Just chiming in to say that I am become *very* attentive to being full. I feel like I get full so easily! One meal that seems tiny but turns out to be huge just fills me right up. I had 4 oz. tilapia, .5 cup brown rice and a whole ton of green beans for dinner and I am SOOOOO full!

I too find this an absolutely amazing phenomenon because I just felt like I could eat the world before and now I have such a reduced appetite from before. Its like a whole new world...

Oh, I always definitely log what I can BEFORE I eat it. It makes things a lot easier and I tend not to go over my cals if I do that. And I find it helps with snacking too.

Otherwise I eat and then go "whoops! That had 500 more cals that I thought!"

Word, I ate a cup of soup and about a cup of salad today and got fullzzz.

One thing that was interesting to me today was, since I brought my lunch & dinner w/me to work, I logged everything at once (so I wouldn't forget how much of each thing I brought)... when you have the cals on your chart BEFORE you even eat them, you can look at them objectively and go, "Dude, if I don't eat one of the three little oranges I brought, I can save myself 50 calories". So maybe if I have the temptation to overeat, I should just try to log it all first and look at the stats, and then if I still want to, go ahead and eat.

blasted, bloat-inducing milk!

seriously, i think i'm getting really sensitive to fullness. i just ate breakfast - 1 cup of plain nonfat yogurt with 1/2 cup of blueberries, two rectangles of graham crackers - and i swear to god the second graham cracker just sent me over the edge. i went from comfy and full to bloaty in one graham cracker. this from a woman who used to slam down half a pan of mac-n-cheese in a night. so is this an extreme and long-lasting reaction to saturday's madness, or was i always this sensitive and just pushed past it, or am i really learning how much it takes to fill me up? weird. that was a serious graham cracker, i tell you.

"and i love nothing more than the decadence of eating ALL of something."

Ha! (me too!)

And after my dinner last night (which in itself wasn't bad - some roast, potatoes and corn) I ate a big peice of cake and 2 glasses of milk and was SO FULL. And I thought about how icky I felt and how it's really nice to eat and feel satisfied but not stuffed.

I blame the milk ;)

it wasn't really a slip-up, but i did eat a 5 hour long dinner on saturday. it was the schmancy 9 course affair with 5 wine pairings for mr. mighty's birthday, and it nearly broke my soul. i was stuffed 1/3 of the way through, and the rest was a very delightful, but sometimes painful, ordeal. it was amazing and wonderful, and i was bloated and logy and sick all day yesterday in recovery.

eating that much, though, really made me realize how much i'm actually beginning to like (no joke!) eating a reasonable, measured amount of food. usually my pattern is to watch my diet like a hawk and then splash out in frustrated and rebellious overeating. well, this weekend i did the overeating but just missed my logical portions and newly developing skill of listening to my body to determine when i'm full.

oh, and kari, i found a frozen pizza margherita at whole foods that only has 600 calories. i bought two of them because, if i budget the calories correctly, i can eat a WHOLE PIZZA for dinner, and i love nothing more than the decadence of eating ALL of something. i did this last friday, and it was great because i didn't have to hate myself afterward.

Saturday my scale was insanely nice to me - reading 214.5! I haven't seen that weight in months - it was exciting.

So what did I do?

I ate an entire pizza
ate a bag of combos
made a carrot cake for my grandpa and ate 1/4 of it!!!

I kept trying to tell myself "Well, at least there were carrots in it!"

Needless to say this weekend was BAD. I can forgive myself for the pizza and the combos, but that cake...my god, I can't beleive how much freaking cake I ate!!!!

Its all done though - the rest of it is packaged up for my grandpa and my parents and I will not touch it.

Anyone else have any stupid "slip ups?"
