I agree with Jen - walk!

Two weeks is so short... I'm sure it's different. I explain the cultural expectations and house rules in a very matter of fact way. That way when they are super unsure and awkward they know what you expect. Reinforcing that during the stay really helps. Fifteen is super young, so talk about who she meets and ask if it's difficult to understand what people are saying if there's a whole group. She may have awesome English, but it really helps to show you understand what they're going through. For two weeks, I think that's the most important piece.

I know, Morocco! Tangier, Rabat, Fez, Casa Blanca and Marrakesh! We got a really good deal and from Rabat to Marrakesh we have a land tour with an English speaking guide and nice accomodations for $750 for 8 days! I got $200 off by finding coupons and a flight to Barcelona, round trip for $330!!! Now I just need to flesh the trip out...gee, so much work!

We've been assigned our exchange student! Her name is Lisa-Marie, she's 15, she's an only child, and she's absolutely adorable in her picture. I can't explain how excited I am to host her!!!

Carol, any tips for us? She's only here for two weeks, they are very busy doing things during the week, but we have weekends with her. Also, any tips on helping her feel comfortable?

Morocco! I'm jealous! I've always wanted to go there.

Heather, walking around the city counts ;) sounds like a good plan to me. Have fun with your exchange student! We got to do that a couple times when I was in highschool. I went to Germany twice and hosted a student twice. It was so much fun, in fact that's how I met my husband lol

Busy season at work and I just keep plugging away, doing my best to not take on too much stress from it all and focus on doing what I can. It's beautiful out today and maybe I can take a walk tonight or something.

Hi everyone!!! What a crazy morning. The commute was awful. But at least I was riding on a bus and not driving in it!!

My life has become insane. I'm so busy working and selling candles and doing kid things that I can hardly get anything else done. Workouts are a challenge right now! I may have to resort to putting on sneakers and walking down the city streets for a workout!!

It's all good tho. Life is good.

Carol, your retirement sounds amazing. I am pretty sure that I haven't set myself up financially to be quite as much a world traveler as you are, but I hope I'll have a great time anyway! I'd like to ditch the house, get an RV, and drive all over the country with hubby selling crafts and his art.

We have an exchange student coming!! She's coming from Germany with a group that is coming to my kid's high school. We'll have her for two weeks, which is just enough time for us.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!!
