You know I am going to take you up on the offer when we get out there, and thank you for the generous offer! I'd really like to get the kid out West before she goes to college, and that's only three years from now! Guess I need to start planning!!

Well, we are building an art studio that will also be a self-contained apartment, so if you ever want to come stay here you are welcome to.It would really cut down the cost of the trip! We are about 20 minutes away from Monterey and less than 2 hours to San Francisco.

Yikes, shark attacks!! Wow....well, that would keep me out of the ocean. I've never lived out of the mid-Atlantic, so I'm kinda used to what we have here. I think variety is the spice of life however, so I'd like to know what it's like to live in CA. I've always wanted to move there. Maybe when I retire I can just spend some time traveling there. I've been out west a few times, but not since I was about 20, so I guess it's time again!

Yeah, you guys have random lakes...we sure don't. It's so funny growing up in California...we have rivers that run once a year and for the rest of the time they are dry. I'm excited to live further north where there really are rivers and lakes. That being said, I've never done river kayaking but it sounds like fun. We used to do a fair amount of ocean kayaking, but now that we are further north we don't. There have been more great white sharks here in the last year than ever and a fair number of kayak attacks...to the point where we're all a lot more careful that we ever have been.

We have one single and one double kayak. We actually also have two other single kayaks that we are holding onto for our friends who moved from a house to an apartment a few years ago. We've had them four years, and haven't seen the friends use them for over two, so maybe by common law, they are soon to be ours!? Lol. Just kidding...

We have a small lake we can kayak on about 10 minutes from our house up at the state park. The Delaware river is very close as well, but we never kayak on the river. I suppose we could try it, but I'm a bit intimidated by the river. I think lakes are the way to go for me right now!

How close is kayaking for you? Do you have singles or a double?

Good Morning. As always, as someone who lived through this day 16 years ago in lower Manhattan, I'm a little bit subdued and not quite as able to be bubbly today. For me this day will always be a day of remembrance.

However, life has moved on, and for that I'm grateful. I'm having a wonderful time in my life right now, and that's a very nice place to be.

I had a great weekend of watching high school football and my daughter cheerleading, watching a pep rally on Saturday for the rec league (for which Sydney is an assistant coach for a team of 5 and 6 year old cheerleaders), and attending a tiny football game on Sunday for said team and cheerleaders! It was really fun, and the weather was lovely.

I got some good workouts in on the treadmill and that was great! Maybe this weekend we can actually get our kayak out in the water so we don't go all season without using it. It's been a crazy busy summer!

I hope everyone living in Florida is safe. I know so many people who either stayed put, or evacuated and so far, everyone is safe. We lived through Hurricanes Irene and Sandy over the last few years, so I can relate to the stress of the big storms.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE week!
