Maybe it's more common than I thought to not close. At my old company, we had help desks that never closed either. But we put the staff up in hotel rooms right next to the office so no one had to drive in the snow. The back office staff would work from home on days like this. The admin staff just got the snow day and didn't work. Hmmmm, maybe it was pretty generous where I was before!!

Hi gang!

Here for the snow as well. Eastern LI supposed to a smacked worse than west of us. Considering the "The Sky Is Falling" of the weather reporters I have no idea what to expect. All I can ask is shoveling before work, not after, but that doesn't seem to be an option this time.

A nice salad and workout? Sounds perfect! 15? We have one and I'm considering using it for tomorrow. The Missus has already yelled at me (nicely) about going in tomorrow. Yeah, we never close either.

Cold white stuff Carol? (grin) Stop it, stop it now. Glad you're feeling better.

Usual workout and a stupid employee trying to undermine me. I'm the adult and refuse to respond while not to expose what could be a really good employee if he just gets over the New Manager Itis thing..

I finally heard back.....and the guy wants to talk. He said he'd call....he also asked if I could go to Florida one day next week. So, positive movement. The thing is I don't really want to take another PTO day for an interview if it isn't moving to an offer. The place I work is pretty stingy with leave time and I'm used to having 28 days PTO. Now I have 15! So, I'm kinda hording what I have just in case I'm here longer than I want to be.

Now here's something else interesting.....we are about to get a huge snowstorm overnight with predictions of up to 10 inches of snow starting middle of the night and going through early afternoon. But, the office will not close. I literally had to tell the staff that doesn't have laptops (which are the AP processors and the cash processing guy) that if they can't make it here tomorrow they can make up the day by working an extra hour every day for eight days. Or they can take PTO. I think that's awful. How unprofessional is that? A near blizzard and these poor people have to come in. This place stinks. I can't get out of here fast enough.

OK, time to go home!!!

Snow...that's the cold white stuff, right? Yeah, not in my yard! Haha, I am such a coastal Californian.

I'm getting over this stupid sickness - yay! I haven't walked since last Thursday. I'll need to make up for it, but I have to wait and not push it.

Well Heather, we may both be looking for new jobs at the same time! I've got the new system up and running, so I could leave...

Good Morning!! Happy Hump Day! We are nearly half way through the work week, so yay!

Everyone here is all excited about the impending snow storm. We've had so little snow the last two winters that it's actually an event that we're getting snow. Normally we get so much that people are usually not to worked up about it. I'm excited because I will be able to work from home and get a lot of work done! Also, I can start applying for jobs again.......from my home computer!

I had a good workout last night! And I had a nice small salad for dinner. Feeling really good about that!!

I hope you are feeling a bit better today Carol.

Winter can be tough, especially for those of us who like to be outside and swim!!! Hang in there guys, spring is coming!!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!
