Very cool for you and inspiring for others, Heather! Congrats and rock 2017!

Long and slow for both is the tortoise as opposed to hare and we all know how that turned out (could say the same thing for Heather's every-day regardless regime). You'll get there and think how good it will feel for both art and debt.

Everyone split at lunch but too many things to wrap up and set up so I stuck around. Blech but I want to hit 2017 running. The weight is up by a few against my annual personal challenge of being the same weight the day after New Years as the day before Thanksgiving but heck, I've only hit that challenge once. I'll rock it shortly in January.

Hi folks :)

Heather I love that, it's a well told story and very inspiring!

Looking back it's been a very transitional year for me, since getting the new job in April it's been a 'goal' of sorts to kick back a little and enjoy the pay raise and steadiness that comes with a more healthy work atmosphere. But I'm shifting to focus more, both on my art career (seeing where I can go with it) and utilizing my pay raise to pay down debts to lessen our monthly needs. Long slow goals indeed :)

In the present this cough from my cold a few weeks ago is still hanging on and being exhausting... The tightness makes it near impossible to work out. Time to resort to a heavy round of expectorants, vaporizer and eucalyptus oil and get it gone!

Good Morning! Welcome to the last work day of 2016. I hope everyone has a short easy work day if they are working and then you have a great weekend!!!

A short reflection from me about my year follows:

On Jan 1, 2016 I knew I was facing a year where I would lose my job and have to go out into the market for a new one. I had been at the same company for nearly 15 years and I was anxious about the change. So, on that evening, as I sat down to have a cocktail and relax before the work year started, my husband looked at me and said "when are you going to take care of yourself? I'm so worried that you are going to have a heart attack because of the unhealthy choices you are making." I looked at him and said, "right now". He said, "you don't have to jump up now". And I said the words that have changed my life. I said, "If I don't get up now and walk for 10 minutes, I won't be able to say at the end of the year that I worked out every day in 2016". So I got up and walked for 10 minutes.

And then I didn't stop all year. There were a few days I was sick so I didn't work out. There were days when my workout consisted of my absolute minimum 15 minutes of activity. But I worked out every day. I lost nearly 20 pounds so far, but more importantly, I am strong. My blood sugar is under control and nearly normal. I crave exercise now and need it to make my day feel complete. I am, simply, a new person with renewed confidence and health.

Here's to 2017 and the changes it will bring!!!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!!
