I was searching online for an easy to use food tracker and came across SP. That was on March 21, 2007. I've been here ever since, even though I no longer use their food tracker. I do track fitness and weight here. I have taken an extended leave for a few months (about 3) before, and a leave for a few weeks now and then, but nothing for a very long time.

I read a woman's weight loss story in a magazine, and she mentioned Sparkpeople. So I checked it out and joined.

I did take a break for about two years. It was due to a combination of things. Number one, my dearest Spark friend passed away, and it just wasn't the same without her here. I tried to stick it out but then another Spark "friend" sent me a nasty email telling me to stop blogging because she was tired of my blogs being featured sometimes. That attack came so out of the blue, and on top of me missing my other Spark friend, it was just enough to make me leave. I was going to delete my account but in the end I kept it although I didn't plan to ever come back. But here I am, haha, so I'm glad I didn't delete it.

I found SparkPeople way back when it first started and I was looking for help to lose weight.

It wasnít as helpful, organized back then....

But in 2012, after I retired and had time, i signed up again,.... Iím in it for the long haul.

I havenít taken much time off. In fact until a couple months ago, I had a sign in streak of over 1500 days at one point. Then forgot to spin the wheel one day, and lost it.

I am usually on my iPad so itís not as user friendly from the app, and I cannot easily access my teams, etc.

How did you first hear about Sparkpeople? Have you ever taken an extended break from Sparks?
