I wish those were words I could live by Laurie. I'm just trying to keep the nonsense to a minimum.

Hi gang!

Kourtney, I check the scale almost everyday (against Spark advice) as it helps to pin down areas of falling down. I find I'm heaviest Monday AM as I like to mess around in the kitchen on weekends, I'm consistently lightest Sat AM after a week of my usual meals. YMMV.

Yup, poured on and off with a steady rain here as well Heather. I sure wish we had some of this throughout the vert dry summer.

A sand walk or sitting on a bluff Carol? Tough choice. Jealous.

"No you don't. You just think it's a dire emergency, but it isn't. I guarantee it." lol Laurie. That's me at work everyday sorting out priorities.

That's very rude of them Jen. Go find that treadmill!

"...showing up and caring about something means you win!!" Words to live by Heather and congrats to the DD.

I completely ran out of gas for the last hour of work today. Very odd as the food and exercise was as normal.

Edit: The Missus greeted her new class of ESLs today and has one native to French. I'm tempted to ask for him as a tutor as, while I can still read French adequately, my never finding one to speak it with has turned my spoken linguistic skills to nil.

Edit one more time: Such a beautiful language and before the French Armed Forces jokes line up, did you know the French Air Force is the only coalition force other than US that flies close airstrikes in Afghanistan? That saves our guys lives.

Hi folks :)

The rain is keeping me indoors on my lunch break today. Hopefully it's nicer tomorrow, I hate listening people eat chips in the breakroom and I've found if I try to take lunch in my cubicle, co workers don't respect the break and still ask to do things.

I so very wanted to stay in bed with a book today, but here i am, I might hit the tread mill at the y tonight since I can't go lunch walk.

I'm insanely busy. I should be working, but here I am posting here instead. My schedule from now until I leave for SC on the 30th is crammed full so I can leave town for two weeks. As it is, I will be taking work with me and I have to attend two hearing by telephone while I'm gone. And people keep calling and wanting to see me RIGHT NOW because they have a dire emergency. (Response: No you don't. You just think it's a dire emergency, but it isn't. I guarantee it.)

Anyway, I'm going to spend more time not working and go post on the Christmas challenge thread. That I meant to do on Saturday.

Kourtney - That's what I've been telling ya! Stay off the darn scale. I get on once a week on Monday to see where I'm at. I keep it in the cupboard so that it's a specific activity.

Heather - Rainy weather definitely makes me feel like curling up with a good book - haha. But I'm not very used to rain. I'm going to get a lot more of it living here up north so it will be interesting to see how I fair.

I decided to take a slow morning so I got up, did my yoga and then had a nice bath. I walked out to the ocean and instead to doing my usual soft sand walk I sat on the bluff and enjoyed the view. I'll walk at lunch time.

Now I'm at work helping my Italian son with his CV and cover letter. He's applying for an internship in Belgium working at an government agency that is helping Africa and other challenged countries with renewable energy. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Hi! Thanks for getting the thread going....I am running behind today!!

Scales can sometimes just not be very helpful and watching that number too much can be de-motivating. I'd say if you feel like you should take a break then you should take a break. Try measuring other things like your food intake, your exercise, your measurements (maybe every other week?), your mood. See if just focusing on positive behavior can help to keep you motivated to make good choices.

It's a rainy Monday and it's a little hard to get going today. But, I'm here and making the best of it!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!!

Hey guys,

I'm considering taking a break from the scale. It doesn't seem to be helping and my weight seems to be so all over the place... I dunno. Maybe I'll pick a few specific days to check a month? What do you think?

I swam this morning but am not really feeling work this morning. I'd rather go home and rest. The gloomy day outside isn't helping either.

How are YOU?

xoxo
