I disappeared for a while but now I am re-committing myself and figured I'd start with the positive.

I had my annual check-up last week and I have lost 20 lbs since my last year's appointment and my blood pressure had been creeping up over the past few visits and this time it was completely, totally in the normal range. Yay!

Goal 1- 10% - 232 lbs
Goal 2 -10% - 209 lbs
Goal 3 - 10% - 188 lbs

Good: while in Portland this weekend, I generally ate pretty well. I also went carless, so I schlepped my ass most everywhere.

Great: Friday and Saturday night were big giant goth dance parties. Do you know how many calories Sparkpeople says you burn when you dance for two hours? It's practically carte blanche to go out every night. Awesome.

Needs improvement: I'm climbing back on the Sparkwagon, which will take a bit of relearning. However, I'll also be doing it with my needs in mind this time. I know how I function within this program better, so instead of being Suzie Overachiever, I'll be better at taking what I need and leaving the rest.

And yardenxanthe, congratulations on all counts. You've already achieved everything I hope to, and did it while being positive and helpful. Nice job, man.

I have a couple!

- I have been consistantly weighing in at 221/222. Yesterday (weigh in day) I weighed in at 223. I was devastated because I felt I had been doing so good. Last night (when I usually weigh a couple lbs. more) I also weighed in at 223. I knew something was up.

This morning, 220.5! Yay! I won't be completely happy until I get below 220 (geez, and I STARTED this at 218!) but I'm headed in the right direction.

- I've done some kind of exercise every night this week. One night was just a quick mile walk, but FIVE days in a row is excellent for me!

- I found a new snack! 100 cal packs of microwave kettle corn. I hate microwave popcorn but decided to give these a shot and they're a pretty substantial treat for 100cals.

- still getting up earlier than I had been, which means I've been going to bed earlier than usual which has led to feeling less tired during the day!

I used some No Name thick cut bacon, and 2 slices was 80 cals and 7g. fat.

I didn't think that was so bad, granted, not as low as chicken breast or something, but certainly low enough to have as a treat.

I went to Aqualates last night. I had been putting it off and putting it off thinking my swim suit didn't fit, but then i tried it on yesterday morning and it fit just fine!

It was fun (I used to go but got bored with it) and I'm going to add it into rotation. It's about the only thing that I do that gets me a bit of strength training.

And, I've stuck to cals for 3 days now. I even had a BLT for dinner last night!!

I ran 2.5 miles at the gym tonight without stopping. I felt so good at the end that if I wasn't under time constraints I would have kept going. I think I am going to try to train for a 5K.

not only did i run this week, but i also defeated my fear of the incline sit-ups bench and the scary pull-ups machine at the gym. sit down, scary machines! i own you now!

oh, and i'm looking into sharing a personal trainer with a coworker and i'm having an athlete student of mine draw up a fitness plan for my coworker and me to follow. hopefully i'll be kicking my own ass and taking my own name at the gym in the weeks to come.

Yay for holding out from buying easter candy! Good for you! I actually went to Walgreens yesterday and picked up a bag of malted milk eggs, clutched it to my poor little heart and then put it back and walked away. I have to say that it was really hard. Good for you vik - that takes a tremendous amount of will power.

Incredibly satisfying. I've never tried deliberately to lose weight before, so to actually see it work is really, really reassuring. It's not magic, it's just science and numbers.

I wore a belt with my jeans today. I don't know if it was more necessary today than yesterday, but it felt very nice.

my weight went up .5 pound this week, BUT

1. i didn't freak out about it at all, which points to a much improved mental state regarding this little bod of mine, and

2. i bought two super-cute size 8 dresses last weekend! single digits, yo!
