Hi folks :)

Just finished up a swimmer's mile, yay!

There's a bike ride I wanted to go on this Saturday but I haven't gotten out on the roads enough to feel comfortable going, especially with how hot it's supposed to be here. Sooo I'll probably swim instead.

Yes, please, I wish we could, but as is very clear this week, it's nearly impossible to get people to agree on the best course of action. It's sad how many of our decisions are driven by health insurance options.

In my last job the company covered 75% of the employee premium but none of the family amount. There were few who chose family coverage, likely because of that. I am the only one with a job in our family, so I usually choose family coverage. After I joined the company I found out my premium would be $1650 a month for family coverage. That was just health coverage. Add in dental and it was more like $1800 a month. That's over $21,000 a year. And you know those people didn't tell me that until AFTER I accepted the job and had started. Lesson learned the hard way......this time I asked for the info and everyone of course gave it to me up front so I could make an informed decision on salary. That last company stunk in many ways.......this was just one of them!!!

I'm so happy in this new job I'm kind of still in shock that a company can be well run, full of nice and trained people and with enough people to do the job so that no one is over stressed. It's really nice. The person I'm replacing has assured me that it won't suddenly be more stressful once she's gone. What I see is what I get!! Phew.

I was back on the treadmill last night. It was great!! And now I have a four day weekend to look forward to. I hope that we will kayak on Saturday!

Have a great day everyone!!

Yeah Heather, I have fourteen more months before I can hang up my job. Although, I think I'm going to switch jobs once I get back. I need to find something like another implementation where I won't feel bad about leaving after only a year. I figured I'd talk to a short term placement team to see what they have available. I do need insurance if I can get it. I can't really go on my husband's insurance since they are extending his insurance even though he's only part time...I just don't think that would be right.

It's amazing how a lot of decisions come down to insurance in this country...can't we please do something about that?

I'm so glad I'm back to tracking food. There's nothing quite like having to record every single thing that goes into your mouth to make you aware of your eating!!! It's always a choice. It's easy to become unaccountable and stop paying attention. Once I do that, I start gaining weight......it's going to be something I really have to do the rest of my life in some way or another to keep me focused on good choices.

Sydney made the cheerleading team, and I'm very excited for her! She worked very hard for this, and I'm so proud of how she bounced back from not making it last year and then just making it as an alternate for the winter season to fully making the team this year!! Yay Sydney!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Carol, it looks amazing!! So beautiful. I need to put a trip like this on my list of "trips I'd like to do"!

It's another nice day here at work.....so far, so good. I mean, would I rather be well off enough not to have to work and have all my financial needs met by not having an income producing job....well yes. But I haven't been able to set up my life that way just yet. So if I have to have a 9 - 5 job, this is the one I want!!

I gotta go track food and fitness now. Focus!!!

Bali has been so wonderful!

This is our little pool in a total downpour. It rained so hard during the evening and through the night...we knew we weren't in California! After hiking to a waterfall it was so nice to come and soak in the pool. They were laughing at me this evening because I was doing laps which was one stroke. Still counts as pool time!

This place is a two bedroom, two bath villa with a view of the rice paddies. It's an artists area and it's amazing. I'll try to get some pictures up on Facebook.

Good Morning!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I actually had a ton of fun at the recital and I'm excited to dance again next year! There was so much silly drama there this year, but that's behind us now and we are going forward into the new year with a new attitude!! Well, I am. Kid has had a good attitude the whole time!! Even when the girls were super mean, she maintained her professionalism. She's the best!!!

So, I'm settling into work and a new routine that will make it easier to get myself together on the food and fitness. I'm focused on positive care of myself and my life. I think it's time to start tracking food and fitness again. Seeing in on the "page" helps me to stay on track. It's time to finally start losing weight again.

Carol, I hope you are having fun on your trip!!!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE week!!!
