If your body is not provided with sufficient doses of carbohydrates, your energy will be sapped and your carb-starved body will reflect the results

A good sourse to start your day..Oatmeal..not instant the good old fashion oatmeal. Eating oatmeal for breakfast can help you feel full so you're less likely to overeat later in the day.

Baked Potatoes: These babies are loaded with carbs. In fact, the average-sized potato is chalked with about 50 grams of carbohydrate, and - get this – they’re also fat-free. One medium potato is an excellent source of potassium, rich in vitamin C and a good source of fiber for only 100 calories, with no fat and no cholesterol. The key to adding potatoes to your diet is to consume them without any added spreads like sour cream or butter. Spice them up with seasoning!

Black beans, pinto beans, and kidney beans generally consisting of 40 grams of carbohydrate per cup.

Carbs give you energy. They actually stop the cravings. If sweets are your cravings, try an apple!

I eat veggies and fats. I just dont eat processed carbs like I eat multi grain bread and brown rice I just dont eat more then 60 carbs a day or so. sometimes I go up to 70. It became a lot easier to not eat junk food once i went off the diet though. I am a chip and cookie person. And while I eat them every once in a while I will eat one I dont crave them anymore.

I think it depends on what you mean by low carb... My mother in law does 'low carb' which to her means she eats very little with processed carbs. She eats plenty of veggies, and multi-grain items. Not so much with added sugar, bleached flour, etc. I think I've heard it said that the white carbs are the worst - very little nutritional value in them.

If you cut back on processed carbs but still get a good balance of whole grains/fruits/veggies/lean meat/lean dairy - you can probably do well. Keep in mind though, you do need some fat daily. Nuts, avocado, seafood - can be a great source of 'good' fats.

It's far better to be moderate in all things rather than deny yourself. Plus, you may lose with restriction, but you'll gain it back once you reintroduce those foods.

Look at the Spark People plans----they're well balanced, healthy, and sustainable for life.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~Colossians 3:23-24

I'm trying to stay in balance, but anything that restricts major food groups is hard for me to do. emoticon

My sister suggested a low carb diet about 2 months ago. BUt I got burnt out so fast that I stopped. How bad is low carb I mean I did lose 20 pounds and I have not gained it back. I was just wondering because I think a low cal even if it takes longer it worth it
