Hi Kourtney! We would love to see you back! You are always welcome to come and go as you can.

Laurie - I love the baby pics! She's so beautiful. I wish we Maureen would decide to have a little one! hehe

Heather - Sydney will handle it. Love the dance and the music choice!

*waves shy-ly* (shyly? shily?) - hey guys. long time no chat.

Not super ready to give a full update yet, but I'm trying to get back in the swing of eating better and losing weight. And hoping to come back here a lot and reconnect.

Hopefully see you more soon :).

xoxo

The party was nice.....short for me as I only went to the cocktail party part and I didn't stay for dinner. Your party sounds better though! Companies that I work for never seem to have parties with gifts anymore.....we had our company party last Thursday night after work. It was nice, but I had to leave early for dance class.......which was fine because dance was fun!

Sydney is doing cheer and dance. She cheers through the high school and dances at the same dance school we've gone to since she was in kindergarten. I hear ya on the cattiness....it was so awful for a while that I really didn't want her to even go in by herself to dance class. I wanted to be in there with her, but of course we aren't allowed in the actual classes! It was really miserable as the moms were horrible and the kids were worse. We just cut ties with all of them. There was a group of 5 girls and moms that were mean and bullying, and these girls had become Sydney's friend group before they turned on her. I told Sydney the best revenge was to just do her best and ignore them. She went on to place in solos in every competition last year, and only one of the mean girls placed once all season in 5 competitions. So, they pretty much left her alone.

Also, since it's just you and me in here right now, I'll go on to say that as the nastiness started in the summer of 2015, the school started rehearsing for the 2016 comp season. So, Sydney goes back to dance after nationals, which is where a lot of the nastiness really started, and she is cast as the lead in one of the numbers. Many of the group numbers don't really have lead roles, but this one sure did. That absolutely cemented the bullying and nastiness. Poor kid really struggled with why everyone was suddenly mean to her when they had been good friends. Jealousy is an ugly thing........

Here's a link to that dance if you want to take a peek. Sydney plays Nicely Nicely Johnson and comes to center stage about 10 seconds into the piece....in her absolutely adorable short hair boy wig. :)

It's settled down from the craziness, and now it's just kinda rote for Sydney. She likes it, but not like she used to. I think she'd rather be doing things at school or with friends rather than dance. She doesn't really have friends at dance anymore, which is really fine with me. There are a few nice folks, and I stick with them when we are at competitions. Or, I just hang with my kid and my hubby.

I think what Cassie is doing sounds amazing!! What a cool kid!!

Haha I have one of those parties on Thursday and it's an hour away. I'm thinking I'll try to get hubby to come and then we can go for a fun dinner or something. It's in the town where we are wine members...so maybe I'll leave work early and we can do a wine tasting then go. We had our company Christmas party on Saturday and since I'm brand new I bowed out because the kids were coming. It's apparently very formal and they give away a ton of stuff to everyone. My A/R lead got a 40" tv.

Is Sydney doing cheer and not dancing? I like cheer because it's less involvement from dance moms. When Casie went to college she joined the school dance team and it was more dance and less cheer and they were catty. She dropped. But when she did her year in Chile she joined there and she still has friends from that group. It's all lead to yoga and that's been a great thing for her. She and a friend did a retreat and she made $1,400 from the weekend so now she knows she can do that. In January she's going to an AcroYoga training for a couple of weeks and that should be fantastic. I think adding that to her skill set will help set her apart. Plus, I think it's a good thing to keep her busy while she's waiting to get on full time with Wanderlust. She's also trying to get on their South America events since she fully bilingual.

My work is super fun right now. I'm under a lot of pressure to perform at a really high level, which I totally enjoy. They had a failed implementation and I can't see a footprint of ever having a real accountant in the house. It's been very frustrating to the owner since he owns so many businesses and he'd like this to be his jewel. The amazing thing is I will be able to give it to him and I'm thinking I can do it pretty quickly now that I've hired one of my old people back. I'm kinda hoping I will eventually also be able to bring on my IT guy virtually.

Hi Carol! Hi everyone!!

Sounds like you had an amazingly busy weekend! Mine was pretty busy as well, but not as physical as yours. I met with a potential client, but he really doesn't need an accountant.....yet. I gave him some free advice out of the consultation and I'll give him a few pieces of written info, and then I'll just wait until his business grows. He's my hubby's Tai Chi teacher, so the connection is already made.

Sydney had her first cheer competition this weekend, and she really looked like she was having fun. The team didn't do very well......it's a lot different than dance competitions! But, it was also a lot less time invested, so that was good from my perspective.

Hubby and I made 7 cases of candles this weekend, and we have about 10 more to make before this weekend's craft fairs. We sure hope we sell them all!!

Tonight I have a holiday party to attend. It's our bank's party for their clients. I really don't want to go, but I believe it's expected, so I'm going! I won't drink so I can go home and work out!!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE week!!!

Good morning fellow fishies! Who here is ready for Christmas? I want to get my hubby a weekend getaway and maybe a couple more things for my best friend. How about you?

I basically worked out all weekend long and am super sore today. We pulled out all of the carpeting and pads in our house, then pulled up all the tack strips and staples...they really went to town on stapling down the carpet pad! I also stripped the wallpaper in the first bedroom and started sanding the walls. Tonight, if I'm up to it, I will try to finish prepping the room for painting.

I have a busy work week ahead and better get to it!
