Those aren't in my food repertoire at all. So not much of a change for me.

I haven't switched to fall yet either. Today is cooler, but I'm trying to squeeze every last bit of summer out.

Not yet! Not all the fall foods have made it to the Alaskan grocery stores. I am anxiously awaiting the butternut squash! However, I did see pie pumpkins and that has been tempting me. A few years ago my office had a pumpkin potluck. We all had to make pumpkin inspired recipes and I knew that most people would go for the sweet recipes, so I decided to do a savory and made pumpkin deviled eggs. They turned out pretty dang good!

we have a local farmers market plus a lot of my friends have large gardens so I get produce in season. Last week it was tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, zucchini, spaghetti squash and pumpkin. We grew potatoes and onions. used the zucchini as noodles in an Alfredo recipe also my hubby's favorite blueberry muffins have shredded zucchini in them. We had the corn on the cob, made spaghetti squash in just about every possible way. the guys do not like it. tried fritters yesterday and still no dice. The pumpkin is still sitting on my counter until I figure out what to do with it. I might just cook it and puree it. package the puree into recipe size zip locks and freeze for later use. That's the problem with gardening - feast or famine. I have a pumpkin pudding recipe I like- sort of like the filling without the shell;might make that next week.

potato soup, and I"m looking for a good thick butternut squash soup. I also like to make apple crisp this time of year. Chili is always good in the fall, I like to make these all in the crock pot and save a bunch of small containers to freeze for lunches.

I've been slow cooking meals with butternut squash and roasting acorn squashes to stuff. Several cans of pumpkin are sitting on my counter right now to turn into healthy cookies and bars.

I occasionally have Butternut Squash with a meal, but my hubby won't eat it. About once a year I have a piece of homemade pumpkin pie, but that's the only way I use pumpkin.

Now that fall is here, are you using any fall foods such as pumpkin or butternut squash in your meal prepping?
