OMG Laurie, take very, very good care of yourself and your family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi all... how's the chat week thing going? I keep forgetting to log on, because now I don't get a notification of a new thread every day so I forget. But here I am, better late than never! For whatever reason, I can't see a "subscribe to thread" button on my phone, and that's mostly where I log on to Spark.

Anyway... I don't want to cry about all the details, but I believe March and April were about the most stressful months of my entire life. I have very little money coming in because the business is drying up, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to maintain this office. I'm trying to decide what to do about that - I do have some options - and also trying to decide where is the best place to put my very limited advertising dollars. I am working on a website that I hope will go live in the next couple of weeks. I'll put up the link when it does.

On the tragic side of life, my ex-husband suddenly passed away on March 29. My daughter happened to be here visiting with the baby, and she called 911 after she heard a loud noise in the bathroom at 5 am. He was getting ready for work, and just collapsed. It was shocking and horrifying and devastating... my poor kids :-( I still can't think about it in any depth without crying. His mother who lived with him went to live with one of his brothers, and I have his dog. My daughter went back home to South Carolina, and my son, bless him, has stepped up and is taking care of all the estate work. Representing estates for a living, I know how much work it is, and now painful it can be. He didn't want me to handle it, so I referred him to a colleague I thought would be a good fit, and he really likes her. He said he needed me to be his mom and not his attorney. So be it... the whole thing still freaks me out. If I were still married to him, I'd be a widow now. Even though we hadn't lived together for a long time and didn't have a day-to-day relationship, we remained friends, and I can't begin to tell you how much this just saddens me to my core.

Anyway, that's my sad story.... things can only get better from here, right?

Happy Friday!!!! I had so much fun at my dance class last night. It's great exercise and I really enjoy it a lot.

The interview went very well, and I am hopeful I make it to the next round. But I have a few other options cooking as well, and I am just going to plug away until I get the right fit. The current job seems secure at this point, so that keeps me from panicking. I'm good at what I do and seeing the issues we have here in hiring competent and mature employees makes me feel confident that if I keep looking I will be the perfect candidate somewhere.

It's a beautiful day here, which is so nice!!!

To those that celebrate, have a nice Easter weekend!

For all of us, enjoy some time away from work and have a FUN and ACTIVE weekend!!!

The best thing about Nav is that it's a Microsoft product and if you go with the cloud-based version then Power BI is built in, plus it plays very nicely with SQL server SSRS.

The best thing about having implementations under your belt is that in an interview companies seem to appreciate the technical abilities.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns out to be a great job and that you get the offer!

Hi all! Happy Thursday!! I'm so excited because this afternoon I have an interview with the CFO at the company that is interested in me. So far, I seem to be the only candidate they are interested in that the staffing company has sent. That honestly doesn't mean there aren't other agencies sending candidates, but I suppose that doesn't really matter. They seem very interested so far, so I just keep doing the best I can to listen to their questions and answer the interview questions honestly and with a lot of enthusiasm. I really am interested in working for the company, so that helps.

Had a great workout last night! And tonight is dance class, so that should be good too!!

Enjoy the day everyone!!!

Jen, slow and steady wins the race! Spring is when a lot of us start to get going again! I'm feeling kind of the same way......so each day I commit to my bare minimum 15 minute workout. As I get going on it, I find I usually want to go longer.

Carol, that's how I'm looking at the Dynamics GP implementation here. I can add it to my resume and discuss how I am working on the implementation as part of my arsenal of skills.

It's another day here at work........smiling and being positive will help it go by faster.......

I just hit my first year mark. They've just hired a new manager at corporate and if he's a "real" manager, there might be hope. I can't really start looking until after bonuses but I'm not worried about finding a job. I knew I was coming to work for a screwed up company. They have a very high turnover rate in the top slots of management, but I wanted the implementation of the NAV ERP. NAV is a Microsoft product and I figured I could get it up and running so I'd have that in my toolbelt. It's up and running...so it's probably time to start thinking about moving on.

It's starting to get dark later so I need to start carrying weights in my backpack to get ready for backpacking season!

Carol, how long have you been with this company? Is it two years? I know without a doubt you'll find something great for yourself. You're really good at this job searching thing!

It's another day here......I'm honestly doing my best to be engaged with my job. I prefer to leave on my own terms, not theirs, so it's best to just keep on going.......

I had a great workout last night!!! I'm happy to be moving again!!!

Have a great day all!!

Yeah, I'm going to start looking for a job right after bonuses come out.

My husband's last day at his job is the 21st of this month! I'm so excited for him to move on to something new and different. He has been with this company for about 18 years so it will be fun to do something else.

We are just about done with fixing up our rental house and hope to get it listed after next weekend. That means that we'll be doing landscaping next weekend, which is a great full body work out.

Hello and welcome to a new week!!! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a lot of fun at a dance competition. Sydney did great with a second place overall for 13-15 year old soloists. Her group dances did very well as well, with one of them placing second overall and one placing first! Whoo hooo!!!

So, this week I'm focused on trying to get a new job. And my food intake. The plan is to have a new job by June 1 at the latest. I'm moving deliberately in that direction. And as far as food, I've packed my healthy lunch and will continue that all week.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE week!!!
