Well done Jen. Definitely a comfort level there at lunch but hey- you pulled it together. I wish ere was a Y around here (sigh). They've been talking about it for years at four different places, nothing stuck.

Congrats on the gym, Alatona! I understand the pain of no water and try to keep busy other ways. LOL, well done with the toddler. That brought back (30 years later easing the frustration) sweet memories. I need some grandbabies.

OOh the step tracker app sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out!

Glad the luncheon went well Jen.

Yes Jon, craziness is my middle name lately!

No pool today, but I did get to the gym for the first time in about 2 months. Hooray! Worked out 50 minutes.
I installed a step-tracker app on my phone too. Watch out; soon I'll be wanting a Fitbit or something similar.
Highlight of the day- my 3-year-old used the potty 4 times today! Potty training is a journey... I'm sure some of you have been there done that.

Hi folks :)

client lunch went well, but since they're a few lady art directors/graphic designers that seem to be in their mid-30s it was pretty much a given. I had a nice time meeting them.

Hit the Y for a short fast walk and yoga to boot

Dec 7, a "Day to Remember", indeed. My (adoptive) Dad met my Mom at Pearl in 1939 and married 1940. He was a Navy Lieutenant, she a Navy Nurse. They were both bombed and strafed that day. Yup, I'm that old. Keep the string going, Heather! With a 75 year family own company it's not quirky, it's predictable in the bad way. We need to update to the end of the last millennium at least. Hire the best and let them do their jobs, absolutely.

Wow , that's a lot on your plate Carol. Plus the existing property work.

Bad AM but I keep pounding on the AM workouts so there's that.

Jon - I usually wrap gifts as I get them, then on 12/24 I put bows and stuff. This year? Nothing is wrapped and very little has been purchased lol

Heather - Yep, hire a good team and it will make your life easier. This is the first company I've ever come to where my team was exceptional (except for one). I replaced that one with someone who has been able to hit the ground running. However...when you are doing an ERP implementation, it's helpful to have strong management and report writers, too bad we don't!

I have a crazy day ahead with the implementation coming due in just a couple of weeks, plus a re-do on the budget so I'm off to get cracking. I'll try to check in later.

Good Morning.

Today is Pearl Harbor Day. It was 75 years ago, but it was a landmark day in our history and one that should still be remembered and we can take a minute to stop and think about the sacrifices all of those people made that day and onward through the war. I think sometimes about someone posting something on Sept 11 2076 and how hardly anyone will still be around that remembers it, so I try to show the same respect to this day that I'd like someone to show for that day in the future.

In other news........I worked out last night, so happy about that!

Carol asked yesterday how work is going. It's going pretty well now. The management here is quirky (where isn't it quirky, right?), but now that I report to the CEO instead of the President, it's much more normal. I sure have enough work to do! Some of my "just work hard and crank through it without being emotional about your work" attitude is finally starting to trickle down to my staff and the ones that have survived the first four months working with me are doing well. :) I learned a long time ago that in order to have a decent life of my own, I have to hire exceptional people who work hard and smart. And you have to let people go if they can't cut it. Hard lesson, but the more you do it, the easier it is.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!!
