I like taking my measurements. I'm more excited about inches lost than lbs lost. The more inches lost for me means the smaller my pants size which is super important to me.

I just measured myself. My hip measurements never change much, even with weight loss, but I cannot believe how big my waist is! I have done some serious overeating!

I have to take my measurements for a challenge that I'm starting next week. I admit I'm scared to see the numbers.

BMI is determined by weight...

weight (in pounds) / height (in inches) x 703 = BMI.

so if your weight doesn't change, your BMI won't.

I'm only tracking my measurements. I'm not looking to change the number on the scale--just my BMI which is harder to track.

I haven't taken my measurements yet, but I certainly plan on doing that soon. I have an appointment with a trainer next week, and they usually do that at the gym...

boobies. your cup size should be decreasing when you lose weight. which will probably leave me with inverted boobs :(

if you lose back fat it would be reflected in that measurement as well.

You could do both though for interest's sake.

when you measure your bust do you measure your ribcage like at a bra fitting or your actual boobies?

I've only done my measurements twice in the 3 months or so since I've been on Spark. I didn't see any sort of change on my neck or hips but I lost 2 inches off my waist which just proved in numbers my belt notch movement.

Yes. I measure every few weeks just to see what the tape says. I have lost 4 inches in my waist going from 31 to 27! My bust has gone from 36 back down to 34 too.

i wish i had taken measurements when i started working out regularly a few months ago. i can feel my clothes fit better, but i'd like a number for it. the scales not giving me what i want so a tape measure might help. i think for my goals that would be more appropriate than the scale anyway.

I have a pair of jeans I measure myself by. If I've been doing more walking or *gasp* actually working out but still not losing weight the pants will tell me if I'm changing shape.

i'm too lazy for measurements, too. weighing myself regularly is easy because it only takes a second. measuring myself would take, like, FIVE seconds, which officially makes it too arduous to contemplate.

i'm tired just thinking about it.

Yeah, basically I am so lazy I haven't done the measurement thing. I bet it would be interesting to keep track of it, though.

I really like looking at that little weight progress graph!

I just recently started taking measurements, but I don't do it very often. It's just a point of interest thing. I like to use weight as a reference because it's easiest to get ;)

Plus I have this measuring issue where I can measure the same spot on myself 3 different times and get 3 different measurements.... which is a MEASURE of what a moron I am. When I order hats online I measure my head 3x and take the average.

Well, seeing I weigh as much now as when I started - I don't need much to guage my progress.

But, in the past I have taken measurements - especially if you're doing toning exercises its nice to see.

I've also taken pictures in the past - which are sometimes fun to look at - you can see what 3" looks like!

So far, I have only weighed myself. Anyone else take other measurements to gauge how you're doing?
