What a crazy week this has been for me! We are trying to come down to tax planning on my new companies, but the data is so messed up that it's very difficult. For one company I had to take the whole year back to zero so that I could set it up correctly. It's a manufacturing plant of juices (which is super fun!), but they weren't set up in any way that made sense...they directly expensed all of their materials instead of putting them into inventory so all the timing is off. Plus, all companies have their payroll done in a sister company and none of it has been entered into these companies until I got here. So...busy day.

Next year...I am energized about next year too. I have a whole newbie staff, but many of them are absolute gems and I'm doing crash course training and their loving it. Maybe in retirement I should start a business school!

I agree about these short days. Normally I'm pining for light...but because I have this crazy job, I'm not pining as hard since I go to work in the dark and get home in the dark!

Hi folks :)

I had a wonderful Christmas weekend! Since Christmas Eve was on Sunday, I have today off from work. I've been wrapping up some of my art business tasks that have been left undone and enjoying the sunshiny house. It's so bright in this house, which is a great break from my very dark cubicle. It's been a little taste of what I want in the coming year, which will make going back tomorrow hard.

This time of year is hard for me with the shortened daylight, I have the urge to just curl up and hibernate - which is of course not actually helpful. So I'm doing my best to take on tasks one at a time and balance the need to rest with the need to be productive. I'm thinking I need to pair a trip to the y with my trip to the bank this afternoon...

Heather, I'm feeling energized about 2018 too. I'm ready to act on some of the things I've learned over the past few years and thought about doing but haven't. Here's hoping for a good year!

Good Morning! Welcome to the final week of 2017!! I hope it was a good year for you all! If there's anyone new who wants to chat with us, please do!!

I had a lovely Christmas weekend with a lot of family time and relaxing. We had dinner at a friend's house last night, and it was really nice!

I'm feeling energized about 2018. I think it's going to be another good year. 2017 was good in many ways, and challenging in a few. But overall right now things are on an upswing. Yay!!

I'm looking forward to getting home and on the treadmill tonight. It's so cold here I won't be able to ride the horse. And for now, swimming isn't fitting into my life. Hopefully in 2018 I can find a way to make it work again!

Have a great week everyone. Enjoy!!!
