I dunno Jon, there's been a lot of quiet people lately too...

I did finish a piece for a show! It wasn't all that great in my critical opinion, but I finished it and learned a lot in the process for the next one. The idea is to take political/historical poems, court decisions, and speeches and present them as illuminated pages (like my scrolls for the SCA that I make) but on a larger scale - 18 x 24 or so. Calligraphy that large is hard!

Work is work and I sit in a cube... it's not that bad, but on pretty days like today it's hard to stay in a dark cube. I went to the Y on my way home from work, got my treadmill in. I've been slacking for too long and the effects of sitting in a cube are making themselves known. Keeping a 3.5-3.7 pace on the self powered tread was hard enough that I didn't put any running in. This other Y has much better lap lane availability so I might start swimming there during the weeks...

Definitely keep stuff set up outside of work that you can look forward to. Play with the Paris idea as often as possible! Haha...you'd probably die at the place I'm working at - haha. Neither the owner nor the president here have any management background, one is from a VC background and the other from sales. There are 5 VPs, of which, only one has management background and he's operations, so it's not much help to me. It's really kind of a joke. About once a year or every other year there's a huge turnover of competent people. BUT, I'm learning NAV ERP software and that's worth a lot to me. Once I get my bonus I'll start looking...or if for some reason they try to withhold it, I'll walk away. I'm having fun and ignoring the lack of talent and leadership, you just can't let it get you down!

We had a beautiful sunrise and I walked down to the beach. Life is good.

Good Morning!!! It's Wednesday!!! Half way through the week, so yay!! I have a lot to do that is non-emotional and totally work focused, so I'm really happy about that. I'm feeling good about myself again and realizing that the leadership here isn't great but that doesn't need to stop me from being amazing! For now, this is where I work so I'm going to do all that I can to make it positive!!

Also, I have a riding lesson set up for Thursday. As always, having things outside of the office or my kid or my home to focus on makes me more balanced. Plus, spring is coming so I can ride again! If I do it regularly it is very good for my soul.

I hope everyone is doing great today!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!
