Hi folks :)

The office is closed today! I went to bed early last night and slept in waaaay late, but I think I needed that. I headed to the pool for the first time since that head cold last week, my chest congestion isn't completely gone and it was a less than stellar swim, but it's clear enough that I was ok. Hit up the farmer's market for some last ingredients for our Christmas feast to boot :)

Kourtney, enjoy the time off and way to go on meeting goals!

"all kinds of crazy drama here with people being angry over basically having to do their jobs" I can really relate to this Heather. It's as is being paid to do a job is somehow too much to ask. _sigh_

Morning all. I have today off, not bc I got it off but bc I took it off. I worked a half day last Saturday and a full day on Sunday, so once I was done with those I put Friday OOO on my calendar. I have Monday off bc of the holiday, so I'm VERY PUMPED for a 4d weekend.

Mike has both off too (but bc it's a work holiday). He's still sleeping but once he's up we'll have some breakfast and then lay around watching TV :D.

We had Mike's dad over for dinner last night. I got back later than I wanted (was helping a new girl with a task before going on holiday), which meant that they actually ate without me so the food would be warm. Warmed up it was delicious too, though. We had roasted chicken and roasted sweet potatoes and asparagus. NOM.

This past week has been a good food week for Mike and I. We were getting back in the habit of eating out and it was good to have a full week of cooking at home. He got to use a bunch of recipes from his cook book "The Science of Cooking" (highly recommend that book btw). We just (finally) bought ourselves "The Joy of Cooking" and we're excited to play around with recipes in there as well.

We're heading to my MILs for Christmas but there aren't really set plans yet... I don't know if we're going up Saturday or Sunday and when we're coming back. I suspect it'll be a 1 day thing - drive down to the Cape on Sunday morning, come back Sunday evening. His siblings are coming into town (from MI and VT) but not until Monday so we will likely see them sometime next week.

I'm hesitant to celebrate this bc I'm afraid of breaking the streak but... I'VE TRACKED MY FOOD AND HIT MY RANGES 4 DAYS IN A ROW! emoticon

Good Morning!!

Here I am at work on the last work day before Christmas. I can't remember the last time I had to work on this day. The up side is that it's relatively quiet here as many people are out, and traffic was crazy light on the way in. Not sure if it will be the same on the way home. But, well, it's what I've got to do right now!!

This whole thing about hours in the office has really got me thinking. I've noticed, and I'm absolutely certain I'm not the first one to notice this, that a ton of time is wasted by a lot of people in the office. They chat, they walk around, they are simply not focused and efficient. I, however, am very focused and efficient once I start working. I can get more done in four focused hours than many people can in a whole day. And for years I worked for a guy that while tough, understood that if the work was getting done, it didn't matter where I was or how many hours my butt sat in my office. This new place is clearly very different than that.

Yesterday there was all kinds of crazy drama here with people being angry over basically having to do their jobs. I feel like the only adult here. Ugh.

Well, it's Friday, so I have a lot to do before the weekend, and I think I'll dig right in!!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!
