I know, it's really not. It's a senior living center with 1800 residents. I honestly don't know what to say other than sell at a higher price, get a bigger down payment to cover the ongoing costs of the advanced care facility, or promote the restaurants more to drive revenue there.

I gave a few examples of how I partnered with operations at C3i to reduce temp costs by over $3MM by changing how we staffed for temp needs. I talked about how I reduced payroll staff and still provided the same level of service thereby saving G&A costs. I think I gave another example of how I worked with the ops departments at C3i, but I can't recall what I might have said.

Maybe they were just being nice. :)

That said, any thoughts you would care to share on what I could say I've thought about the last week to help increase their sales would be greatly appreciated. :)

But driving revenue isn't hard! You should come up with something to give the recruiter where they could go back to them!

I heard from the recruiter on Monday. They loved me, I was by far the best person they've seen and they know technically and personality wise I'm perfect for the job, but...I don't have enough operational experience working with sales to drive revenue growth. So, that wasn't even in the job description nor was it told to the recruiter. Had it been, I could have saved us all a lot of time and energy. I know what I can and can't do, and if an employer isn't willing to take my skill set and then let me learn on the job, then I could have told them I wasn't the right fit for the job.

They left it as they are going to recruit for a few more weeks and they may come back to me if they can't find anyone else. That was a bit insulting but the truth is if they pay enough and are willing to understand what I can and can't bring to the table, then I still would be interested in the job. It's closer to home and it's a better job than this current one. But my guess is they will offer it to someone else in this next round and they've already crossed me off the list.

That said, the current job is fine, and I'm cranking along with it. No job is perfect!! I'm working to make this one work for me.

I'm in training for the dance recital in June. I need to get in better shape and drop some pounds before I have to get up on that stage!!

Have a great day everyone!! The sun is shining and it's a tiny bit warm here today. Yay!!

Brownme - If you can afford to buy a waterproof music player, I find that it is the answer to my needs for swimming. I even started making sets out of the music and swim to the beat. When I start to get bored I listen to the words or the beat, or imagine myself singing...since you can't actually do that haha. I'm not training for anything. I never know when my ankle will revolt and disallow me to do an event (I broke in in over 20 places and it's missing pieces...but amazingly it pretty much works). I am doing carpentry, painting and the like for about ten hours a day, so right now my trainer bike is sitting idle because don't want to overdo it.

Heather - I'm so hopeful for this job for you. I still haven't decided if I'll take a job, I wish they'd stop giving me options lol...I guess I'm not like you, all screwed up company type jobs sound good to me and I like different cultures as long as there are no psychos... I'm thinking I may wait until September to look and may turn down the current pending job (assuming they offer for me). I am $10-20k higher than their range and I wouldn't take a penny less...so maybe they'll find someone cheaper. With the current employment situation, I'm not too sure.

Jen - I've been watching your weather and it's nuts! But, it could be worse, you could be in Miami - It's going to be underwater before the government actually admits to global warming.

Happy to say I have been ramping it up in the pool, a little more each workout. Swam 1500 yards today.

Using a pull bouy to really push it with the arms/shoulders.

Looking forward to some open water events this summer. Glad to be out of my rut.

What are other people training for? How is it going?

Hi Folks :)

Happy first day of Spring!

Not that you can tell here... we're forcasted to get around a foot of snow tomorrow with our fourth nor'easter in three weeks O.o I read an article today linking the warming Arctic with harsher winter storms on the eastern seaboard. Makes me wonder what the future will be here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

But, I had a taste of spring with a salad of fennel, strawberries, and spring greens with sesame vinaigrette and feta today. Definitely going to make that again.

I hit the Y last night for a treadmill workout, and I'll be shoveling tomorrow!

Good Morning! Monday has turned out to be a busy morning for me this week, so I'm getting a late start here.

I'm about to have my salad and pasta with broccoli for lunch. Yummy!!

I was busy all weekend with my daughter's dance competition. It was fun!! It's a bittersweet year for me as this is her last year dancing. She's going to stop early and not finish out as a competitive dancer through her senior year because she just has too much to do. I'm enjoying every moment of being with her and watching her shine on stage. But man, she's done with it. You would never be able to tell by watching her, but it's very clear to me when we talk that she's done. So, one down, four to go and then we are done with dance.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!!! Stay active!!!
