Aw....sorry, too, Kourt, to hear about that. 2018 has been a rough year for you. I hope the remainder of the year goes much better!!!

Laurie...So nice to hear from you... Your grandchildren are beautiful. I'm sure you love visiting them. I'm anxious to see my Charlie Bear in a couple of weeks. She turns six in June. Can you believe it? She finishes kindergarten in a few short weeks and on to first grade in the fall. YIKES!

Only exercise I'm getting is walking around from point A to point B....I need motivation as well!

Warm weather is FINALLY here, so no more excuses!!!

Kourtney, I'm so sorry, I know it's so common and there's not a whole lot we can do to control the outcomes. It all feels like such a gamble.

Thank you Laurie. I hadn’t posted about it, but the farther away it’d gotten the more open I’ve been about it. emoticon

Awww Kourtney, I didn't know you were pregnant. I'm so sorry about your miscarriage! If you posted about it, it must have been at one of those times when I just couldn't get here. I'm sorry I missed it. emoticon

I'm not sure who here is friends with her on FB, but our friend Kelly (KellyIM) is pregnant with #2. Pretty far along too I guess... maybe 34 weeks?

Congrats to her!

Jenn - Raisin Bran crunch and whole wheat crackers were my go-to pre-miscarriage. The trick is to not get hungry everrr. So glad your checkup went well :) Slso I’m sorry if I seem a little quiet about your pregnancy. We would’ve been due a few weeks apart.

Now I’m in the waiting period w all my job apps. So keeping busy reading and in the garden. Just did a personal training session and ooo boy that was rough.

Laurie, you do have a lot going on! I hope you do get to wrangle some fun back into the schedule and the veggies will follow lol

Lynn, this is my first pregnancy and I really have very little knowledge of what to expect. I guess every person and every pregnancy is very unique though, so does anyone know what to expect?!

I've been a bit nauseous pretty much all day long for the past few days now. So I guess I'm into the thick of it and just have to wait for it to pass.

I've been doing ok with getting myself to eat anyways. Steady munching on bland crackers or pretzels helps and it doesn't take much to keep my stomach settled. Eating mini portions every few hours so that I don't get too empty helps too.

Damn! So much going on! As usual, I'm lurking and reading, but not posting much.

Job losses? Kourtney and Heather, that really sucks. I'm so sorry! You both seem to have good plans of action and a positive attitude, so I'm sure you'll both land something much better soon!

Jen's pregnant?! Yay! Congrats!

Retired but not retired... Carol LOL

Lynn, sounds like life is treating you very well! Happy to hear it.

I feel like I've been insanely busy but not having a lot of fun. I did spend three weeks in South Carolina with my daughter and family, helping out with the new baby. She's so cute! I had a lot of fun with them.

Here she is at 2 weeks old - Chloe Jay emoticon

And her big sister Eliana Ruth with Mimi emoticon (I was supposed to be Grammie, but she can't say it, so I guess I'm Mimi now! Which is fine, I like it better anyway emoticon )

I so wish they lived closer!

So now I'm in catch up mode, which is not fun. I do have a lot of work coming in though, so at least I know I'll have an income for the next couple of months! Feast or famine in this business. I am also trying to set a time table for moving back out into outside office space. I don't mind working at home, but it's getting tiresome to have to drive out to see clients. I'd much rather have a space for them to come to me. So much time spent in the car, which is not billable! It gets old.

No exercise for me either. I haven't been swimming in months. And my eating habits have totally fallen apart. I haven't been able to bring myself to eat a vegetable in months either. I occasionally get out on a hike with my son, but basically I feel pretty fat and out of shape. ATM I simply do not have the mental wherewithal to get out there and do it. So... it'll happen when it happens!

Not much else going on here. Work, eat, sleep, lather, rinse, repeat. I need to make time for more fun.

Jen....Glad to hear things are going well. Are you getting morning sickness? Is this your first pregnancy? My first one gave me all day sickness, but somehow, I managed to eat and gain weight in spite of that. And while my friends all felt better by month 3, it took me EIGHT months to get over it! Practically the whole time! LOL But it wasn't super bad...just annoying. I remember my ultra sound. I had thought we saw a heart beat, but the tech told us that was the embryo/fetus !!!! They bounce around from the ultrasound! The heart is way too small at this point to be seen. I was concerned that it wasn't good for the baby to be bouncing around like that, but the tech reassured me they do this on gazillions of babies all the time with zero issues! Ha, ha.... Anyway...enjoy this time....so special!

Heather...Sorry to hear life is handing you a bunch of lemons these days. You seem to have a great attitude in spite of it all. Best wishes with your garage sale.

Busy day for me....a cut and color and then oldest son took a couple of vacation days for his birthday and we are headed to a park and gardens area (Kourtney would know where I'm talking about...Cantgny Park...gardens and war museum). The museum is absolutely amazing as it's all American war history that is interactive...as though you were really there. You walk through all kinds of areas that is like on the front lines or behind them in real life as certain battles of each war are explained. All this for $5.00 per car! It's a foundation from a late colonel that willed all this to the public.

Enjoy the rest of this week, all!

Lynn

Today I am thankful for saltines lol

Small frequent meals... I've heard that advice before somewhere!

Had anyone else noticed that the spark food reaching isn't particularly accurate? At least it's giving me an idea and a good record of how I'm doing in terms of variety.

The doc was happy with how things are going so far. She'll do a sugar test on me early because of family history. I didn't have many questions for her, which she seemed surprised by, but I really don't know what else to ask ::shrugs::

Fun times. Halfway through the week though!

Hi folks

Yesterday was crazy anyway. I did get a nice studio night in though in lieu of a workout. The weather has been beautiful and it's nice to open all the windows at home.

My second ultrasound was yesterday and Randy (my hubby) came with. We got to see a little flicker of a heartbeat and that was so cool! Definitely has me feeling a little more confident that things can go ok. I'll see my Dr this afternoon and hopefully she'll have a little more reassurance for me.

I also visit my shrinky dink tonight. I've been so glad I finally decided to see a therapist a couple years ago, and I'm pretty sure she's going to be especially helpful navigating preggo emotions.

Hi all! Well, I'm a little late starting the new thread! Yikes, it's Tuesday already. My life is again in some turmoil, so I'm just trying to roll with it!

I had a nice weekend with family and I got right back to the job searching, networking, etc. work yesterday. I'm also cleaning out the house to have a garage sale and sell everything I can find that we don't need! I've become an incredibly bad pack rat and I have to get rid of things.

I'll give some thought to the challenge we all talked about and as long as someone else hasn't already done it and I missed it, which is completely possible these days, I'll get a challenge organized for us by the end of the week!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE week!!
