Lazy Sunday morning, coffee and newspaper in bed in front of the fireplace watching the clouds come in over the Sierras, we may have snow on the drive home today. Brunch at home-egg, wheat toast, Taylor ham, V8 juice and fruit salad-one of our favorites.

I was going to run this morning, but the wind is fierce, so my plan is to go to the gym when we get home and get on the elliptical before going to my parents for Sunday dinner. I did do upper body work with weights this morning and yesterday I did ab work.

I've been rereading Bob Green's "Best Life Diet" and have decided I really need to focus on cardio 6 days a week instead of 5 and weights 3 days a week instead of 2 to get past this set point. I've been bouncing between 150 and 155 for a year! I know its because we are doing more traveling through out the year and I do great at home (lose what I gain) and not too bad while traveling (gain 2-3 lbs instead of 5-10lbs). I've gotten much better about exercising while traveling and make better food choices. I've added elliptical and stationary biking to my weekly plan, so when I can't swim while traveling I have an alternative.

Enough about me. Here's to healing! Take care of those injuries and on coming colds. Enjoy the nice weather, we're looking at a big change (rain) this week.

CalGal-sorry to hear about your foot at least you will be enjoying the Carribean sunshine soon!

Blondie-what kind of research do you do?

I made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this morning. Now I definitely need to go swimming tomorrow night. I think I am going to try and walk today.

I hope everyone has a good Sunday!

I'm not sure what I'm going to be up to today. I'm thinking of creating a work space for myself and getting some spanish studying done, some book club reading, and some reading up on protocols for some of those new research projects. I had planned to go shopping with a friend from work, but her son is sick so she's staying home. I'm bummed but trying hard to not let it get me down.

I did well with food yesterday and went on a short (3 1/4 mile, I think... I kinda went off the map LOL) hike. I got to spend the evening with Mike and that was nice as well. We've both been pretty busy as of late, and it looks like this upcoming week is going to be pretty busy too, so we're fitting in together time when we can.

Off to play around on the computer a bit more, then off to be productive.

We all sound kind of pitiful, don't we?

The kids have had pretty crazy weather in Maui, but they say they are having a good time. At least they aren't in Honolulu where it's been really nuts.

Carol, I sure hope you get good news from the doc. Are your kids getting affected by this bad weather in Hawaii that's been in the news? Supposedly Kauai and Oahu got 4 FEET of rain??? I don't think you ever said where in Hawaii they were going.

And Mary, I hope you get good news from your doc too. Good job swimming.

I'm ready for some challenges, maybe. Anything to get me off my arse. It's been nice here, it's going to be warm today, so I plan to work all day, but take a couple of breaks and go for at least one walk. Yeah, that's what I said yesterday too, and it didn't happen. I turned in my paper, then fell asleep in a chair and never left the damn thing for most of the day. Today, outlining.

I'm sick too. Not super sick, but it's been coming on for a few days, a mild cough. Now it's in my chest and it hurts. Hopefully won't last more than a day or two.

I was hoping to find your post before I headed off to bed. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I swam a mile and a half tonight to make up for not getting to the pool yesterday. The pool closes early on Sat/Sun, and I got stuck in traffic and did not make it in time. Hope your doctor gives you the go ahead. I see the orthopedic surgeon again tomorrow for an x-ray for my back. They did the follow up MRI last month, but he wants to check on the fractured vertebrae higher up-it did not show up well on the MRI.

It's been interesting going back to work because it effects other parts of my I expect to wake up and go swimming! I go back to the doctor's on 3/27 and I am crossing my fingers that he will give me the go-ahead then. I truly hope so, since that weekend we leave for Miami, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico and I plan to swim! Ugh, it's going to be so hard to get back into the shape I was in before the broken foot! The muscle in my right calf is visibly atrophied, but it's all of my muscles really. That's the hard part about getting older, everything takes longer. You can expect some team challenges after I get the cast off to help get me back on track!

Welcome new KellyB, it's great to have another professional woman on the team that's active and chatting! People definitely find it easier to reach their goals by stating them here and being supported.

What's up for your Sunday? I have to update myself on California labor law changes and work on some employment agreements. I found out we are handing out things like cell phones and laptops without any paperwork and I plan to change that starting tomorrow. ... So many, many things to do when you start a job!
