Just back from interview. I must say it's an amazing opportunity and I'm going to keep pursuing it, not just so I can nudge the ASPCA to hire me, but because it could really be a better fit for me. I love very much the mission of the A, but the longer I'm here, the more politics become the job rather than running the business and financials. Don't get me wrong, I know there are politics everywhere and I know they are part of the job, but the more complex the organization, the more politics......and this is one large organization!

Regardless, I hope to have an interview with the CEO next week. That will be the one that lets me know if I could really work there or not.

Have a great day everyone!

I can't fathom being able to do that with the breastfeeding. I needed a place to sit, a pillow, some amount of privacy, etc. Maybe it has something to do with the anatomy of how I'm built, but just holding the baby with one arm while feeding her and getting coffee with the other would have been impossible for me physically.

I know a lot of people just whip it out and have no issue with other people there, etc., and in theory I support that.......but still.....not for me. My SIL did that and I had to leave the room when she did. Actually both SILs were comfortable nursing in front of everyone, and I did it too, but I kept myself covered and so did the one SIL. The other one had, shall we say, a lot less modesty. It made me uncomfortable. And you know, I never made a big deal of it, never told her she didn't have the right to do it, but I did what made me comfortable. I think that's all we can really do.

Baby snuggles.......sounds wonderful. My teenager is away for the next two nights and I'll miss her......

We got a bit of snow and now it's super sunny. It's supposed to be really cold the next few days though. Ah March... The crocuses have started and the time change is this weekend!

Kourtney that is impressive! I'm not at that level at all lol. Enjoy those baby snuggles!

Carol, the travels sound wonderful :)

I got some nice breaks in routine this weekend including brunch with friends both Saturday and Sunday.

MORNING!!!

Laurie - huge hugs

Jen - so many hours spent nursing must be exhausting. I'm on a med that doesn't let me breastfeed, so I'm with you in spirit.

Heather - hope all is alright with Sydney. *hugs*

Carol - Barcelona is on my short list for places to visit. Enjoy!

OK first, a funny breastfeeding story: a few months ago I was at a local cafe. I was adding milk and sugar to my coffee and felt someone come up next to me. So I scooted over and looked over and saw a woman was prepping her coffee with one hand, holding a breastfeeding baby with the other. I laughed and told her that was "d@mn impressive" and she smiled really big and said "thanks! I've been practicing!" lolol

Anywho, yep, there's a baby here now. Her name is Amelia and she was born 2/23 - exactly one week early. I'll probably blog my labor story in the next week but tl;dr nothing went according to "plan" but all went well.

We had lots of visitors in the hospital and during the first few days, but have had time to ourselves the last couple of days. I'm treasuring this time just the three of us. Mike has to go back to work Monday :(. He has a good attitude about it, though.

I'm healing well and am doing well mood-wise as well, so very thankful about that.

Alrighty, I've been typing this with one hand bc of baby cuddles, so I better get back to that. xoxo

Thanks Carol! We had snow overnight so I'm working from home. It's so nice!!

The interview was moved due to my crazy schedule with trying to get the kid to the doctor, etc. The ultrasound was last Friday and I'll call the doctor soon to see if he has a report. I was supposed to have the interview this morning at 9, but I can't do that because of the snow. They were fine with moving it to tomorrow. So, either they really like me and are willing to meet with me whenever I can do it, or they are just really relaxed about this. Either way, I'll go to the interview tomorrow and do my best.

The sun just came out. It's beautiful now!! March is an interesting weather month here, as we often get snow, then it gets very warm the next day. I'm just glad to be home today.

I'm going to the pool tonight! Yay!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Kourtney - Congratulations on little Amelia! She's so precious...and SO MUCH HAIR! I think Casie was two before she had that much lol!

I thought I'd start the board since it's after 8 am here, I know it's after midnight there. We are on the western point of Portugal in Sagres. We have beautiful beach views from out flat and there are three beaches nearby that we are going to go check out. Last night we made dinner here with fresh shrimp, salad and sangria. We sat out on our balcony and had a lovely time. I'm thoroughly enjoying the travel part of being retired!

I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
