I bet any government agency would be thrilled to have your management experience, Carol. Sounds like a good plan!

There are no jobs for me near where I live. I have to commute a minimum of an hour to find a population density that supports a job like mine. I know NJ seems overpopulated, and frankly down here near the city where I work now is overpopulated, but where I live there seem to be more cows and horses than people. My current commute is an hour and 20 minutes each way with no traffic! That's why I really want to finally get this practice set up and lucrative enough to quit the outside job.

Yes, incremental changes!

Like me! I've applied to two companies! Haha...it's not like where you are Heather! We are a tiny area. I think I'm going to apply for a bunch of government positions that are currently open. I'm not qualified in that I've never done any government accounting, but they're looking for upper-level accounting managers and we really don't do that much actual accounting and I guarantee I can get a team to do whatever is needed...

Incremental changes, right? That's what we do on spark! Hehehe

I got a swim in for the first time in too long before the thunderstorms last night. Got some painting done too! I was having fun being next to a girl's swim team practice, trying to mimic their breast stroke movements. My shoulders sure felt the difference

We also shared a few pairs of eclipse glasses with the group of co-workers who wanted to see it. I really got a kick out of it and was glad I was able to get the glasses in time for it. I'm saving them for the next time! One less little thing on the landfill......

Good idea on yelp Carol. I'll take all the ideas and help I can get as I figure out this marketing thing. Another early step I'm working on is getting certification for QuickBooks Online and then I will be listed as one of their certified practitioners so if anyone is searching there for a bookkeeper or accountant, I'll come up in the search. I really think I could handle 10 small business clients and make decent side money doing this. Many more than that and I'll have to think about hiring some help! LOL. One step at a time......

One of the guys at work bought eclipse glasses and was nice enough to share, we saw about 75% and it was cool to share the moment with coworkers, I didn't expect they'd get into it like they did :)

I haven't been a total bump on a log the past week but I need to get myself to the pool soon for some laps...

That sounds like a solid plan Heather. You might also want to yelp the businesses around you that are in an industry you're interested in, get to their web page and email them. It can't hurt.

Laurie - 7 days a week? Jeez. It's too bad you're so far away, we'd come help with flooring if we could! We just ripped out all of our carpet and replacing it with fossilized bamboo and I'm loving the look!

Good Morning! Happy Eclipse Day 2017!! emoticon I have my glasses and I'm ready to see the partial eclipse this afternoon. I think maybe I'll make plans to go to the path of totality for the next one in 7 years. It's crazy we get two total eclipses in the US so close to each other!!

I'm feeling pretty up. I'm back on track with my exercise and making progress on the scale going down again. Yay!! I also feel very healthy mentally. The exercise sure helps with that!!

This week is a normal work week and I'm pretty happy about that. I really do like this job.

I also have my plan in place for my CPA side business, and I'm starting to make a little progress with that. I just want to get a little income in before I spend money to join the chamber of commerce and get the member list. That will be my first direct marketing project.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!
