss it. who'd have thought that i'd develop a gym-going habit so strongly that i'd miss it when i'm away?

At least 1 serving of frozen vegitables with every meal. My freezer is full of an assortment of frozen veggies. Previously, I was a 1 food kind of person for a meal. Like I would eat JUST kraft dinner or JUST chicken. I like it this way better, even if there are more dishes to wash.

I can't cut out the carbs, because I find carbs are the only thing that makes me full... in the little daily nutrition pie chart I am always WAY high on carbs, and usually WAY low on fat and a little low on protein.

What are your new habits that you are developing or want to develop? Share here!

I am shocking myself by eating breakfast at home everyday and liking it. Toast topped with a thin layer of marmalade and a few spoons of cottage cheese or oatmeal cooked in the microwave with brown sugar, raisins and soymilk or even just plain, nonfat yogurt with honey and cereal. Crazy!

Other habits -
eating far fewer bread, pasta, rice, starchy carbs in general
Actually going to the gym 3 times a week steadily
Adding extra veggies to everything

Habits I need to work on:
sleep - 8 hours would be ideal, I usually get about 6.5 or 7
running outside - I'm a wuss and I am worried its going to hurt my knees, I need to stop being a wuss and just do it!
