Hi guys! So, the organization I work for has been trying to find a permanent CFO for nearly two years. They are really struggling to make a good match.

I have a great working relationship so far with the Interim CFO because we are very similar in our approach to management and dealing with people.

I am going to talk to him today about the possibility of me becoming the CFO. I don't have the perfect background, but I'm close, and since clearly they can't find anyone else, perhaps I could be the match.

Wish me luck. Send me strength. It's daunting to think about this, but I know I could do a good job at this, especially since the plan is to keep the Interim CFO in place to get the new CFO up to speed for months. I'm nervous, but if I don't say something and at least share the interest in the position, I will kick myself if they hire a person I don't like as much as I like this guy.

Yay!!! Babies!!!

Jen, you look terrific and very happy! Kourtney can't wait to see your pic! When are you due?

My pregnancies were uneventful to the point of boring. But having that newborn sure isn't boring!

No ultrasounds here either. My first was two weeks late and my second was 6 days late. They don't let you do that anymore. They induce now if it goes too far over. My daughter had both her babies on her exact due date, 18 months apart, last day of September, last day of March. Makes birthdays easy.

Enjoy every moment!

You look AWESOME!!!

I didn't wish my pregnancies to be over, that's for sure! I loved the kicking and rolling and growing. It was the most amazing thing I ever went through! Both times were different and both were incredible...so much so that I was dying to have a third baby, which I probably would have felt the same after it so it was good to have a husband of reason. He said two was plenty. I had lots of "third children" over the years and that was great.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU TWO!!! Yes, make an effort to come and tell us how you're doing! We have to live vicariously through you hehe

With my first I was three weeks overdue lol...I was waddling and couldn't see my toes. He was ten pounds! Since they do ultrasounds I'm sure that doesn't happen anymore. Can you imagine no ultrasounds? Man, I'm old!

Happy birthday Heather!

We had such a lovely little vacation! We stayed in Cambria, did some wonderful kayaking, wine tasting, picnicking, swimming and dancing to live music. Life is great!

Now I'm working on our Portugal trip to make sure I get it all together. I have about 3 more airbnb stays to work out and an air flight, then I think I've got it all. I can't believe we're going for a whole month!

Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!

Thanks Jen!!

You look great!! I was very happy to be pregnant and had no issues with wanting it to go faster. I actually gave birth 5 weeks early, so I never go to that absolutely huge 38-40 week stage either. I say enjoy where you are because very soon all will be completely different. :)

Happy birthday Heather!

(yes, I spell Jen with one n :) )

This was last week at the shower, so 33 weeks.

A lot of the ladies in the fb group I joined for expecting mommas with Dec/Jan due dates have been posting about being sooo ready for pregnancy to be over. I kind of enjoy being pregnant, I'm excited for what's to come but also apprehensive enough about what life with a newborn is really like that I'm quite alright to let things go at their own time lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HEATHER! Hope you have some fun planned for your special day!

Best wishes to you gals expecting babies! It's such a special time. I remember being antsy for it to be over with, but it is soon enough. In the meantime, try to enjoy as much as possible. Life growing inside of you is so precious! :D

Still haven't taken the plunge into the pool in ages. Running has dwindled down to nothing...But the Crossfit classes are going well and I'm finally not DYING doing the workout of the day! I feel like I can't get going on the other stuff (better eating, more aerobics) until after our AZ trip (a wedding and then sticking around a few more days), which is total nonsense! But...that's the current "MO" with me, ridiculous as it is!!!!

Hi Kourtney! I've been wondering how you're doing :) the second trimester was pretty physically comfortable for me and I hope yours is too! Actually even my third trimester really hasn't been that uncomfortable... Sitting has just gotten a bit more tricky ;)

I've been really excited about my belly too, which is weird after feeling so bad about it for so long, but it feels so purposeful now

I'm home again for another sick day, feeling slightly better than yesterday but not enough to where I wanted to face work. More tea and rest for me...

Maybe I'll get on the actual computer in a bit so I can share a baby bump pic with you all

Morning all. Long time no talk!

I’m in a nice spot where my symptoms aren’t too bad. I’m 22 weeks now and look visibly pregnant. It’s very weird to me to be excited about this tummy - I’ve never really liked that part of my body.

The new job is still going well. They responded very positively to me being pregnant, which is a huge relief. Most importantly, I’ve kept up the habit of NOT working nights (or early mornings) or weekends. I’m extremely proud, not gonna lie.

Hmmm what else to catch you up on...

Mike is doing well. He’s been working too much (helping out w recruiting), but there’s an end in sight with recruiting season ending. He has to travel to south China for a couple weeks after Thanksgiving, which is lame but at least he won’t miss any holidays.

My family is doing well. They’re all very excited about the baby and figuring out visits around and after her birth has become...dramatic.

I’d like to add in some exercise again. I’ve been walking, but have otherwise taken a break since September. There are lots of reasons to do so (increased energy, stress relief, edema, prevent (?) gestational diabetes). But I’m hesitant to do any of my coached workouts, because I’m just not where I was and am worried I’ll push too hard or only be able to do some... maybe I’ll find a cheap gym where I can just get some elliptical in. There’s a planet fitness nearby that is cheap and simple - I think I’ll sign up tomorrow.

Ahhh tomorrow. I have a prenatal massage that I’m excited about. Because of that and an ob appointment I’m working from home, which means I may do some laundry and dishes and sign up for a gym :).

Ok enough babbling. I’m gonna try to be back more (I know I say that a lot :( I’m sorry) because I miss you guys.

xoxo

Hi folks

Called out sick and staying in bed.... Normally I probably would have pushed myself and gone to work (no fever) but nope, not this time, I need my rest!

Carol, what boggles my mind is that this particular manager goes through the motions of studying management but doesn't seem to grasp his own short comings. He goes to vistage meetings (which to me sounds a bit like a self help scam...) And tries to talk a good game about positive behaviors etc, but when it comes to actually comprehending how much a person can do before they burn out and how damaging the resentment of burnout is - he just doesn't see it.

Which is why I probably won't go back after the baby is born. How to bring in what income I need to bring in will be a logistical puzzle, but I'll find a way.

About all those gigs you did when the kids were young... ;)
